I would be very cautious doing this. If someone runs up your ar*e at night and the cops arrive they may just realise you'v tinted your tail lights and the blame could be put back on you. I know in NSW it is definatily a defect. ADR would state a certain brightness required by your tail lights.

The tracks I've listed are not legit tracks so if you ride at them then you have to be quick on two wheels if your not registed.

Hillsborough Quary has a bit of a circuit with a few jumps. This quary use to be the place to ride years ago with big tar ramps etc. Actually featured in one of the Crusty videos. But most of it got demolished due to legal liability reasons with the land owners. There's a few trails out at Sugerloaf/West Wallsend. Benny.

Yeah yeah Dagabond. Can't wait to get mine. Wheels, dumped and tint.

Pat, It's a bit hard to determine what colour looks good due to them still having all the crap on them from delivery. I'm not a huge fan of Vixen but each to their own. The Octane one looked ok.

Ok guys just got back from Ford's holding yard in Newcastle. These have just been delivered. No Turbos unfortunatily. Benny

SweetXR Leaseplan quote that I received was this: Basic Price $42,718.18 Fleet Discount -4,057.00 Dealer Discount -800.00 Lux Pack 4,545.45 Prestige Paint 363.64 etc Obviously this could change between fleet companies and dealers.

I'm with dule and eaxrsixturbo, the LSD makes the car alot more predictable and easier to control. But in saying that for the regular Jo that hasn't had the practice in steering a car sideways then the single spinner is the go. Indicates by sound that a wheel is spinning while keeping the car in a straight line. The NA XR6 doesn't come with an LSD unless it is optioned.

Sorry but can someone post a link to this video. I've looked on the Ford site and the three videos they have I can't see the wheels.

Can anyone tell me where I can find a pic of the optional 19" wheels that come in the luxury pack for XR6T FG? Apparently they're 19x8 and have 5 spokes. I've looked on the Ford website but can't find anything.
-
The prices I have are through Leaseplan so probably no good for comparison for you. They do have pricing on the ford web site. Follow link attached. http://www.ford.com.au/servlet/ContentServ...4&c=DFYPage The leather in the XR6T is stated as sports leather, different to the G6ET I believe.

Correct they did test at Lang Lang. On 95 ron fuel. G6ET 0-100 in 5.1 and 0-400 in 13.3. XT ran 0-100 in 6.8. That's all I know.

Hey Pat count me in +1 Thanks, Benny

Well guys I'm confident in the source of information so I'm steering away from one and going with an XR6T with the luxury pack. Found out the luxury pack consists of leather, premium sound, bluetooth and 19" wheels etc. So this should make it closer to the G6ET inside. He also said that running the old Typhoon next to the new turbo was amazing how much better midrange pickup it has with the revised turbo sizing.

Guys, Just thought I would let people know that may be wondering if the new G6ET does have an LSD. I've been wondering this due to me looking to purchase a new ford on coming months. I have been informed from a very reliable source that the G6ET does not and cannot have an LSD optioned. This is due to the DSC/Traction control moduals having a different calibration from the G6ET and XR6T. Very disappointing unfortunately. Also Wheels magazine tested the G6ET the other day and it managed a 5.1 0-100kl/h and a 13.3 qtr. This was on 95ron fuel. The XR6T and the G6ET have exactly the same engine calibration and very similar transmission calibrations. The XT 5 speed managed a 6.8 0-100kl/h Regards, Benny

Again everyone thanks for your opinions. XRTPSI thanks for ya thoughts. The Typhoon will look hot from the Factory but I like to be a little different and maybe have a hot lookin G6ET. I'm just going to wait I think and attend this viewing Senna T is organising before I make my decsision. That's a little while to wait and I'll probably have very few BF phoons to choose from if that's the way I go but really don't wanna buy the BF and wish I'd bought the G6ET. Also going to talk to an engineer friend that works at Fords proving ground and see if the G6ET can have an LSD optioned.

Thanks for the feed back guys, appreciated. I'm not concerned too much with the FG being the mark 1. My BA was a mark 1 and it wasn't a bad car, even with the brake shudder which was easily fixed with DBA rotors etc. I understand it's going to take a little while for the tune houses to get the new FG sorted out but I think the engine and running gear is essentially the same as BF. The BA when first released was completely unknown territory but I think we know alot more about the FG to speed up the modding development. The turbo is a little smaller but I'm aiming for around 350rwkw so hopefully this would still be acheiveable. Not sure about this though. The other thing is I know how good the BFII Typhoon can look but unsure of how a G6ET will look with big wheels and lowered. I guess I really need to wait till I can walk around and sit my bum in one. Well thanks again for the advise and keep it coming Benny.

Ok everyone I need your thoughts on what to do. I sold my BA back in October and have been waiting oh so long for the new FG. The time is drawing ever close to purchse the new car but I've had second thoughts on what to get. Should I wait and get the new G6ET or purchase a run out 08 Typhoon. It seems that the pricing for both will be similar so that's not a real issue. My concern is if I buy a run out Typhoon then it's essentially going to be the old shape as soon as I get it. The advantage is I'm getting quite a substantial discount for a new car that I'm sure will not disappoint my expectations. Especially when I put the Nizpro stage 2 kit on, . Now with the G6ET I will get a car that will be new in looks for a couple of years and have all the new bits and peices that make everyone go ooooo. But it'll need some lowered springs and big wheels to suit my tastes. The other thing that really makes me cringe is the rumours it wont have an LSD. Not good when I start craving more KW's. Please give me your thoughts and maybe I can stop laying in bed at night running this through my head. Cheers Benny.

I think with most tyres around the $350/400 mark it's hard to see a big difference in performance over the more expensive brands on the street. There is a definate difference to the cheaper $250/300 options though. From my experiences with tyres you really understand the extra costs involved with the more expensive options when the road is wet or the car is being drivin to it's utmost limit around corners. The times you are glad you paid that extra money is when you accidently come into a corner well over cooked and still manage to come out the otherside. Other factors that govern paying that extra money for a good tyre is tread wear. The old S03's I use to use stuck like all hell but when it came to tyre life they were shocking, 18000k max. Just my opinion.

Most Radar Detectors that are sold stating they are undetectable are usually only undetectable for a short time until the police upgrade their RDD's. I had a unit for about two years that was detectable and I didn't get caught. That doesn't mean you wont get caught, just luck I'd say. I don't think the police spend alot of time in suburban areas running around with RDD's.
-
So do you think I'd be able to get a G6ET with a Police Pack, hehe. I'm really disappointed by this no LSD. Gonna make it sh*t for a G6ET putting out some big HP.
-
Like the old Fairmonts which didn't have an LSD I doubt the new one will either. I think this is due to the traction control system that is used. I think it's a four channel system which will allow abs to be applied to each rear wheel independantly to prevent loss of traction. Just my thoughts.

Becareful changing the plenum on an N/A. They are designed in a way to have a variable intake length which improves low down torque. Installing a plenum like the ones you see designed for the turbo would not be an improvement down low. Might find it becomes very doey. If you've got a variable intake design that's better than factory then go for it.

I think Ford should purchase the VR38DETT out of the latest Skyline. Now that would be impressive. On a more serious note, I think the new V6 has alot more opportunity for improvements in the future but it seems to lack torque.
