Have just installed Philips 8 spot DRL's on my G6ET. They are road legal in Australia, dim down when parker lights and upwards come on. Photos do not do total justice. They come on automatically however am in the process of using a manual overide switch to turn off when not required. The electrics with the unit will not allow for the lights to be on maximum output at night. They are super bright in daylight. 2 photos were taken with the park light on (& flash went off) consequently the dimmer was working at this time as well.

I've been searching for quality DRL's for quite a while. Invision has now released the Philips range of DRL's used o'seas into Australia. They come with full wiring loom and are OZ compliant. Can order through Autobarn (Try Fyshwick ACT). However if linked up to the parkers I notice that the parking lights seem to stay on in the FG when normal running lights (low & high beam) are on as well. However specs state that the DRLs will dim when normal lights are switched on. Check out this website for full specs and installation guide:- http://www.invisionsales.com/lighting/philips/drl The LED Daylight 8 DRL (as in the brochure) fits perfectly into the G6E lower grill (I've measured) Mine are going in on the 2nd bottom row in the lower grill as far as left and right that you can go. You only need to cut out one of the vertical grill webs on each side to fit in, with 8 spec light slotting exactly into the plastic grill space.

Question, Does any one know if these'Ebay' LED replacement globes, will these also fit into a G6ET? The foglights on the G6ET appear to be smaller than those on the FG6T & FGF6.

Question how much did the Marcello Rims cost? Gather you put the Ford 19" tyres on them or were these seperate? Look fantastic!

2011 Ford Territory Spy Photos | Car Advice | News | Reviews What does this mean for the 2011 XR6T+? So what does this mean to all the high end XR's etc? This must mean they must also get similar specs. We are now only 12 months away from the next model and if the Terri is already running around the new XR must break cover soon too. I'm off my BF2 novated lease in December with a foot in the FG camp and now in the next models camp. What is happening out there? How long before the next model XR breaks cover?

Hi, I had shudder/vibration in my BF2T since new. Despite rotor machining, replacement, tail shaft balances & replacement, wheel balancing it finally got fixed at 60,000K's (3 years later). Steering rack was the problem, all gone since this was replaced. If you are feeling the vibration through the steering wheel (it also effects the general car feel) get Ford to replace.

I've got a BF2T 1st registered 1/2006 , 75k on the clock and my sub has just karked it (vibrates/distorts at most volume levels-Panasonic Ford branded crap) Anyway bought a replacment at BDL Fyshwick Canberra (Focal 21v2)100% better no more popping at near full volume-can't understand why the factory version has failed!!!!! At time of sizing for replacment sales guy reckoned that I was about the 4th Ford premium sound user who had been in the shop this month to replace the sub due to failure. Is this a common fault in the BF series? Havent seen any indication in the forum about similar problem, perhaps this is only now beginning to come into play due to ageing of the vehicles. Why the hell can't Ford option a so called premium unit with premium parts. Would kill for a Macintosh system like in the Subaru's and would be prepared to pay for it also. Listen Ford Australia!

Hi, I sympathise with you. I've had a couple of tailshaft balances (under warranty) however am still having 'similar' vibration problems- since new!I am so pissed off. It is also intermitent, on a few occasions I've booked the car in, however prior to, the vibration has not been sufficient enough to warrant Ford looking at it. If you end up with a solution please share!

Soooo, In a standard BF2T with no mods on 98 ron, what are the power gains? Has anyone out there in the XRT ether sussed this out?????
-
Hey, I have a BF2T (12/06) which has just had 2 front end ball joints replaced at 60,000K's -under warranty. Apparently they are on record at going around 60-80k have you has these checked?
-
Hi, I've had numerous steering vibration issues resolved by:- 1) New disc as one was worn more than the other and consequently weights were not even between the 2 wheels 2) Out of round -same as you 3) Latest- Worn front end ball joint at only 60,000km's and I'm a Canberra road driver- both replaced under warranty If you are also getting vibration up through the car/seat/centre console/gear shift get number 3 & 1 checked if out of round has already been done, Cheers

Just a heads up for anyone having vibration problems in the car and having problems locating the issue. Despite numerous wheel alighnments balancing and everything else, after another 5,000 KM's trying to sort out why I have had this recurring vibration in the car, it was not not always apparent however was becoming more regular, I've had both front ball joints replaced under warranty. Car has only 60,000 km's on the clock, consequently unsure why they would fail so quickly. Must have something to do with the speed in which I get through the roundabouts here in the ACT. Long and short of it ball joints replaced and no vibration, what a relief! One clue was that on rare occasions backing out and steering at angles I would get a loud clunk from the front end, apart from that there was no other clue that the ball joints were failing. Apparently one was worse than the other but Ford voluntarily replaced both, thanks to McGraths at Woden.

