  1. I ran my FG turbo for 2 years at 340rwkw and around Wakefield Park with 300rwkw on the standard pump and had no issues with surge. But if you want piece of mind then a Walbro intake should be all you need. I'd suggest going to Walbro 400lph or even 460lph rather than the 255lph. Benny.
  2. Traction will also depend highly on the tune and how it's written. If 500rwhp is your aim and a strong mid range tune is used then you'll struggle to find any tyre that will hold regardless of the width unless you use a Mickey Thompson on a preped track. A semi slick tyre can be used but they come in limited sizes, wear quickly and can suffer from heat cycling and going hard on a daily driven car. My suggestion would be to select the wheel that you'd like to have and then find a quality tyre with the lowest tread wear rating to suit. You'll find the best way to maintain traction in a rear wheen drive car with that much grunt is to simply modulate throttle. Benny.
  3. Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Benny.
  4. The RT615's are ok but not an amazing tyre. Just make sure you get some heat into them before getting up to the line. When they wear out then get yourself some MT ET Streets, they are very good for drags. Benny.
  5. Michilen Pilot Super Sports seem to be one of the ultimate street tyres at the moment. Benny.
  6. Yes. If you're going to remove your BOV then all exisiting connections into the induction system will need to be blocked up. Benny.
  7. From what I've learnt the safety of the ZF tuning depends alot on the tune and how it's done. There still needs to be some torque reduction on shifts so it's advised not to remove it all together. One of the common failures after tuning is breaking the input shaft. If you do tune the ZF then I think the common recommendation is to budget to replace this shaft in case of failure. Benny.
  8. Happy Birthday Benny!

  9. Very nice piece of kit. But why did they install injectors and exhaust for 400kw? They got fleeced. Benny.
  10. That does look unusual and not the same as a factory FG exhaust. It is a sedan right? I don't know what the underside of a ute looks like. The factory sedan system has a flange after the cat and then splits into two to travel either side of the tail shaft before joining back into one before entering the centre muffler. I don't believe a BA/BF dump pipe will fit as the position of the turbo is angled slightly different between the two. Benny
  11. Go a winter white GT. They are awesome, haha. Whichever car you choose I'm sure you wont be disappointed. Benny.
  12. My previous FG ran the factory pump for the 3 years I had it and no issues with surge even when at the track. The swirl pot design is very good at keeping the pump supplied with plenty of fuel. If you want to go to a bigger pump for safety sake then a larger intank is the easiest and still remains legal but wont lessen the possibility of fuel surge if that's what you are concerned about. You'll just be able to supply more fuel to the rail. If you go down the path of a bigger intank then I'd suggest a Walbro 400, which is what I've fitted to my GT. Something you have to be wary of though when installing a big pump is your fuel rail pressure increasing which can increase the amount of fuel your injectors are supplying. You may need to upgrade your fuel reg or adjust your tune. Benny.
  13. If the box needs to be rebuilt I'd suggest sending it to Nizpro rather than Ford rebuilding it with stock parts and charging you an arm and a leg. Benny.
  14. Great show, love it. Benny.
  15. Has anyone tried the Wavetrac? Not 100% sure if they make one to fit the Fords yet but they look very impressive. Benny.

Yes different grade oil and a number of other checks related to the turbo, piping, exhaust etc. Benny.
  17. If you are in Perth then I wouldn't go anywhere else other than Simon at XFT. A flash tuner will be about $700 and I'd think the tune would be about $700 as well. $1400 is the going rate for this work and worth paying if you want a reliable tuned car. Considering how much it would cost to rebuild an engine after failure from running a generic tune I'd say it's money well spent. You'll see a max of approx 270-280rwkw from factory injectors so they are a must. My advice would be to install injectors, high flow cat, intercooler + piping and tune. This will max the oem GT3576 turbo resulting in approx 320-330rwkw. Benny.
  18. Great result Kev. You must be proud. From what I saw the strip surface was very poor. They swept it but the cars just kept tearing the stones from the asphalt. A mate of mine was still wheel spinning at the 400m mark. Benny.
  19. Unfortunately it wont fit. I thought the same thing when I sold my BA and bought an FG. I'd take it off and keep it for a rainy day. Never know when someone here might be looking for one and you can get a couple of bucks for it. No point giving it away to a dealership. Benny.
  20. Yes the solenoid is controlled by the ecu. With only 10000k's you may not see an improvement from cleaning and lubricating it but if you want to do it anyway it's located near the battery. Follow the hose connected to the front of the compressor housing, this should lead you to it. One way to check your car's ability would be to get along to a dyno day when one comes up and compare it against other standard cars. I wouldn't worry though and suggest to get yourself some parts and head along to a tuner and crank that bad boy up a bit, lol. Benny.
  21. The box could possibly fit as they are similar but I don't believe there is space under the headlight in the FG to accommodate the F6 cold air intake . I'd suggest to fit the larger GT lower intake to the FG air box in the car. Benny.
  22. Z2TT, I assume the car isn't brand new. I would suggest disconnecting the battery over night to clear the cars memory. This will make it forget any previous driving habits. Reconnect it the following morning and go for a drive. The car will learn all your habits and you may find it is more responsive. Another quick thing to do would be to complete some maintenance on your boost solenoid by spraying some WD40 in it. This will ensure the solenoid is opening and closing correctly as they can get a bit sticky over time. A few mods and tuning will make a huge difference to the car regardless of the above, you'll have trouble getting traction anywhere under 60kph I'd say. Benny.
  23. All depends on the size pump you use. You may need to change the fuel pressure reg. This goes for any car whether it be tuned or not. Benny.
  24. FairlaneG, What power are you aiming for? If not huge numbers then a quick easy and relatively cheap upgrade would be to replace your current pump with something like an Aeromotive 340. http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/fuel-pumps/11142-340-stealth-fuel-pump-offset-inlet-inline/ Benny.
  25. Soon will be. Mark at Streamline is a good operator and quite a smart guy. He is the State Walkinshaw dealer, which I don't think they would get just anyone to do. He's also a recommended tuner for Rob Herrods parts. Benny.
