  2. Can someone tell me where to connect the boost gauge too. A pic would be really great. Do I have to connect it to the small pipe off the BV? Thanks,
  3. ????? I installed it on the end closest to the firewall. (The shorter pipe). Not the pipe that goes under the intake. Which I thought was the return pipe. Is this the correct one?? Maybe a pic if someone has one. This pic may help. Why did you put the blow off valve there?? I put the blow off valve inplace of the old one on the other side of the pipes.

  5. Around the wrong way? It can only go on one way? I unpluged the old blow off valve and the pipe closest to the firewall is where I connected it and blocked the other pipe up. Is this correct? This blow off valve does not have a return pipe.
  6. I have installed a blow off valve with a trumpet. I can hear the air release it does not come out of the trumpet. It is only coming out of the vents on the side? I took the trumpet off and blew through it and it whistled. I ran the car without the trumpet and it makes the exact same noise with it on. What can cause the trumpet not to work? I have adjusted the tension and installed different springs with no luck. Can anybody help????
  7. Thanks for your help, but I am not with a club. :( Am I being too fussy? Should I just put up with the shunt in the gearshift? Is his normal? I have had 3 different people drive my car and they have all noticed the shunt, before I mentioned it to them. Are the tyres under warranty does anyone know or do I have to go to Dunlop and get them replaced?
  8. When I took my car into the dealers and the service manager came for a drive with me and I showed him the shunt through the gearshift and he said it was not right. But I got the usual comment. "It is within specification". Is there anything I can do? Does anyone know if a different clutch has been put into the xr6 Turbo? I had one of the first xr6 Tubos “Oct Build” and I just picked up my new one and the clutch feels a lot lighter. In my opinion the clutch does not feel as strong and gets hot really quick and slips. Can anyone confirm this?
  9. I booked my car in after 2 weeks of getting it because I had a shunt through the gearshift, Vibrating through the steering wheel at 70-120 and I had no floor pegs to hold my mats in place. After I got it back from the dealer, I still had the shunt through the gearshift, the steering wheel still shacked all over the road and there was still no pegs on my floor mats. They did put 20grams of weight on the wheels as they were not balanced. And they also manage to put an extra 26kmh on the clock for me. So I took my car to Pedders as they did my suspension for me and the first thing they checked was tyre runout. And sure enough all the tyres are oval. I have to take the car back to the dealer next Tuesday and see what they say. When I was on the phone to them they insisted that the wheels are still not balanced. Even though they did it 2 weeks ago. The dealer asked who I believed, them or Pedders. I think Pedders. I now also need to get the disks machined.

  11. I'v had my xr6t for 6 months and just traded it in for another. (Change of colour. Just love the employee discount) :D I first got my shudder when I drove to the Great Ocean Road. And again about 3 months later. From what I have been told by different people at Ford it is an air flow problem. There is not enough cold air getting to the disks and causing them to warp. Ford are designing vents to allow air to flow to the disks. There are mixed opinions about if there will be a recall.
  12. I threw a few option's out there hoping for some feedback. I'm happy to meet up anywhere's as long as it aint out past the black stump at the crack of dawn. Actualy drop the black stump bit, the further I get to drive the better I'll Be in it. But I want more than 2 cars going. Who else is going to go? How many Turbo's am I going to see their. Heard it is going to rain. only 24deg and Rain.
  13. Can anyone see a problem in changing the plastic pipes on the turbo to a nice chrome pipes? Using the same diameter pipe. The only thing I could see happening is maybe the metal pipe getting hotter than the plastic.

  15. From what I have found out the steal relieving of the casting was not done before machining. Don't know how true this is, but it can cause the disk to shine up under heat and that could be why the breaks are fading. The disks need to be heat treated to stop them warping under heat. That’s what I heard from the guys at Ford anyway. Is it true that the Premium breaks have the same problem? I was going to make the dealer put them on my car.

  17. since when did the AU XR6 not have LSD. I hate how the BA XR6 doesn't have LSD and will get it on the next one as with a manual it wheel spins too easy especially in the wet. LSD was an option in the AU series aven the AU3.
  18. Has anyone else got a clucking noise from the Diff? I had the same problem in the AU3 XR6 Manual and I had it replaced. But the problem started about 3 weeks later. I have taken the XR6T back to the dealer and he said it is a whiplash noise and it is designed to do that. I don't remember it doing it when I picked it up. If I sit on 100 in 5th gear and take my foot off the accelerator and back on their is a clunk. Expensive Daewoo have the same problem and they have bough out an Anti-Chatter Kit. But from what I have heard the noise comes back after a short while. Has anyone Else Got This Problem?
  19. The XR6T and the 8 are limited to 230. The rest are limited to 200. Don't know about the GT.
  20. Congartulations, l would love to hear your thoughts on the car in detail. How quiet is it, can you hear the turbo singing away? Just how hard does it accelerate? What sort of running in did your dealer recommend? etc etc etc B) Glad to hear you like the manual, we too went for a manual. l have read more negative than positve comments on it, but having not been able to test drive a manual its good to hear you like it. Couldnt bear the thought of an auto, l have had enough of the auto in our TS. CJF should have got his car this afternoon, looking forward to hearing his opinion also. The car is great. Not 1 problem and I have nearly done 1000Kph since last Friday. If anyone has seen an Acid Rush XR6 Turbo driving from Melbourne to Phillip island and then to Geelong last weekend it could have been me. The only thing I have found is that I will have to start thinking about getting shares in Shell. It really like to drink. The steering is a bit heavy compared to the AU III XR6, but it still handles well. The power the turbo produces is unbelievable. It really throws you back. If you really push the turbo hard you will hear the blow off valve, but it only happens from 2-3 about 5000rpm. The exhaust has a bit of a note. Sounds good when you first start it in the morning. The run-in period was “Don’t thrash it for a while.” The XR6 T comes with a free 3000K check. A service costs about $170. They suggested to me when I take it in for the free check that I get the oil changed. There is a little bit more noise then the Series III XR6 but I think that is cause of the 45 Profile tyres. The initial take off in first you need a few more revs than you would in a normal car. And Third gear takes a bit of getting use to. You have to move the gear shift a bit more to the right and up. I am only comparing this to my old car the AU III XR6. The lights in the bumper bar only work if you have your parker or driving light on. They will not operate separately. I have also found if I have the traction control on and the cruse control on the car will break and stick to the speed set if I am going down hill. I have not tried it with the traction control off. The engine gets warmer. It sits about half way and the fan cuts in all the time. What this car needs is a set of 4 point harness seat belts. I would like to see what this car does down the ¼ mile. So I know what I can take on, on the street. B) Hope this might answer some of your questions.

Persistance pays off. :D Might even get it tonight if they hurry up and clean it. The race hasnt ended yet.. my car is at the dealers too I got my car 6:00 Thursday night. WOW. What a machine. This is a great car. I have not found 1 fault with it. The gearbox is very nice. Quick shift. A tight cluch. Very responsive. :D

  24. Don't know if this helps but instead of phoning the dealer all the time, to go the ford web site. www.ford.com.au and then go to contacts and scroll to the bottom and click on live talk. You will get a help desk person and just ask them to look up your car. All you need is the SIDO number. They have done it every time for me except once. Does anyone know the guys name that is the manager of Ford Australia? Just found out that mine has not left ford yet. and it will not be delivered till next week. Will it be quicker if I go and get it with a trailor?
  25. Mine is 2 months late. The dealer still has not got the car. Are they pushing the car to the dealers? How long did they they tell you it would take to get to the dealers? I would hate to live interstate. If it takes 3 days from broadmedows imagin to perth or darwin.
