  1. Um you are wrong matey. They come standard with a Bosch BOV. where have these comments come from???
  2. My understanding is that FPV do the cooling for Turbo's (whether that is only the Intercooler, or actually more I don't know)
  3. All the reports I have read, the Auto is quicker than the Manual. It is suggested that the Manual is "as quick" in very experienced hands, but not quicker. And my understanding is that the foot was on the break and accelerator to raise the revs just before take off
  4. What I have is what is similar to the buzzing you use to get in the radio when the alternator didn't have one of those special suppressor things... does anyone else get this?? It seems to buzz in tune with the revs, but with the radio on or off
  5. I'd order one but I don't think 2 mute buttons would be enough
  6. IMO I'd say the restriction has a lot to do with insurance, and the dealers would just not be insured to allow a test drive. The other reason is they would be skeptical whether you'd buy the car being on your P's (I assume you are quite young to?) Maybe you'd have to prove you are serious about buying one?? I don't know how??
  7. At least you'll have the weekend to just droll over it, wash it 4 times, sit in the driveway listening to your CD's, lifting the bonnet a dozen times showing your mates, and oh'ing and ah'ing over the "stuff" under there... etc etc :D

Personally I find Mobil 8000 the best... I don't know about fuel economy, never found a lot of difference, but I have noticed difference in bottom end response, but not to much in top end... that's just my experience, I hope it helps.
  9. BA XR6T would run lower compression than AU, and I understood that the BA XR6T has forged pistons.... This should then handle more compression quite easily... but I'm no mechanic I'd say the BA series 2 may have more power, say 250kW+ when they know more about the "T"
  10. I don't know if this is a good topic actually... do we promote speeding?? Unless of course we have been driving in the NT. If this thread finds it's way to the insurance company's we will all be paying for it later, not to mention the Police targeting us. Any car can pull a fast speed given enough road, it's just not exciting (Driving around Eastern Creek on the other hand is great fun). There is one thing being fast, and there is another being quick
  11. Not to detract from Mr Plow's car, or Kelli's for that matter (both great cars... and Kelli, my god your car must go now!) Anyway... I was a little disappointed with the show myself... I spent maybe 45 minutes walking around, and didn't see anything to exciting... I did however notice quite a few great looking cars in the car lot. I won't be going to it again, IMO they could have done much better.
  12. So while racing an SS off the lights you are able to have one hand out the window giving him/her the one finger salute
  13. It took about a week of using the SSS to get use to how it responds. It's no manual, of course there is no clutch! But once you are use to it, you'll notice this is very different to a normal Auto. What I hated in my AUXR8 Auto was if I wanted just a little more power from second gear, at the "wrong" revs it would try to kick back to first, and rev it's nuts off, and then slam into second! This does not happen with the SSS in second, and therefore is different to the normal Auto. It will not change back! Full Manual! I choose the SSS Auto because of the way you can select gears, not because of how it drove in drive! I was originally after a Manual but couldn't go past the SSS once I drove it around for a while... it's very smooth, and finishes the interior off very well. All my mate (who drive manuals) love the SSS, and say it's the end of the manual gear box for them... I tend to agree
  14. I'll put a couple of Turbo badges above my XR6 on the sides (I do have a Turbo!!) anyway.. I also want a couple of FPV badges to go near the indicators too (In my opinion I have an FPV designed car!)
  15. My AUXR8 had the premium breaks, which I believe are the standard breaks on the BA (However they are not slotted on the BA, so this may not be the case) Anyway the breaks are fine. I had my AUXR8 at Eastern Creek for a drive day and the breaks were perfect. If you remove the dust shields the breaks keep cooler, and do not wear as fast, but you will notice more break dust. I hope this helps
  16. I have an SSS auto, and this thing is great! I've said this before it's a clutchless manual, and a very quick one at that. Sure it's initially slow off the line, for a split second, but if I wanted to spin the wheels I would have brought a manual, but then again, any tosser can spin their wheels! As for leaving it in drive all the time, this is just BS. Maybe you would if you have buttons on the wheel, but this thing is gear shift driven, and perfect for those down changes, short changes, and of course when you are in the twisties and want to hold the perfect gear! Take them for a long test drive and you'll see what I mean. Oh, and when your crusing at 50k's in second and want to show off to your mates, push your foot flat, throw it back into 1st and haaannnnnggg ooonnnn!!! Try that in a manual!
  17. My God, that's exactly the same as mine...even down to traveling up from the south coast.... I could have easily written that! (except for the power window thing) "High pitch noise" - Yes it sounded like a piece of plastic was hanging off the car making a whistle sound Alternator whine - Mine does this with the stereo off!
  18. It is dissapointing, and I'd say it has something to do with the lower compression ratio, but not sure. Idle to 2000rpm is very poor... but hey it's only for a split second then it launches!
  19. Get Paint Protection...it's worth it...after-market or dealer, it will still be worth it. All the other stuff, it doesn't matter if you get it from the dealer or somewhere else
  20. Oh... as "Blow" for the Turbo...Blown... Did I say that
  21. BLOWME
  22. No expert, but simple terms is that the blow off valve vents pressured air (to the intake, or outside) when not required, the wastegate releases exhaust pressure/flow in the Turbo (into the exhaust pipe) to reduce the boost the turbo is making
  23. That reply wasn't there when I wrote mine..
  24. It's there... you have to hold the "mode" button down (which is behind the audio controls on the wheel) and it will show up on the right hand little LCD where the trip meter is. An "S" will display with a circle around the "S" and then the speed will show. You adjust the setting with the "+" and "-" with the audio volume buttons
  25. Each to their own I guess... I fitted a Supercar front bumper to my AU, and although it gave me the sh*t's trying to get up steep driveways etc, it looked great (IMO of course) Have a look at the GT, if you like it, just do it.
