  1. Without knowing how Herrod's dyno reads it's hard to tell if that figure is good or not. Need a Herrod dyno factory FG Turbo figure at the wheels to compare. Benny

Hopefully Ford does the same with the new blown 5 litre. Benny
  3. I don't think it will but you could modify by shortening it some what. The Nizpro pipe runs from the throttle body down to near the air box. You might be able to cut it and use a silicon joiner between what you have and it. Benny
  4. You can buy the two hoses straight from Ford that fit perfectly. Basically you need to tap into the water going to the transcooler. So the oil cooler and transcooler go in series one after the other. Benny

In the past I've heard Nizpro state the difference between their engine dyno and at the wheels a loss of around 22% for an auto. Benny
  6. Rhino the Nizpro intercooler kit I have replaces this pipe with a very factory looking black pipe with sensor etc. Not sure if Simon will sell them seperately. Benny
  7. Yeah I'll have to see how I go and if available. Sounds good though.Benny
  8. It was interesting to see a standard 315kw GT run up not long after mine and made 250rwkw. The old XR's definately make more than 270 at the engine.Benny
  9. Evos are great and I've looked at a number of them recently wondering what my next car will be but what you get for your money is really poor. It's practically a base model Lancer inside with evo engine and drive train. Can't beat Jap build quality though. If you want a strict performance trackable car then the Evo is the go. If you want a daily driver with creature comforts and grunt then the Falcon is the pick. Benny
  10. This thread could go on forever, haha. I'll throw in my 2 cents. If you want a 10 sec drag car then either car will be fine but money is going to need to be spent on both to achieve that goal. Now I'm going to be seen as biased as I have one but I'd go the FG. I drove both when purchasing and the FG is much more advanced in handling and design from the BF. The FG turbo can easily be upgraded for not too much and the exhaust manifold provides better throttle response. As you can see below mine is making 340rwkw up from 254rwkw standard. So if you do buy an FG there is no reason why a gain of 86rwkw from standard isn't achievable with the right tuner and parts One thing you'll find is the FG turbo can come on very strong and therefore may not be the best turbo for a 10 sec pass as getting a clean start may be difficult. Not sure if a 10 has been achieved yet with a XR6T on stardard turbo? A bigger turbo like the 35/40 will be easier to get off the line and have more up top to give a better mph down the strip. So all in all I'd go an FG with an upgraded compressor housing. Benny
  11. Passed ya yesterday down at Elebana Mitch, I think.Benny
  12. Changing intercoolers isn't really going to increase power without a tune. With a bigger cooler the car will produce more consistant power in varying air temps. So the feeling of lost performance on warmer days will be less. As for changing the XR cooler for the F6 one I've heard it said before that this will make little improvement. The F6 core is taller but the XR core is fatter so they are much the same in volume. My opinion is to go for an after market cooler from one of the site sponsors. This will make your car more consistant and less likely to detonate when pushed hard. Benny
  13. Pretty sure all FG's are steel. How did you go with the ZF service Rhino? I'd be interested in doing this to mine but I'm a little concerned of stuffin it up. Benny
  14. After the two I've seen recently written off at Ford I'd never buy one of these. They're not afraid to drive over anything. Benny
  15. No. Sorry the nuts go on the studs that hold the dump pipe on. As you say the studs screw into the exhaust housing on the turbo then through the dump pipe flange where the nuts are put on. I'd install new studs and crush nuts. Benny
  16. I think they might be M8x1.25. Not sure on length. Someone else might be able to confirm. Should use crush nuts as well. Benny
  17. Not cheap at a bit over $1200 but very good quality and custom made. You'll need a custom tune to do this though. Benny
  18. Here is a pic of my dump pipe and cat with factory rear section and all mufflers in place. Benny
  19. Yep the Thai wall plate is exactly as you descibe. Just need an adapter, works well when I'm there. Benny.
  20. My opinion is if you want a good note and not too loud then I'd say install a dump pipe with cat. I'm really happy with mine as it's not loud at idle or when cruising but when you get the boot in the car sounds like a jet fighter. Great for daily driving and also sounds good when you want it to. The standard FG exhaust is 3 inch I think. Benny
  21. Yeah this happens when they get some good heat into them. Mine had done the same. I've sinced polished it and it's back to normal, for now anyway. Benny
  22. I don't have signs of this in mine. Would be good to see pics of what you are experiencing. Benny
  23. Begs the question how much power is too much? I'm always thinking of more power but will it make my car any faster? I think my car was faster 0-100 with 300rwkw. Now it's much faster up top but you gotta be very careful down low. Benny
  24. I doubt they would change from the other FG wheels. So I'm tipping they are +36. Benny
  25. We gotta go sooner than that. I can't wait that long , lol. I'm sure your car is plenty capable with the work you've done already. Will be great to see your progress over the next few months as the project continues. Benny
