  1. Hi all, I have been a member for a while now, but at least now I have something to talk about. I ordered my T on Tue and took delivery today. There is a story to this, of course. I was going to wait for Series 2 to arrive, but when I spoke to my Ford Dealer in Brisbane, he asked if I would like him to try and find one. I said must be auto with luxury pack. He found me a Lightning Strike in northern NSW which was a cancelled order. I told him if he found one I would buy it, and I was genuine. Has SSS, Lux pack & sports wheel, drive away $50K. Great car.
  2. Hi all, come mid-June we will have 3 kids under 4 years old. My concern is the width of the rear bench in the T, as all 3 will be in car seats. Does anyone have this situation, and if so, how much of a pain is it to buckle up the middle one. All thoughts appreciated.
  3. Sykes, I just got a quote from Romano's at Morningside. They are one of the agents for APS in Brissy. Prices are: Phase I: $1750 fitted 280fwkw Phase II: $6000 fitted 330fwkw These guys have a good reputation, but there are others. Give dynosteve a call, at Redcliffe Dyno and Performance. There are many threads in the modification forum that will answer all of your Q's.
  4. I have had 4 turbos: ET pulsar, MX-6 mazda, 2xTelstar TX-5's. All good cars, none modified.
  5. She's got too many K's on the clock. Noisy diff, bit of front end sag, the wholesalers won't even look at her! I hear what you are saying ChrisT, I live in Brisvegas, that may be too close to Dynosteve than a man can resist!
  6. I have only ever had turbos. Dad started with a Dick Johnson Grand Prix XE turbo in 1982/3. Since then I've had two TX5 turbo's, an MX-6 and an ET pulsar. All of these pale into comparison with the outputs talked here, but you are right in saying that the bang is so addictive. Don't think the funds will stretch for the S/C. May have to sell a child.......
  7. I think that the better residual for the GT-P will be the deciding factor. Its only a couple of hundred dollars a month more to lease the GT. Thanks for the input guys, I will try to source some further info on what Ford have done in the US, Plonky. May give me some more options.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I was worried about the longevity of a s/c 5.4. Maybe a chip and an exhaust from Herrods should suffice. There are a few GT-P's around here at the moment. My drive away price is $75000 with dead cow and sound. Is this a good price? I can choose from citric, orange, merc silver, blueprint, white, phantom and black. All GT-P's with leather and sound, all in stock! No-one has any turbos in stock apart fom the one with my deposit on it, silver, leather, roof and sound ; around $55 drive away.
  9. I'm exactly the same with my cars. I don't want to come across like an arrogant a*se, I realise a few would like my dilemma. I just like the easy tweakability of the T, the bang for your buck is hard to beat. The car will essentially be my wife's transport, as where I work, I have to park in a shopping centre car park. I may as well sit at home and throw stones at it, probably chip less paint. I like the exclusivity of the GT-P, and the residual!
  10. Thanks Ken, I wondered when I mentioned colour, if you would be the first to reply. I like the GT, don't get me wrong, but in all honesty it didn't feel that quick. It had power across the rev range, but lacked that push you back in your seat acceleration you get with the T. My wife, the lovely minister for finance, wants the GT, no question. I will see if anyone can help with the Q's on enhancement.
  11. After reading these forums for quite some time now, I began to realise how lucky I was to enter my local Ford dealer, and on the showroom floor was an XR6T in the exact colour, with the exact options I was going in to order! I even had $2.5K in my pocket as a deposit. The problem is the Citric GT-P that resides next to it. After having driven both(autos), I'm curious as to what mods can be done. If I take the T, it will pretty much have an APS phase II kit installed pronto. My dilemma with the GT-P is how well does the 5.4 lend itself to supercharging? Does anyone have any idea of cost to s/c and what rwkw gains could I expect. When driving both cars, I didn't hammer them as one will go to another lucky owner, so maybe I didn't feel the potential of both engines. Just to start some further mud slinging, the T is Mercury Silver in colour!
