  1. 245/35/20 Front and 285/30/20 rear. This gives an almost exact tyre circumpherence front to rear.Benny.
  2. They are Zumbo's same as mine. +30 front and +40 rear. Benny.
  3. Building your own kit wouldn't be too hard I don't think but that depends on what resources you have available to you. The most difficult part of manufacturing the kit I have would be the plenum spacer. But if you went without that and drilled the holes in the plenum for the cooler hoses then it would be much easier. The kit really just consists of hoses, clamps, cores and a pump. If you want to attack this yourself then I'd suggest finding a kit you can measure up to manufacture your own. Benny.
  4. Will 10.5 inch wheels actually fit under the rear of an FG sedan? I've got 10's and couldn't imagine fitting anything wider under there. Benny.
  5. I had the same decision to make and really you can't go wrong with either. The deciding factor for me was I've owned a turbo and wanted to try something different so went the GT. Power delivery is completely different and the sound is awesome. Benny.
  6. You could try a better tyre. Semi slick or the like. Benny.
  7. Timetaker, If you want to keep with the standard profile of 35 then the widest tyre you could go to would be 255. What you gain from this would be minimal so I'd suggest going to a better quality or softer tyre. If you want serious grip then going to a semi slick will get the grip you want but obviously tyre life will be greatly reduced. The other option is a quality street tyre with a low treadwear (UTQG) this will gain you a greatler level of grip but at a cost that may make you cringe. In addition to the tyres listed so far in this thread I'd add the Bridgstone RE050A which has a UTQG of as low as 140 and also a good option a few here have taken is the Nitto NT05 or Invo, great price and good grip. Benny.
  8. Thanks guys. The old Zumbo wheels are too good a value to pass up. Quality seems quite good so far as well. I compared weights of the stock wheels & tyres and the new set. Factory wheel and tyre weighs approx 24kgs, new 20x8 with tyre weighs 24.5kgs and rear 20x10 wiith tyre weighs 27kgs. MiKa the mods done so far are in my signature. Next stage of mods are on the bench in the garage which is pulleys, injectors and Xcal3. Benny.
  9. Hey Guys, I just got some new wheels and coilovers put in. I'm happy with the look so far and the handling is much better. Benny.
  10. +3 here. I just had my coil overs fitted by the guys at Penrith (arranged through Pat) and they did a great job. Excellent customer service and was invited to join their Friday BBQ as well. I'll definately go back there again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. Benny.
  11. What other mods does the car have? If there are no other additional mods with the tune then I believe it will run fine. Benny.
  12. Mr 4.0 what you are saying is very true. Some of the best oils on the market will turn black much sooner than other lower quality oils due to them operating more efficiently and keeping the carbon contaminants in suspension. My old FG Turbo use to keep the original oil colour quite well until atleast 5000ks but my new GT has very black oil at only 3000k's on the clock. This bears no indication of the oils ability to lubricate and protect the engine.Benny.
  13. I had a 4 inch dump and 5 inch cat on my FG Turbo and the increase in volume was only slight at idle and cruise. But at WOT is was quite a bit louder but sounded awesome. This could've been attributed to the increase boost from the tune though. Really made people stop and look. Benny.
  14. Thanks K31th,Sounds doable with your explanation. What HID's did you buy? Do you have a link? Thanks, Benny.
  15. Anyone tried to fit HID's to the FG MKII? I'm keen to fit some to mine. Benny.
  16. The F6 does have an oil to water heat exchanger which is mounted between the block and the normal 6 cyl oil filter which is an AFL101. Benny.
  17. The police here have access to radar detector detectors which can be used at times within HWP vehicles. Best thing you can do if you have a radar detector is to switch it off when you see a police vehicle. These days I think there is less and less need to have a radar detector. A laser blocker is more useful. Benny.
  18. Congrates Duncana, Don't be soft running in the car, make sure you give it some and bed those rings in well. Benny.
  19. It isn't going to be just a matter of bolting this thing on. Quite a bit of other fab work is required to plumb this into the factory turbo and exhaust. Benny.
  20. I'd see how it goes over the coming week. The pump could be stuffed but it could be just air in the system from the fluid being too low. Benny
  21. Happy for now! Wont be long and you'll be craving more. You're only human. These forums are great for identifying the best method for modifying and saves you thousands in failed attempts at finding more power. Benny.

    My Big Mistake

I'm sure you wont ever be disappointed with the Turbo. They are an awesome piece of kit. Couple of simple mods and it'll be a rocket ship, with some mid range punch to embarrass most high end sports cars. Benny.
  23. With short 20min trips to work and home in traffic I'm averaging high 15's and on the open road I'm average low 9's so far. I've heard this will improve when the engine is run in. Benny.
  24. I have a GoPro and it's awesome for recording car footage but isn't very good at night or very low light conditions. Benny.
  25. Is the car tuned? Without a doubt Jim at Tunehouse can fix this. Mine use to do the same. Benny.