Guys, I have had this problem 2twice! The first time apparently one of my brake discs was out of whack, ie despite braking I got no shudder, however it was out of balance somehow replaced in full and then fine. This was after 25,000km's from new, was I frustrated by this time or what, endless drive shaft balances, change of tyres etc. 40,000km's later vibration shudder is back. Would you believe it, two mags on the left side of the car were 'out of round'. Somehow I must have hit an all mighty pothole (or took a speed hump to hard), but I had two mags that had slight dents on the inside of each of them. When McGraths in Phillip ACT rang me I just said bull#@%! However with the mags off, no tyres on, on the wheel balancing machine it was pretty obvious. Could not believe it. My mags are the standard 18" ones that come with the BF2. $1,400 later replaced and balanced no vibration-bloody rip off-in hindsight I should have replaced all four with some aftermarket, but have a novated lease so costs were not that bad. Even with one mag out of round you will probably have problems. What sort of metal are they using to get a mag out of round when I could not recall any major pothole? I'm the only driver of the car. Get your tyres off the mags and check either on a wheel balancer for a wobble or just roll on the concrete floor. This may be a solution, its solved my problem!

Hi Guys I'm ACT based (Jerra) I may be interested as well.

Have heard first hand from a Ford mechanic and have had confrmed by a dealer principal that the ZF gear box will cease in the next model and be replaced by local 5 speed. Reasons being costs as the ZF is now too expensive to continue with. Can't absolutely guarantee this info, just passing on what I've been told by Ford employees. If this is the case buy up on FG at run out time!

Yes, Yes Yes, Have had a vibration in my BF2 from new up until 20k when they finally pinpointed the problem. Front brake disc was out of whack. This did not show up on braking (ie no brake shudder under braking at all). The vibration would come on at approx over 80-90k's and on the freeway at around 110k. I had all sorts of work done, drive shaft balance , wheel alignment, change of mags and tyres etc, no go. Just a sh*tty brake disc. Brand new car and ruined the experience for the 1st 20k's. If your local service guy at Ford wants to know more ask him to call Ash at Gregorys Ford at Braddon in the ACT. Ash heads up one of the service teams there and would not let up until he found the problem. He may be able to steer your local guy to a more exact solution. Good luck, hope this is your problem!

Fairmont Number Plate Garnish?
mikeBF2TLS replied to PJDXR6t's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
OK I'm interested in some more bling !- (have a Lightening Strike BF). Any idea how much this costs from Ford?, assume it comes as one unit and screws straight in once the sstandard part comes off. Are the lights either side of the plate reversing lights and do they connect straight up to BF2T wiring? Cheers Mike -
How Do I Get The T To Handle Better?
mikeBF2TLS replied to doublek's topic in Suspension and Handling
Hi, I have a shudder in my steering as well. Starts at around 80kmh and is most noticeable on dead flat freeway driving. My car has only 16,000kms on the clock and has had the problem since new (ford no cost option) and has been into Ford 3 times now with last booking including driveshaft balance , however its still there. Tyres etc have been checked etc etc . Its now to go back again with strict instructions-fix it, regardless of what! -
Many thanks for the feedback-off to Mitchell to ask some more questions & perhaps let go of some hard earned $!
-
Thanks for the feedback guys. Still no replies from any ACT forum members. Question, whats involved with a Dyno for $70? Xcuse the ignorance but I'm a bit of a virgin with this , and what work is done to the car to accommodate an upgraded IC?

After spending days on end cruising this site regarding the upgrade of my stock intercooler (have a 2007 BF2 Turbo) I have 2 questions that I can't seem to find the answers for. 1) I'm Canberra based and as you Canberra guys know we have cold winter mornings but hot summer days, which last summer I found absolutely cruelled the T's performance. If I put in a Process West or Plazman Stage 1 type intercooler will I suffer from overboost etc and is a re-tune aboslutely necssary to compensate for the bigger intercooler on those minus winter mornings in Canberra etc? Is any one out there in Canberra (or elsewhere where its quite cold etc) who has an upgraded intercooler however not had a retune to compensate? If so what type of intercooler do you have in ? Am I better off just upgrading to an F6 intercooler or is this just a waste of money on a stock T? 2) With a larger intercooler blocking up the airflow at the immediate front of the car does this effect the radiators cooling capacity on hot days etc? No one seems to have any problems with the normal radiator capacity to cool, but just curious anyway. Summer is on the way! Just some questions I'd like to clear up as the car is only 8 months into warranty and I don't want to jeopordise any potential warranty work at the excuse of an upgraded intercooler.

Guys, I just replied under 'front end shudder', I have a 1/07 BF Mk2 with ZF 6 speed. It looks like this is now becoming a chronic problem in the BA and now BF series. Ich not happy, as from the history of this post I'm not looking forward to multiple stabs in the dark by Ford to sort out this chronic illness in our cars!
