    Dba 4000 Rotors

I bought my 4000's for 175ea and that's cheap. They are direct replacements for the standard rotor 298mm.
  2. I've just purchased the Extended New Car Warranty because my car is 3 yrs this month. I got another 2yrs and up to 100,000 Kms for $995. I think it's good insurance just incase you have a major failure. They ask you if you have mods when you sign the papers.
  3. You'll find that both hoses on top of the rocker cover are plumbed into the intake. The front one as you say plumbs in before the throttle body and the back one plumbs in after the throttle body(up undernieth). If your mainly worried about oil in your TB then the front one is the right choice. If you worried about loss of performance due to the oil then both will need attention.
  4. I've had Bendix and took them out a week after installation, not happy. If anyone wants them then make me an offer. I've now got Ferodo's and they are great, no shudder and are very fade resistant with the DBA 4000 rotors.
  5. The oil catch can stuff has been covered before so a search should bring up some more stuff. Just quickly though.....with a forced induction motor after time you get what is called Blow Bye which is air being forced past the piston rings. This air then travels through the block and back up through that little hose you are speaking of and back into the intake. This is bad because having oil in you intake air will decrease the oxygen content and therefore decrease performance/economy etc. This oil is also known to collect dirt in the throttle body and in some cases cause throttle issues. There are quite a few other people here that have noticed this oil in their intake piping. Oh and the PCM wont know any different because all you are doing is removing the unwanted oil from the air.
  6. What you want to do is to install an Oil Catch Can in that line which will remove the oil from the air before it gets back into the engine. But the simplest thing would be just replace it.
  7. There are many unmarked cars out there driven by all sorts of police people but I think the main ones we need to be concerned about are the one's kitted out with all the HWY radar equipment. The others I don't really care about. I think alot of the time cars are given the tag of an unmarked car without actually seeing who's driving and what equipment it has, I know my car has.
  8. They've just taken delivery of a new Black Turbo in the newcastle area. Looks quite good actually. I think it's the first unmarked turbo they've had, all have been SS commodores.

I think they might mount the radar on the drivers side in the corner of the dash like the unmarked cars.
  10. Max Power, Do you have a pick of the compressor wheel we can look at?
  11. I'd say that for the CC to operate correctly you need to match the total resistance of your new LED circuit to the same of the old incandecant circuit. So as what has already been said you need to measure the resistance of the old globe and make your new installation the same. This can be done by adding a resistor in series with the globe.
  12. A friend of mine just did my 45k service at ford and the car didn't need to be in any special mode. He used a vacuum type device hooked up to the compressed air and sucked out the fluid from the reservoir and at each wheel. Then just fill it back up and bleed the air out by pumpin the peddle.
  13. I'd hate to be the person that has to issue a punishment to the driver. I just don't think anything I could think of would be enough punishment for all the pain that he has caused due to such grose negligents.
  14. Just a quick question.....Does anyone know or heard of tuners adjusting the spark retard on gear shifts to allow the boxs to handle more torque. I was wondering how it's done and what sort of gains can be achieved.
  15. They are designed like this to protect the drive line. It's so people can't rev them up to 5 grand and drop it into drive.
  16. Make sure you use high temp paint that you get in a pressure pack and just use a wire brush to get the rust off. Then clean with thinners or metho.

    Dump Pipe

The best for exhaust flow is to have a screamer pipe which is exactly the same as the normal wastegate splitter but doesn't plumb back at all. Sounds really good when you hit full boost and the gate opens. But unfortunately isn't something you'd probably want to run on a regularly street driven T.

    Ba Issues

That burning smell is quite common after a spirited drive. It's not just brake pads but something else which I'm not exactly sure. I noticed this smell was considerably worse when I had a new gearbox fitted by ford after the last one gave up. As for the rough idle mine will also do this sometimes when first started. Makes me think the whole cars going to shake it's self to death. But after about 20 seconds it seems to get it's firing order right and come good. I think your problem doesn't sound as bad though. I'd suggest you probably should take it in for a reflash.
  19. I think there are two different types of Goodyear F1's. There's the Goodyear Eagle F1's and there are the Goodyear F1 GSD3's.
  20. As Eugene has stated there is nothing cruel about getting slugged with a centre fire hollow point round. You wont even know what hit you. I don't belive in shooting other people pets so if it's not in a built up area then it's fair game.
  21. Yeah that lead poisioning is a real killer. Especially when it comes in the form of a 150 grain hollow point 308.
  22. The back will also need adjusting if you drop it on it's bum. Ask FAT-SIX he has big camber on the rear but can't be fixed yet because the XT's don't have camber adjustment. The Control Blade IRS is better than Holdens FE2 but you'll still have camber issues when going very low down to the rim like you say.
  23. Here is a few pics that I took on the day. Thanks for organising the day Eugene.
  24. The camber can be adjusted on the rear of the XR when a wheel alignment is done. I think the major factor that you need to consider when lowering the rear alot is the small bump stops that are located on the suspension arms. How much will need to be cut off them and what clearances/travel you'll have after it's done. With the SSL's the bump stops have to be trimed but with compressing them again they might have to be removed all together.
  25. Cro What price did you pay for the Pilot Preceda's? Might be a good option for me.
