  1. Some coolant systems, like the systems on some commy's, need to be bled so you don't get air bubbles in the cooling system, however the falcons don't need this to be done. You can just drain and refill. the only thing you have to do with these cars ins make sure you put your heater on flat out when you start the car otherwise you will get air bubbles in the HVAC (heater) unit.
  2. The trip button should be down the bottom of the ICC Unit along with the traction control button, the interior light button and the door locking button. If you press the TRIP button it will scroll through different readings such as instant fuel economy Average Fuel Economy Trip time Average Speed Distance to empty There is no way to get this digital speedo on the BA/BF's unless you plug in a scan tool and put it into "police mode" haha yeah I think its called police mode or something like that, theres also a taxi mode. Truth!
  3. You can plug in a scan tool and set the car to run in a sort of police mode. However this will do other things to the car, the interior light won't work, the indicators dont flash when you lock the car, the horn doesnt sound if you lock the car and a door is open, you lose you instant and average fuel economy on your trip computer. The advantage is you get the digital speedo and some other reading, but I'm unsure of what it is. I think this is the only way to can get the digital speedo to work.
  4. haha yeah that's sh!t is tuff as nails!
  5. wow so 2 new computers! that's unlucky, I wouldn't have thought the 1st new one would have been dodgy! Yeah after you replace a computer in the car, you have to program the new computer to the car so all the other computers know whats going on! They have a special name for it, maybe a parameter reset or something? Good luck!

haha check out this thread http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...43428&st=72 Then you'll understand
  7. yeah the only reason I could see why the yolk was stuck on there was a couple of little burrs on about 3-4 on the splines inside the yoke. these burrs get stuck when I slide the yoke back on and they are the only reason I can see why it would be stuck. The output shaft seems fine, the splines are ok, dont seem to be twisted or marked in any way. Like I said I'm not really concerned about the strength of the shaft, just that the shaft may be out of balance.
  8. Will these kits fit most cars? i might be interested and a mate might also be interested in a set for his AU Falcon if they'll fit!
  9. Hey guys! I finally got around to getting the yoke off my gearbox, all it took was a circular saw! In the process of cutting it off, I accidentally hit the output shafy with the saw. It cut about 1/4 inch off about 4 splines on the very end of the shaft leaving a little flat section where I cut the splines off. Now I dont think this will effect the strength of the shaft as the yoke splines a long way onto the output shaft, however do you think it will be out of balance? It not a very big piece missing but will it be enough to vibrate??
  10. yeah I might mention it to my dealer and see what they say. Once my turbo engine goes in I'll definately need some sort of fix for it, wether its a new setup or a turbo diff. Can the dealer tighten up the diff with shims or a similar fix? I'll see what my dealer says and let you know P.S I dont let my missus drive my ute haha
  11. I've had it up on the hoist and the sticker and the tag on the diff says LSD so I figure they have put the LSD in it. It's coming up to its 30,000km service soon, so If I were to get my dealer to check it how would I go about telling them what the problem is? I don't really want to walk straight in there and say when I try and bag up the rears it just pulls a single legger! Or would I be better checking this one out myself? Cheers guys
  12. Hey guys, I have a N/A XR6 BF MKII Ute. When I bought it from new, I optioned the LSD. How good are these LSD's? I find it very temperamental, When I'm driving, on a private road of course, and I take off in the wet if I decide to give the wheels a bit of a spin, it will generally only spin one wheel, but sometimes both. And if I'm in the dry and I try it, it will occasionally spin both and occasionally spin 1. Paying a fair bit of extra money for the LSD I'm somewhat disappointed that it doesn't work overly well. If I'm going around a corner it will spin the inside wheel up, but sometimes it will lock up and kick the back out. I dont really see a pattern of when it spins both wheels or 1 it just seems to do whichever when it feels like it. Is this normal or is my diff a dodgy one?
  13. there is a TPS on the throttle body in your engine bay, and there are 2 accelerator position sensors on your pedal box. These 2 sensors sense the position of your accelerator and send a voltage signal to your ECU, which then controls the throttle butterfly in your throttlebody, and the TPS on your throttle bodysenses the position of the butterfly. They have replaced the sensors on the accelerator and the engine, and the PCM (ECU, Engine Management Unit, whatever tickles your fancy) so the next thing I'd be checking would be the wiring.
  14. its, or should I say, she's gotta have the whole package, but a good set of getaway sticks never goes astray! Oops, my bad double posted and I dont know how to delete it!

  16. G'day guys, I was just wondering if you can tell me how much power gain I'd be looking at if I got a flash tune on a BA XR6 Ute? Also what do they do to get the power gain? More agressive timing and fuel map? Also does anyone know what the difference was between MKI and MKII of the N/A Ute BA series?
  17. Possibly a wiring problem?
  18. definately good news!
  19. ok, after a bit of research and some thinking I have a couple more ideas. Firstly, Double check the injector plug. They have been known to back out of the injector. if that fails, double check the actual terminal inside the plastic plug on the loom and make sure they are all the way into the pluf as they can back out of the plug causing problems. If they are all ok, then you can eliminate the loom by trying this method. The loom for the injectors runs from the ignition relay to the injector, and the earth runs from the injector back to the PCM where it is switched to ground. If you get 2 wires, run one off the battery (or any 12 volt source) to the injector, then another from the injector back to the PCM A Plug (not sure which pin) then you have completely bypassed the car loom and you will be running the injector off the 2 wires which you knnow are working fine. If you don't want to run it to the injector, run the 2 wires to the noid light and see if you get the same problem. If you do, then its a computer fault. If the problem is fixed and no longer happens, then you have a loom fault. Hope this helps in diagnosing you car!

  21. ok, so the exact same thing happens with the new computer, but on a different cylinder? hmm let me have a think about it and see what I can come up with!
  22. ok, so how aure are you that its the injector? Have you had the little noid lights on the loom to check the injector is getting the voltage or not? You said you replaced the injector, then the coil then the computer? The problem may still be in the loom somewhere. Bad earth is possible a problem, or maybe the input to the PCM from another sensor is messing it up. I would make 100% Sure you know what the problem is, wether its the injector or something else. Hook up the coils and the injectors to an oscilloscope and scope the wave patterns of them, and go from there.
  23. You have to make sure you get a PCM From the same model car, BAmk1 or BA mkII or BF but it doesnt matter if its from a ute or a sedan. If you've already replaced the computer it could be a loom issue.

  25. yeah I would agree from reading other peoples dealer issues on the forum, they have been let down massivly in these 2 departments, service and advertising. Its not that they can't afford the advertising, in fact I'm not sure at all why they have sh!t advertising, maybe its the boffins they hire to make their ads are just retarded, I'm not sure, but everywhere I look I seem to see other car manufacturers spreading the word about their cars, but never fords, who would out class these cars anyway. I guess its just as frustrating for all ford fans to see such a great product going down the gurgler, Such a shame. Advertising rant over
