  1. Sometimes I feel my car is quite strong but other times I feel it needs more. I think the biggest issue is the torque management at lower speeds. Having this feeling has convinced me that tuning is the right thing to do which will be happening in the next few weeks. One of the main issues I can see with this is it's pretty much a given that the 0-100 times will be affected resulting in more wheel spin and slower times. Taking this into account I plan to utilise the 3 available tune locations to reduce power so the car can still be used for differing applications. Benny.
  2. Rear with a 10 I would suggest a +40 offset using that size tyre. Anything else and I think you'll struggle to clear everthing inside and outside. Benny.
  3. That noise annoyed my like crazy for the first few days I had mine until I found where to turn it off. It's just so piercing to the ear. Benny.
  4. It's a common issue Chillr. Sorry I don't have a fix for you but I'll tell you you're not alone. A different pad may fix the issue but I'm not sure. Benny.
  5. You will see some tubes with a plastic t-piece like in the pic below. Disconnect as shown and use a small bolt to plug up the hose, use a bolt that is a little bit thicker than the inside diameter of the hose for a good seal. You can zip tie the hose so the bolt stays in there if you wish. Benny.
  6. ^^^^ Agreed. Just make sure the wheels you have clear them. Benny.
  7. December delivery hey, geez that's gonna be a long wait. Well worth it though. Benny.
  8. I'd love a black car but just too hard to keep looking great, so white it was for me. Went with no stripes just to be different. Benny.
  9. Try watching this clip from David at KPM. Quite a good comparison of the systems he has available. http://www.kpmauto.com/tabid/420/Default.aspx Benny.
  10. Standard exhaust is good for quite a bit of power. Just need to run a little more boost compared to a system using hi flow cats. Standard cats flow around 440cfm from what I've been told and are plenty capable if you are just looking at tune only. Benny.
  11. They were originally designed to prevent cars with a MAF sensor from reading the air twice on throttle closure which results in over fueling the car causing excess emissions. Benny
  12. Great to hear ilco. What's the next mod planned? Air filter or tune maybe! Benny.
  13. I'm very impressed with the tyres so far considering how cheap they are. I can still turn them in first but second is all grip, still running a factory tune for the moment. Benny.
  14. Just fitted some 10 inch rims with a +40 offset to the rear mated with some Nitto Invo's. Benny.
  15. I agree spin kills any launch that's why I fitted 285's to the rear of mine. I just find the traction control in the FG to be much better as it allows more slip rather than killing everything like the old BA/BF program use to. Benny.
  16. Nope. Did your Turbo Smart unit vent to atmosphere? I assume so considering you got defected. Have you thought about plumbing it back in or removing it all together. It's not really required. Benny.
  17. This is the kit I bought. Don't fall for the Aussie sellers trying to hock these for $70 plus. They are all the same and they are made in china etc. The only ones that I would pay extra for would be genuine philips units and they will set you back $200 plus. I did mine the difficult way you could say but it's much neater. I picked apart the new HID connectors and fed the globe wires through the factory rubber boot on the back of the headlights. This required a few hours and some fiddling but in my opinion is much neater and does not require any additional holes to be made in the rear of the headlight. I can remove these if required with no signs of modification. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/55W-12V-24V-Xenon-HID-Coversion-Slim-Kit-H1-H3-H4-H7-H9-H10-H11-H13-ALL-COLOR-/110797480574?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19cc0b627e Benny.
  18. I only did mine purely because I hated the dull yellow look of the conventional filiment globe and didn't think it suited the projector headlight fitted to the FGII. The white light really modernises the car I think. Benny.
  19. I'm guessing your old XR was a BA/BF. The traction control program in the FG allows much more slip before intervention occurs. It's much better in my opinion. Benny.
  20. My XR with tune, dump and cat was pretty loud when spark retard occurred. I liked it a lot. New GT does the same but nowhere near as loud. Benny.
  21. Yes can be done but is a little more to it than the old style H4's. No problems with mine, have had them for a few months now. I just purchased a cheap kit from ebay and they are working well. Benny.
  22. Let us know how you go and what you think. Nice cheap mod to improve auidible enjoyment. Benny.
  23. Yes, shouldn't be a problem. Just need to disconnect the small hose above the passenger side rear muffler that comes from the engine bay and plug it. Benny.
  24. My car with a 5inch dump and cat made 340rwkw. I've also seen other FG F6's make up to 360rwkw. The FG exhaust flows quite well with it's straight through mufflers. Benny.
