    Gt E

I really liked the flat deck spoiler on the BA/BF but not entirely sure about the FG. Kinda makes the boot look a little narrow. Just my opinion though. I'd still be happy to drive one.
  2. I think the changes you are refering to are mainly differences in gearboxs from your old car to the new one. As Pat has said the car will learn to your driving style and probably improve and change it's shift patterns etc. By the way don't be afraid to stick the boot in.
  3. the surge tank cv fitted today has the option of fitting a second pump just by removing a bung, this will be added when my atomic donk gets fitted. I BFHOON, Can you tell us what surge tank C&V fitted? Benny
  4. The new motor is going to be a Barra motor I'm guessing? What horse power is that turbo rated at and are you going to modify the turbo housings at all?
  5. Sorry I ment this has got to be a joke. If not your a crazy man.... Benny
  6. Pod filter and vent your BOV to atmosphere. I'd be putting the pod filter in an air box type design that's been seen around here, supplied by some cool air.
  7. This has got to be a "G" up..
  8. I'm pretty sure they'r the same box in the Turbo and the N/A. Someone else might be able to confirm this.
  9. As everyone has already said it was a great night. Thanks Pat for organising it all. Was a long drive for me but worth it to see the cars and meet some of the forum members. Here's a few photos from me aswell.
  10. Just wondering if anyone out there can confirm the offsets of the new FG, is it the same as BF. I want to order my wheels and they take 8 weeks to get here. Thanks, Benny
  11. I think the exhaust may have been something like this. Not sure though.
  12. Doing it right now. Good thing to fill in my short lunch break.
  13. I think any mod to a vehicle that isn't OEM and not original ADR then it's a defect unless you have an engineers certificate. I'm willing to run the risk. Benny.
  14. Thanks for the replies guys. I'm going to sell the 19's that come on my FG to get something different. So I need to decide what tyres and what size to put on the rims I've chosen. Any good suggested brands and est prices for grippy 275's? I thought about keeping the tyres off the factory 19's and using those for just front replacments and buying 275 SP Sport Max for the rear. Not sure if this is a good idea yet. Benny
  15. Guys, Just wondering what's everyones thoughts as to what KW are 9.5 rear wheels and tyres required on the XR6T to maintain decent traction. Now I know it's going to depend on how agressive your tune is and also what tyres and road surface but I'm trying to decide if I get 9.5 rears rather than the normal 8's when I get new wheels in the next month or so. Are people getting enough traction with just 8's on the rear after mods etc. Thanks, Benny.
  16. Does anyone know the offests for the new FG? I'll be selling my wheels off mine when it arrives.

    Need Some Advice

What qualifications do you have and what type of things are you interested in? Obviously XR Turbos but what else? I find the people that are really good at their job and enjoy doing it are people that have a personal interest in it.
  18. I had DBA4000's and Ferodo pads on my BA for the 4 years I had it. For street use I think these were a great combination and a cost effect option. Managed to get around 50 thou k's out of the rotors before needing replacement. Never had any problems with fade or warping. If you want to do track work then I'd aim for something bigger. Dust wasn't that bad but if you want good pads you'll have to expect more than standard. Benny
  19. I like the new 19's but I think I'll sell mine when the car comes and get somethin else to look a little different.
  20. June 30 and mine has been ordered since end of April.
  21. I've ordered mine with the Lux pack. Looks somethin like this.
  22. MVP I think you'll find that the standard XR6T doesn't really have that "pushback" feeling that an Evo has mainly due the 4.0L six having quite a bit of torque in standard n/a format and the power coming on at a linear effect. I think you should really base the quickness of a car by it's quarter mile and roll on times between speeds. This will give a clearer indication as to how fast a car really is rather than the "pushback" feeling you get in cars where the boost comes on alot harder. I'm sure once you start uping the boost and torque in the XR then you can definately achieve that push back feeling depending on how it's tuned. Just my thought. Benny.
  23. Think you might be refering to Brian's car. It was smashed but not sold to someone else. All parts were removed and placed in a Typhoon. Brian, where are you? Details are in another thread. Welcome back by the way.
  24. I'll start off by saying Pat thanks very much for organising the day. It was great to meet you and see Brian again. I nearly didn't make it due to so many things to do. All I can say is I'm so glad I made the long trip to come down and have a drive of the new FG Turbo. I can agree with all the statements Brian has made about the car. The interior is much improved from the BF with lots of impressive functions. The acceleration is impressive for a standard car I think and the sound from the exhaust and turbo is quite good. One thing I did notice is the Turbo seems at it's limit of traction when accelerating hard from a stand still. Not many cars acheive this in factory trim. Brian I would like to thankyou very much for giving me the chance to drive your Typhoon, feel quite privelaged. What an impressive car to say the least. You say it's your slow car but there's nothing slow about it in my opinion hehe. The power delivery can be so well controlled with throttle input. But as Brian demonstrated and I found out for myself wheelspin comes on effortlessly at 4000rpm stepping the rear out in no time, no wonder you needed slicks to run that 11 sec quarter. All in all I had an awesome day thanks guys. Can't wait for my FG to turn up.
