Went to car yard and asked for a trade in on my XR6T which will be 2 years old next month. The offer: $25,000 NEVER AGAIN!

Rang my dealer this morning and he had double checked for me and said that yes they come with the colour screen.

Strathfield car radio has them advertised for $299. Heavy bass here I come.

Gents I am looking into buying a XR8 ute. I know that the upgraded sound package is a little short in the equipment department compared to the sedans. But when I was in the dealer today he said that if I order the upgraded sound system (premium / premier cant remember) it will definetely come with the larger colour LCD display. I said are you sure and he said "positive". Now correct me if I am wrong but I thought that no matter which sound system you had you could not get the larger colour display in the ute. Thoughts gentlemen!

By the way, the brake bloke up here reckons he has fixed 6 BA's which had brake shudder by changing the front pads to QFM. Sounds like a cheap fix.

How long before they start to squeal? I think it was after 10000km what year and month is the car? 07/03 have you still got the origonal disks on the car? Yes they are still the original and I have done 23000km and that has not been heavy driving. I rang a brake mob up here in Cairns who QFM (thanks VIK) recommended and they told me $175 for new pads, rotor skim, flush brake fluid and labour. Does this sound right? Thanks guys for all your help. It looks like I might finally have a solution.

Thanks for that. No I dont go near any dirt roads and I have also tried washing out the excess dust but still no joy. Anyone else. I would really like to go to the service manager and say: "I want you to do this....................." So if anyone can help with filling in the blank it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Gents I have a problem with squealing brakes. They are standards brakes and they squeal all of the time no matter what type of braking I do. I have taken it back to the dealer and he said that they skimmed the rotors and put anti squeal spray (???) on them. Now I have looked right through the forums and what you have had to say. But the question I would like to ask is this. When I went back to the service manager and said they are still squealing he said " Ok, what would you like to do?" I felt like saying " Fix the F*****S " . So suggestions please, what should I do or ask him to do? Your experience will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Thanks guys for all the input. Yeh mine does leak quite a bit in heavy rain and the dealer said that it was either around the number plate area or around the spoiler. When you open the boot the water comes out of the holes in the frame of the boot lid. I will just have to book it in to get fixed. Once again thanks.

Gents My boot leaks like no tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if so what did you do about it. My dealer said that it has to go to a panel shop to fix it. A couple of other 'T' owners that I know have the same problem. Any comments?

Just read the badge removal post and "Mattson" said that he will be getting his wheels polished (is it just me or does that sound rude). Can anyone tell me what this entails and what is the end result. It sounds like it could be a good alternative to buying aftermarket wheels if you want shiny ones. Any comments appreciated.

In regard to the bugs on the front of your car. I get it a lot as well being up here in Cairns. What I do is on my way home I spend 2 -3 minutes at the local car wash. You know the ones with the gurney sprayers. I use the sprayer only and get the majority of the bugs off. It costs two bucks and I reckon it gets off 99% of the crap off. Then when I get a spare chance (which is usually the next day) I just wash it as normal. Clean as a whistle. If I have just got a couple of bugs at the end of the day, I use a maguires lint free cloth and maguires spray wax ( I think it is a light detailing one) and it keeps it looking tip top. Hope this helps

Yep Just happened to me. I am stoked but. Mine was three weeks early obviously not as early as yours but. The reason was that someone else ordered the exact same spec car but their finance fell over so they said I could have it. Of course I took it and had the biggest smile on my face all the way from Brisbane to Cairns. :D

Gents Does anyone have a FM modulator for a CD stacker? If anyone does can they please tell me how they find it and what is the sound quality like. I can notice the difference when I listen to the radio and listen to a CD so I was just wondering if there is a big difference when using a FM Modulator setup. Thanks for the advice in advance
