  1. yeah that pretty much does it haha! excellent work there!
  2. Hey guys, just wondering if anybody is heading up to deni this weekend for the ute muster?
  3. Hey guys, Just wondering who's out there that can explain why forged pistons and rods etc are so much better and stronger than normal cast ones. Are there any other advantages aside from strength like heat transfer or something?? are the cast and forged made out of the same metal? Just thought I would pose the question as maybe a few people can learn some things about it!
  4. I didnt think the falcons let you put the car in a different gear whilst its revving, so you cant rev it up in neutral then bang it into drive, I beleive it is controlled by the PCM and it wont select the gear until the revs come down. Maybe its only at speed though because I know over 5 - 10 km/h if you select a different gear it wont work until you slow down. Ahh well to hell with auto's, real men drive manuals
  5. yeah senna is once again correct (man he's good at this game!) haha, but whatever you do don't mix coolants! if you mix 2 coolants they MAY react with each other and turn into glycol jelly in your cooling system!
  6. Are the Dekas on ebay real? even though it says they are real would you trust them? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SIEMENS-DEKA-60-INJ...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. haha oh I hate it! do ya reckon you could have taken him with your 263rwkw? I dont think these people understand what you have to do to an N/A Engine to get decent power, even if it is an 8! doing 1 thing wont do it, you need to do several things to promote better flow amongst many other things. Some people just dont get it.
  8. the F6's do but I'm not sure on the 8's
  9. ok then. With the surge tank do you have the stock fuel pump in the tank and have the better fuel pump with the surge tank? I've read the bosch 044's?? are really loud, I guess this is because they are outside the fuel tank?
  10. To do a 6 speed manual conversion in a BA do you need a 2 piece tailshaft? I only say this because the BA MKII's were the first 6 speed boxes and these had 2 piece tailshafts, I've never seen a 6 speed box with a 1 piece. Or does it have a 2 piece already?
  11. RAP1D how much can you do a set of 60's for?
  12. depends if you want 5 or 6 speed manual. Being a BA a 6 speed conversion would take a lot of work and $$$, and correct me if I'm wrong but a 5 speed manual wouldnt take much more power than a 4 speed auto.
  13. haha I should, it'd be the best decision I've ever made haha!
  14. this dude said he'd bet his car that he would beat me haha maybe I should take him up on that!
  15. haha thought this would be appropriate http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50109
  16. aahhh ok then I didnt think you could turn launch control off at all. I must give it a try one day.
  17. haha yeah I'm pickin up what ya puttin down, I know what you baked bean!
  18. This is a very cool feature, it gives you maximum grip without wheel spin, but the launch control, paired with traction control, sure its quick, but it takes the fun out of driving haha. Very good feature though IMO
  19. haha excellent work. Yeah I'm not sure if it was LS1 or LS2 but he said it was a 5.7lt so whatever that is. Yeah its always the mates of mates isnt it!
  20. ahh well its an N/A Engine which I'm building to be a turbo, so I figure I might as well go the whole hog and have it safe to above 400. Why not hey! So whats this Kllowatt chip he was talking about? does it even exist?
  21. haha that made me laugh. Yeah I figured as much.
  22. G'day guys. Just a bit of a question and a rant. I was at the local publican last night and was chatting to a friend of a friend. Now my mate was telling this bloke about the car I'm buiding, BF Turbo forged bottom end, and this guy told me I was wasting my money. He said that it will cost way too much and it wont be worth it as I'll have a slow car. Now this guy had a VX R8 Clubby and he claimed to have spent thousands on it and it would beat the pants off my car, so I asked him what he had done to it and he told me it had a "killowatt chip" and an exhaust. He said it made 355 RWKW and he had dyno sheets to prove it. These came out standard with 255KW at the flywheel. I'm not sure what a killowatt chip is but will it make that much extra power? I highly doubt it but I dont know for sure. Anyways what do you guys reckon? I'm pushing for 300-350RWKW out of my turbo once its up and running. So is this guy a douchebag or for real?
  23. sorry to hijack the post for a bit, senna_t, I'm looking for an atomic rebuild kit for my turbo, I got quoted $3750 for this kit, can you get a good deal on these??
  24. ok cool I'll invest in some dekas then. do they have different sizes or flow rates with the dekas or just 1 size. They're going for $380 on ebay, can any site sponsers do a better deal than this? And which fuel pump would you guys recommend to handle 300-350rwkw? or will the surge tank have a pump to handle this? Cheers guys been a great help!
  25. I doubt the dealer had just bent the arm as that would probably be a tank out job, correct me if I'm wrong, you may be able to do it with the tank in the car. All cars from new generally have a very high fuel usage reading, so the average fuel consumption is through the roof, maybe it takes a couple of tanks to sort it out and let the computer know that there is actually heaps more kms to be had out of the tank and not 0kms. Anywho glad you got it sorted!
