  1. Thanks.. So that's about the same increase that I ended up with. Can I ask where you had the car tuned? Thanks Mal
  2. It's a 2002 model, Auto, with about 60k on the clock. I haven't had it down the quarter yet. I hope to go soon.
  3. Thanks, I'm interested to see how you go FR33DY. So the general consensus is I should have a bit more power. I'll have to make a few phone calls and see what I can find out.
  4. The valves are standard, and no problems yet. The injectors are also the original ones, but have been modified (I assume drilled out bigger somehow?)
  5. I've just had a few things done, what are your thoughts... XR6T Auto 1. Standard 186rwkW (5-6 PSI) 2. Edit + Centre Muffler Removed + 2nd CAI 201rwkW (8PSI Map) 3. X-Force 3" Exhaust + Injector Mod (high flow) + K&N Air Filter + 2nd CAI + Custom Tune 340rwhp (~250rwkW) 12PSI The dyno's were all different. Is this a good/poor result, and expected for these changes?
  6. Yep. I have this problem, and it sh*ts me!
  7. The flash can't be changing everything because the Trip computer remains unchanged. I'd suspect that any information collected by Ford would be saved in the same spot as the trip computer, and therefore not changed?? I have no idea, I'm just guessing
  8. No' 2, but can it be pushed back a bit? Oh, and get rid of the badge.
  9. Does anyone know what happens to the 8PSI tune if you change the exhaust and add a K&N filter? Will it "re-learn" and keep a correct AF ratio? Has anyone does this? Street Tuner? Thanks Mal
  10. I'm not 100% sure (and thinking back to older models) but they used to lift up from the front. They used to have two metal clip things either side of the front. If my memory serves me right it was quite hard to lift the seat up (or lever it up from the front anyway). Ok, now don't run outside and start ripping at the seat because I could be wrong Mal
  11. Now that you have the Edit we can all breath easy and keep talking about how good it is Congrats Mal
  12. Do you see 8 regularly? How is traction in 1st and second? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 8 PSI comes up as quick as it can, and stays there until you back off. Traction is ok in 1st and 2nd. If you want to break traction it is pretty easy though. It's not something I'd recommend when going 80kph
  13. Maybe we can get a few cars there and the guys at Injection Perfection can Dyno, and tune a few at once? I'll create a thread in "Crusies" Mal
  14. I'm thinking about putting my car on a Dyno in Sydney. Can anyone recommend a good place to go? Mal
  15. I have the Edit, and this is the best thing I have ever bought. 8 PSI is a huge increase in Power (I don't know about 300kW at the motor, but it would have to be close to 280? The 10 PSI would easily be 300kW). I have a boost gauge in the car, and yes stock peaks at 6 PSI, but is mainly 5 PSI (This is also backed up by a stock Dyno graph I have) Hope this helps Mal
  16. Sorry :tosser: I won't talk about how amazing it is, or the rush you get when you push the throttle, or how the G forces bring on a grin from ear to ear, or even the excitment when you open the package from CAPA and find it in the box just waiting for you to plug it in, or even the fact that if you haven't got this thing you just haven't lived... whoops
  17. Yep 10 is much more powerful. I agree. Especially in the mid range
  18. CAPA delivered it using a courier (It took 1 day) It's easy to set up. Basically you select the program and off you go. It couldn't be easier. The 10 PSI just doesn't feel right (at least higher in the rev range anyway). The 8 PSI feels very smooth. At saying that the 10 PSI tune turns a quick car into a monster. I'll have no rubber left if I use the 10 PSI tune. I think power from the 10 PSI tune is about a 50rwkw increase. (8 is probably 30-40??? - Street Tuner would have a better idea) I hope to put mine on the Dyno as soon as everyone goes back to work. Can anyone recommend a good Dyno in Sydney? Mal
  19. Ok - Traction Control It's all the extra power that is farking it up. If I drive it like a complete tool, and keep my foot flat to the floor, even when the TC comes on, it turns itself off (on a dry road anyway). If I drive it like a "normal human" (using my wifes words not mine) and TC comes on, and I back off just a little (with TC still flashing), than TC doesn't disable?? TC doesn't disable on a wet road regardless of how long the TC is on for. Summary - You should stop driving like a Complete Tool! (yes dear ) I hope this information is interesting to some anyway. Mal
  20. Damn, my Traction Control is still broken. I'll go back to the factory tune and see if it still happens
  21. It's CAPA's Flash Tuner (well SCT Flash Tuner to be exact, but programmed by CAPA)
  22. Thanks Street Tuner. I appreciate your comments. Also, I thought that the timing/cams control was changed, and this should have produced more bottom end? (After 2 years with the Turbo, I still miss the bottom end pull of my old AU 5ltr) On the topic of Traction Control, can someone shed some light on what I have experienced. This never happened in stock form. It feels like Traction Control has changed?? It doesn't seem to work as good? I don't know if this is just the extra power now pushing it beyond it's limits or not? Talking about things that have changed; Is there a list of changes that the 8 PSI tune has made to the standard program eg Timing? Thanks again Mal
  23. Guys, I've run the edit today, please see a short list below THE GOOD 1. Great mid range, and feels very strong (8 PSI Tune) 2. The 8 PSI tune hits "Power Band" at 4500 rpm 3. Great mid range, and feels even stronger (10 PSI Tune) 4. Gear shifts no longer have the reduced power/torque when changing (Auto) 5. Breaks traction very easy (this could be bad ) 6. The 10 PSI tune has smooth power until about 5200 rpm 7. Quick and easy to install THE BAD 1. The mid range pull (peak) from the 8 PSI tune goes away after a short drive (I think it's the tune learning the correct settings?? Although I liked it, I suspect this is actually 'Good') 2. No change to bottom end pull. I'm not impressed about this, I was lead to believe it would be improved. 3. The gear changes are NOT firmer, IMO they are the same (excluding point 3 of THE GOOD of course) THE UGLY 1. If traction control comes on at higher speeds a few times (say 60kms), it disables itself?? I'm not impressed about this at all 2. Power at a higher rev range on the 10 PSI tune drops off quickly (above about 5200 rpm) I've reverted back to the 8 PSI as it feels much better. If anyone has any comments please feel free to post. Street Tuner, if you could comment on my experience that would be great. Please guys, I'm not interested in talking about alternative products, I've paid for the Flash Tuner, and that is all I'm interested in now regardless if it still needs some more development. I'm happy to work with CAPA/Street Tuner and provide some feedback Thanks Mal
  24. Does anyone know who will be doing the tunes in Sydney? Thanks, Mal
  25. Yep, have seen it in the flesh (Sydney Motor Show) and agree, it's a good looking car. I'm thinking 10k (15k if you consider fleet discounts) more than a XR6T is a bit over the top? I'm going to have to sleep on this for another night I think
