  1. Guys, I have it as well, have had since new, only 5,500k's on the clock, had all the wheels balanced and drive shaft. After the driveshaft balance it felt ok, however about 3-4 days later it started to come back but intermittently. Has now re-established itself as if no change since the driveshaft balance. Vibration comes on after 80kmh, worse at around 100, and is hard to detect after 120. Can feel the vibration in the steering wheel, and on the ZF shifter- not happy Jan! Any change /work done to fix your problems? Back to Ford for more warranty work. Me thinks this is going to be along haul to rectify. After from this no other problems to date.
  2. Am finally the owner of a new BF2T ( waited 8 years since the purchase of the 1st AUXR6VCT ), have 1,600km's on the clock and despite my fear of fuel consumption (after regularly reading this forum was a tad gun shy of purchasing a real petrol glugger!) need to advise of the following petrol consumption to date during the running in period:- 1) Round town (in Canberra) in ultra hot weather with aircon and the occasional spurt off the lights and the 'hey wake up' to 1/2 asleep public servant drivers am getting under 12L/100km's 2) On the freeway sitting on cruise with aircon on just under 120kmh wiith the occasional 'gunning' am getting under 10L/100Km's. The car is stock 6 speed auto apart from Ford approved and 'warranted' John Bowe CAI and 80mm 'Signature Series' throttle body. Am I pleased or what? Consumption is based on calculating actual litres put in the tank since last speedo reading, however am finding the trip computer readings fairly accurate also
  3. Thanks for the feedback, something less to ponder about! Cheers Mike
  4. Hi Foum, Mike AU soon to be BFT11! After riding in the AU98XR6VCT for nearly 8 years, have finally ordered the BF2T just to give myself a bit of a treat. All bells & whistles.includes all the accessories inc. premium pac/stereo leather seats etc etc , sunroof, John Bowe cold air induction and throttle body-yeah I know I'll cop a caning for the overpaid accessories , hey but at least its honoured under Ford warranty. Have also ordered the 18 X 8" wheels. Question is the ride on the 18's much louder/ harsher than 17's? Anybody out there with 18's on and do you notice much difference in the road noise, bumps etc compared to the 17's?
  5. Forum, Now that Im finally committed to my new T I have aquestion. I note that a lot of you guys change your oil in between (I assume) the standrd Ford services. If this is so do you:- 1) use the same oil as Ford uses at time of their service or 2) use what you think is best for the T If its 2) 'cause you may be using different oil types in between will this effect the engine long term? Just curious as I also do not trust 15k's in between oil changes and want to know what the norm is Cheers Mike (ACT)
  6. Hi Forum, Since the release of the BA T I've been quietly pondering around in the background as MikeAUXr6 (yep I'm still driving a 98 XR6VCT), and while it still pulls and screams like I 1st got it -no oil usage apart from the diff clunk, rattles, and intermittent battery light that keeps the Ford guys scratching their heads) its time to update. (I've now had 3 Xr's in succession) My heart has always been set on the T and for the last 5 years I've been listening and watching this Forum for all the good bits and your heartaches to validate my BIG T purchase. However am also a tad sidelined by the VE with the base SS 6 litre costing far less than a new T, and the Toyota Aurion (total blasphemy) spruiking supercharged 240kw+ with 100kg les than a T. Went to McGraths in Belconnen Canberra today to suss out any info on the BF11. The sales guy pulled out an 'in house' brochure on the BF11 XR6T, and I can confirm -have seen the print of the following:- 1) New colours (only 2) 2) New interior stitching (so what!) 3) New instrument cluster 4) Blue Tooth capability (due 12/06) 5) No external skin change to the T and THAT IS IT! There is no change in the KW's for the T. I specifically asked and was told that there is no power upgrade to the T. Please, someone else go and check with a dealer that the above is BS, as I'm sure that they all would have the same brochure to validate the above. Ich am at a cross roads. Do I do the VE SS, or wait for the 'AU' Toyota (yech?) or bite the bullet and accept the BF11T as it is? Cheers MikeAUXR6 (soone to be Mike BF11T?????)
  7. mmmmm, me thinks it looks like an expanded Vectra. If Ford Australia adopt this front end it absolutely bleeds of an AU stuff up, and consequently you can count me out of any more Fords!!!!
