  1. Trying to take into account all your interests here. I think you should by a VL and put an RB26DETT in it, then you'd have the best of both worlds. Failing that what plonky said seems to be a great idea having the special edition cars that are actually worth keeping.

    BRAKE SHUDDER ISSUE

    My old car was a series 11 Au fairmont and it had brake shudder constantly until I replaced the pads with a good performance set. Shudder then disappeared and never came back.
  3. I can't see any reason why the computer would know any different when installing the second intake. The T works of a map sensor not an air flow sensor therefore it wont know the difference. I dunno whether this mods going to make any change to hp but anythings worth a try I suppose.
  4. Dunno about Saleen but I left my calipers on and just rotated the disc as I painted. I used a piece of thin card board cut to the circumferance of the hub to stop overspray getting on the rotor face.
  5. When I put my 18's on I removed the dust covers, wire brushed all the rust off and painted the brake hubs with high temp paint and it looked great. Now I have DBA 4000's that don't require painting and a set of standard painted rotors sitting under the house.
  6. I've got an auto so I'm not exactly sure about this but you'd be pretty dam close to 230Kl/h if doing 4000rpm in fifth. I can pull about 172Kl/h in 3rd without drive. On a private road of course. Maybe your speed limiter is playing up.
  7. Surely you couldn't make a 320kw falcon and try to sell it for $90k if it only ran a 14.8 down the quarter. If these figures are true then I'll lay down on the ground and you guys can do rude things to me. Overall I think the car looks great except for the wizbin lid on the bonnet and I think it's a bit over priced.
  8. I got a K&N and it works fine with a little bit more induction noise but nothin to be too concerned about. I've cleaned it once with the K&N cleaning kit.

    What's Going On?

    I'm not saying that the skyline should have won over the T seeing the T has so many more features but what everyone needs to remember is that both cars are of quality build and have quite good performance. Why is it that people critisize all jap import cars just because there are a heap of jabbers out there that wack stickers on them with over the top body kits. If you take the time to look over some of these smartly engineered cars you'll see that not all of them are jabbing pieces of crap. Ok now I prepare for the onslaught of replys. I do love my BA

  11. The Porsche Boxster has 204bhp, weighs 1250kgs and does 0-100 in 6.7 sec. I hardly find that impressive for a car that costs so much. Sure it has good handling characteristics and build quality but the GTP would have to be a smarter buy with money left over for enhancment goodies. Boxster S different story.
  12. The K&N filters were in some cases causing rough idle and poor performance in wrx's because the oil would come off the filter and stick to the Hot Wire air flow meter. This wont happen in the XR because it uses a MAP sensor.
  13. It might be an idea to check your intercooler piping to make sure you haven't blown a hose off. Also have a general look in the engine bay for anything loose or disconnected. If nothing looks out of the norm then take the car to your dealer.
  14. I've got mine lowered 2 inches all round with kings and I don't have any problems with bounce at any speed. If I plan on running the car at the track then maybe get shocks to reduce lap time but just for the street I'm happy with standard. Having a lowered car does require careful driving when encountering driveways, speed humps etc but don't be afraid it just takes some getting use to.

    There are lots of cars out there that are quite capable of running against a T. You just have to know the right people and the destination.
  16. Sounds like the same problem I had Cro. Mine was replaced about 3000ks ago and I haven't had a problem yet. Good luck with the new box.
  17. Save your money guys I'll come round with the 12 gauge and fix your vermin problems for alot less than the cost of a sun roof. You'll just have to explain to the neighbours what the noise is all about. :banghead:

    Skyline R34 GTR

    Yep got that video and it's awesome. I saw Croydon Wholesale's R32 run a 8.55 at Jamboree last year and I got that on video too. Simply amazing cars. Keep the mods coming APS and we'll be hot on their tails.

    There is no doubt that the T is a great car but when you compare them to a GTR they are no comparison. The GTR is a world renowned performance car that is very hard to fault. The RB26DETT is one of the strongest engines every built and can widthstand quite large amounts of HP without internal mods. Also remember that it's not just hp that makes a fast car it's how the vehicle performs over all and the GTR is amazing. But like everyone has said so far modifications and repairs are very expensive and finding resonably price insurance is nearly impossible.

    Turbo ute.

    When your car leaves the factory the speedo is calibrated to read about 3-4% more than your actual speed. This can be recalibrated on the WDS to be exact if you want to have it that way. I've left mine just for some buffering.
  21. Don't waste your money it's all a load of crap. They tried to sell that stuff to me by sending me into a hot lookin chick pooring herself all over me. I say save the money and give it to APS for some upgrades. that's my two cents.
  22. Mmmm yes I see your point there. But I don't know whether you could get that much torque increase with just some intake mods and only that smaller boost increase. Could be true though.

    new 18" tyres

    I got Bridgestone 235/40/18 So-3's. Little bit expensive but the best griping tyre I've driven on.
  24. Info from a reliable source told me that the F6 has a fully remapped ecu to adjust boost to 10psi and has the same cut out re-programed but at a higher value to limit torque. Don't quote me on this but I'm sure he said it was getting the 8's gearbox.
  25. I think you are best off taking it to the dealer. I've heard from friends at ford that it's a bit of a pain in the ar$e to do. It's done at the rear wheels.
