    Epa :(

I would be aiming to return back to stock as many things possible and getting an E85 tune. E85 is a much cleaner burning fuel which will make passing alot easier. Benny.
  2. I'm guessing you are referring to the 4 speed BTR. They are not a strong box in standard form and were only rated at 450nm stock. Any sort of power/torque increase will usually result in eventual failure. They can be rebuilt to be much stronger though, installing a trans cooler would be advised. The manual T5 isn't much better either. Benny.
  3. ^^^^ At first I thought you were going to say something like "Iv only been married a year and I'm looking to upgrade already" Benny.
  4. ^^^^^ Agree with Bellato 100% Benny.
  5. With the smaller turbo spool is much quicker and delivers a greater amount of torque earlier so yes it will pull harder down low when compared to a BA/BF of similar power output. The cat is the main restriction in the exhaust at 400hp and it is part of the factory dump so if you want an easy bolt in mod a dump and cat is the go. Certainly improving flow in either the intake piping or exhaust will improve spool and reduce restriction. It is advised to change the cooler piping as the factory plastic pipes have been known to fail with higher boost. A bigger intercooler is going to make the car perform much more consistantly on hotter days so I'd advise to get one. People have made 400rwhp without one but I'd question the consistancy of their power when the ambient temps increase. Basic required mods to get 400rwhp are listed by sexual harrassment panda in post 2 of this thread Benny.
  6. I had the decision when I bought my Turbo back in 2008 whether to buy a run out BF F6 or an FG XR6T. Glad I bought the FG as I believe it's quite a bit more refined, has a smaller smaller turbo which is very responsive, redesigned exhaust manifold and intake, better fuel economy, higher centre console and gear shifter, better traction control program, just to name a few things. Benny.
  7. Ahuh up near the brake booster. I much prefer that idea and have always thought your kit would better with and expansion tank as it can be difficult to remove air from the system. Great work David. Benny.
  8. Interesting David. So what exactly are the changes? I never removed my supercharger or front bumper when installing your previous kit. Benny.
  9. Love it.
  10. ^^^^ Pm'd. Car drives as good as stock.
  11. Mine does. Not as obvious as my turbo did but you can still hear it happening. I had it removed on my turbo after tuning and I didn't strike any issues but I was only running 245's and didn't subject my car to any hard drag strip lauches. I'm hesitant in getting this ZF tune in my GT though with the mentioned failures I've been reading lately. Benny.
  12. I've got no idea Steve. I think this is the looney bin thread. Good question from the OP I think.Benny.
  13. I've never tried this as I always use manual mode during spirited driving. Might have to do a test to see if I get the same. Benny.
  14. From what you've mentioned I think you could be on the right track with your diagnosis. Benny.
  15. What an amazing build thread. I'm loving it. Keep up the good work. Benny.
  16. Wombat, I'm sure the Ford engineers have deisgned the ABS and traction control for a specific tyre size and would probably say it's operation will be affected but I've noticed no issues with increasing my profile. I went from a 245/35/19 front to a 245/35/20 front. The only issue that I believe is noticable is your speedo will be out. So essentially with the tyre size you've selected will result in an increase in speed of 3.8% more than before. Now Ford speedos are calibrated to read higher so when your speedo reads 100 you are actually travelling about 98, so with the increase profile you'll be travelling at approx 102 when the speedo reads 100. Benny.
  17. MODEL : FG GT MKII YEAR: 2012 MONTH: Feb TRANS: ZF AJUSTABLE : No Pretty disappointing for the value of the car I reckon.
  18. That will probably happen with any car you buy Corzza. It's the side effect of being a car enthusiest and having the urge to tinker. Benny.
  19. I dropped mine at 3000klm's and did filter as well. Replaced with 8.5L of recommended Castrol Edge 5w20 Semi synthetic which I purchased from Supercheap Auto for $215 for 20L. Part no. WSSM2C930A20L Benny.

    New Gt R Spec

As already mentioned don't be afraid to exercising the engines capability, you need to load it up to put pressure on the piston rings so they bed into the bores, just don't go doing circle work bouncing it of the limiter for extended periods. Keep an eye on your engine oil level as this engine does use some. You will the find the engine is quite tight when new and tends to use more fuel, this will improve with kilometers. Benny.
  21. Lol, no I'm not that nieve. More reliable than 430+ Benny.
  22. Woooo go the pandas. Sorry back on topic.
  23. I have injectors ready to go with the flash tuner in the garage. I wont be aiming for the most power that is possible but would prefer to have reliability. So with that is mind I'm thinking 400rwkw will be sufficient and safe without risking engine failure. GT in standard trim seems to be averaging between 310 and 330rwkw depending on the dyno. Tune only will see the limit of injectors which is around the 370-380rwkw figure. To make much more power than that overdriving the blower is required and good gains can be made. If you don't drive the blower harder then you can't make more boost. There is only so much power that can be made by opening the bypass valve more. Certainly good power can be made without intercooling but more can be made with one, plus there is improved reliability with more consistant power production.Benny.
  24. Depends on profile really but with say a 30 I'd say 275 max. 285 would be too baggy I reckon.Benny.
  25. Oh dear, I'd be looking for a different tuner in this case. Benny.
