I found the traction control intervention in my FG 1 to be quite good for street use. It allowed some wheel slip and the car to step sideways a small amount but still allow good power to be applied to propel the car forward. Obviously if I was aiming to drift or power slide the car up the road then I would turn it off but for all other applications I found it good. I've had it even save me once or twice in the wet in third gear when I wasn't expecting loss of traction. At the track is another story though, I had to turn it off to be able to lap at better times and found it to be to intrusive. I think one thing that can affect how intrusive the traction control is is the quality and grip of your tyres. The worse your tyres are the more intrusive the TC going to be, as expected. My BA on the otherhand was atrocious, it would intervene quite badly and prevent any sort of power to be applied to the wheels which would make it very difficult to get the car moving out into a small gap in traffic. My new FG 2 I will have to report on when it arrives this week. Benny.
