Hi I'm looking at up grading my brakes. I currently have the premium ford package on which is good. I was wondering if it is possible to put your front brakes onto your rear brakes so then I would only need to get better fronts. I have NO idea if this would work I mite be being completely supid but it cant hurt to ask. I looked to see if there was a previous thread for this but I couldnt find 1. Im sure some1 will know Thanks

Hi guys They are in now being polished $800 including paint behind face of the rim in a dark grey so it doesn't show up brake dust as much. I will post some pics once they are done 1-2 weeks. lucky I gotta mate with spare XR8 18s for me to used TY to him!

Hi Iv got 2 quotes so far $1000 and $700 for the set to be polished. Going to get 1 more quote and see. I dont wanna do it myself if I can help it as I REALLY dont wanna stuff up the rims cause they aint cheap to replace and I really like 'em. They both said the main cost is inbetween the spokes as that has to be done by hand so its more a labor thing.

I have the MAXXIS MA V1 245/40/18s on my car at the moment and if you look down through the tyre threads theres 1 called '18inch tyre woes' that's mine where the tyre is 'falling apart' the tread is coming away from the carcass both rears more so on 1 side. is there any big difference between the Z1s and V1s Erko?

Hi XRDOSE Yep! if you take off a rear wheel and clean the inside of the rims is, on 1 of the spokes it will say 'rear use only' they did it for the GTs so they had a tuffer rear end look. BUT you might have 4 'front' rims so it would pay to check hope that helps

Hi I have seen theres a few threads in reguards to valve springs on BA Ts but my Q is what type? I have an 03 (nov build if that makes a difference) and am wanting to get just over 300rwkw. Would rated phoon springs be enough or cause I gotta replace them go a better/stronger aftermarket type? Also can I do springs before I do mods with out affecting engine? I would think so being that they are just better but it cant hurt to ask in case it does hurt the car. Thanks

Hi I have a set of BA GT 18's that from the previous owner are ALL scratched to which is impressive since you cant put the back rims to the front due different off set, THEY PARKED BY SOUND!. Iv got to get tyres done so I was going to get them cleaned up and re-painted but I had a thought has any1 had the rims polished? how did they come up? because they were always going to be painted from factory I heard that the cast quality maybe dodgy? what sort of cost? any1 got any pics of this done? 2ndly if I do re-paint should I go standard silver or something different? My turbo is mercury silver and I was sort of thinking to go with maybe abit of bronze added to silver? any thoughts welcome the more ideas/thoughts the better Thanks

HI every1 Took XR into pedders told me that its the tyre falling apart nothing to do with the rear end IRS. So I will replace both tyres get a wheel aline then see how she goes Thanks

hi When you mean engine oil cooler do you mean trans cooler? Did you have to bend anything out the way as in AC pipes and like to fit as with other aftermarket ICs? got any pics of your set up? Thanks

That would be great if you let us know what sort of gains you get plus what tune shop thinks of the cooler that would be to cool for school

If you look at it on Ebay it shows a whole heap of pipe work so Im guessing both sides but im not sure Im no expert Im only looking at low 300rwkw max as its still an every day car ( which means theres no way the missus can drive it and boy do I luv my XR ) so If it only can do up to 320rwkw its fine with me but yes I was looking going that a GOOD price!

Hi Was looking on ebay and came across an intercooler set up for XR6T 'HDI INTERCOOLER KIT - FORD FALCON BA XR6 TURBO - HYBRID' (sorry I dont know how to link) being sold by performance wise claming it can handle up to 600HP and its only $620 including post!. cooler looks a bit on the small side has any1 got one of these kits? are they any good? what sort of power have you got out of them? looks like you also get both side piping. any1 have any thorts to the kits?

Sorry if me greymar aint up 2 scratch. Cant take it back I bought it interstate 2nd hand so its up to me. I had the cars wheel alignment done when I got it . Its lowered but nothing silly, it pasted inspection going from state to state rego Iv seen cars alot lower. If its the tyres de-laminating due to a bad batch of some sort what are the chances that someone elses BA doing the same tyre groove thing and they have a different brand of tyre? Iv booked it in to get looked at on monday will post up what the verdict is

Hi Today I jacked rear side up to see if there is anything that could be rubbing (couldnt get hands around with it on the ground) the ONLY thing that could be rubbing that's in the same spot as the tyre wear would be the top bolt for the shocker which is 4-5cm away from tyre at stand still which I doubt the IRS could roll that far through a corner? Im at a loss as its on both sides so the chances of both tyres giving way/ ing them selves seams un-likely but you never know I guess. thought I would ask cause you never know if some1 else has come across this before guess I will take it in2 pedders or something see if they have any ideas. Thanks to those that had advice/posted there thoughts

Hi sorry I didnt add that its at the back on the very edge of the tread not on the tyre wall? I noticed it when I 1st got it 4-5 months ago very slight checked today and WOW! mate told his son just bought a MK2 BA XR8 with factory 18s and has very slight rub mark???? any one here work at pedders?

Hi I have a 03 BA XR6T sedan that was factory ordered with BA GT rims and HERROD lowered springs legal height (standard shocks) tyres are 245/40 18s. On the very inside of the tyres on both sides more so on the passengers there is a groove that's quiet bad the tyres would have 50% left and this groove looks lie its not far from canvas? its rub? my brother has a commonhore (yeah I know ) and he says his wears on the inside but this doesnt look like this. Friend also said it could the tyre de-laminating/ coming away from base? has any1 come across this before? any ideas? I would like to fix the problem before I replace the tyres. Iv taken a couple of pics where my finger is it would be 15mm wide 5-8mm deep.Any help would be great Thanks
