Hi, Thought I would send SCT an email to let them know we are not happy. The more complaints they get the better. Status: Message successfully sent To: <rickt@sctflash.com>, <charlie@sctflash.com> Cc: <www.capa.com.au@localhost> Subject: Ford Flash Tuner Xcal-1 To SCT, Just wanted to let your company know that your decision to turn off tuning software for the Xcal-1 flash tuner has caused a lot of concern from all parties who went out and purchased this product. I understand that you have had issues with this unit and breaches have been made in terms of its use, but at the end of the day consumers of your product are to suffer. I will be very reluctant in buying any more of your products. If I buy the Xcal-3 version who is to say that in a few years time you will switch this product off line too. Disappointed Xcal-1 owner,

Hi, I was in the same boat, but after looking around I spent the extra cash on a BF and havn't looked back since... Well until the FG came out!! Drive both BA & BF and see what you think.

Good to see something a bit different from the norm. Enjoy your new wheels.

I fitted my coller to a stock car no tune and only noticed a slight power difference. It was several months before I got the car retuned and then I had a good power increase. May as well put it on now ready to go.

I say good luck to him with the asking price hope he gets it or comes close. The amount of money and work involved to get a car to this level it's got to worth something, just my 2 cents worth!

Hi Spin, Any chance of posting some pics of the new ride height. I would like to lower my BF XR6T but only on the rear. Thanks.

Looks good, for the money I think you have done well. Good stuff

Hi there, Funny how Ford responds by saying here’s another one. My brother in-law is getting his car repainted now for the same problem 05 BF. He found out through a friend that he could claim his paint work which was starting to peel in places under warranty. I have a Mercury Silver BF and I must say that this being my first Ford the paint quality is poor. I am concerned that this problem may not only be with Shockwave Blue? You would think in this day and age Ford could paint a car properly! Cheers Daniel.

I contacted David from KPM about using incorrect Dyno formats to increase rwkw's. He told me that he used the correct mode for the xr6 turbo and that Shoot 81 is the older format and has now been replaced by shoot 6F on newer model dyno's. He also said that there would be little difference in power readings between the two modes. At the moment I'm not really too worried about dyno figures the car is running well and I am happy with the increase in power. Cheers.

Hi typhoon_freak, The only other mods I have are Monza style FMI and K+N air filter and typhoon lower intake. On stanadard tune with these mods the car made 232rwkw, so does a custom tune with injectors = another 70 rwkw? Attached is the Dyno printout? Any comments welcome.
-
The car has now been custom tuned with larger injectors. The A/F ratio now sits fraction over 12 all through the rev range on 10 psi and is making 306 rwkw. The power is very progressive and makes max power at 5200 rpm dropping off at around 6000rpm. So now it makes more power at lower revs and does it easy and safely. I was told that it made over 320 rwkw but was slightly detuned for reliability.

Had the car put on the dyno to test the Capa generic tunes to ensure all was running well. BF 6spd auto - Mods so far are Monza style FMI, K+N air filter + typhoon lower intake. The result I was given was not to run the Capa tunes due to the A/F ratio going to high. They did a power run stock and it made 232 rwkw. Loaded in the 8psi tune and made 279 rwkw. They would not run the car with the 10 psi boost level as they said it was not safe. When I looked at the dyno chart the A/F reading on 8psi looked to be in the high 12's, I didn't think this was too bad? I was advised that the A/F ratio should be 11 - 12? Any feed back on this. I now have the car booked in for a custom tune and upgraded fuel injectors. I am hoping for 300 rwkw.

Hi all, I ordered a Capa flash tuner yesterday from Capa. It was delivered today. Haven’t had much time to drive the car much yet, but boy does the power come on hard and fast. I loaded in the 10PSI tune straight up. From about 3 - 4 grand found myself going sideways the first time I put my foot down at about 40 km/ph nearly sh!t my pants. Think I'm going to try the 8 PSI tune and see if it's a bit smoother on the power delivery. Have others found that the power comes on really hard and fast and struggles with traction from any speeds lower then about 80 km/ph? (Might be time for new tyres). I don’t know what the future holds for the X-cal1 but I bought one anyway. Hopefully if I get a custom tune down the track I can still use the box. Mods to date are K&N filter, Typhoon lower intake, Monza style FMI and Capa Flash Tuner. Cheers.

Hi Matte, I have a question for you. When you put the pod air filter into the BA airbox did you get a good induction noise? I have just fitted the F6 lower intake and a k&n air filter. I was hoping for more induction noise. Thanks.

Daily driver for me. Why wouldn't you want to drive one on a daily basis? Cars should be driven not parked in the shed.

Hi Dagabond, there seams to be no end to your endings! Good work, I like the last you can't park there. Keep em coming.

Hi guys, my name is Daniel. I have spent way too much time on this site already. Bought a BF turbo a few months back and will have to replace the rear tyres soon! I seam to have traction issues. I am enjoying my car and this is my first Ford after a long association with Holden’s nearly 20 years. Love the turbo power, great site very informative and a good read. - Cheers.

Upgraded from VX Late model camira 6 cylinder. Nothing wrong with the car just wanted a change and something with a bit more power. BF XR6T did the job. Before Late model camira and Kids R33gts - very nice car good just to small for my current needs.
