I figure once I fit my cooler ect, Warranty is gone so I'l be servicing the car myself. The intervals between services is 7 500k's and the oil used is castrol full synthetic. Once car is tuned I'll be servicing every 5 000k's. Or is that too often?

Thank for the help guy's when I fit my new intercooler this weekend I'll be doing service myself using 10w 40 nulon.

Yeah I found it hard to believe myself. Am glad I found this out before I get my tune done, as I would be more concerned if I had say 320rwkw and find out it has been using the wrong spec oil. :o

Hey guy's I'd like to get some opinoins on what damage my motor may have had with the news I got today. I have been taking my fg xr6t ute to a workshop for servicing and today found out that the oil that has been put in my ute for the past 18 000k's is 5w 30 oil. I give it a good squirt most time's I drive it once or twice and did my first gamy little burnout in 6 months last night. And when I asked him why did you guy's put that oil in when the manual says 15w 40 he said It doesn't matter what oil you use as long as it has oil in it. And yes I'm serious A trade qualified mechanic told me those words. time to change who services my ute.

Yeah good read lawsy, Do you have recommendations on how often to change diff and gearbox oil's? I have nearly25k in my fg xr6t and was thinkin of getting my diff and gearbox oil's done. As it will be getting some work done in the next few weeks? Cooler kit, injectors and hi-flowcat.

Yeah, lucky it was at my sister inlaws place, Left it there sunday nite. Tow truck was there at 3pm monday, As I asked. Free of charge, Ford fixed it the next day, Very happy. But they must have thort I was that dude on austin powers. I will never tel you, unless you ask the same question 7 times I can't help myself and will tell you on the 8th, lol

Basically mate, Was built late july. Picked it up mid august. Got car back from ford today, It was a loose wire on the control module. Is good now. Ford did annoy me with all the questions. Felt like I was being interogated by the 5 0 lol. What mods have you done? Has any of ya mates done anything to it? are you sure??? blah blah blah.

Hi guy's I am wondering how many fg's have had this happen. Yesterday when I left supercheap, Just after I started my 08 fg xr6t it said on the dash cluster (dimmer light fault). Car ran fine, figured I'll ring ford today. Left supercheap and went to my inlaws place for half an hour. When I was leaving car tried to start but it just stopped. It then said on the dash Car immobilised, now car won't even turn over. I disconnected the battery for 10minutes. Tried again but same thing but it also says on the ICC screen security system failure. WTF

I've had an oil leak from my timing case fixed, no problem mechanically other than that. Ford can't fix the effin base of my drivers seat though, they have had it four times and it's still f##ked.

Can't you get an lsd in a g6e as an optional extra?

I take my fg turbo ute to ultra tune, My 15 000k service cost $160. Using ford parts, oil filter ect. Got my 22 500k service due soon, Getting them to change gearbox and diff oil aswell. Ford in toowoomba can't even fix my seat. 4 times they've had it and it still isn't fixed
