Hello all I have been thinking for a while about putting some stripes on the ute, im not a huge fan of stripes (run of the mill gt) but these are somthing different and I wanted to continue the blue/black theme of the car I started thinking about them and kind of mentaly talked myself into it so I thought id mock it up with some contact and see what I thought in the flesh They are a "reverse" Monaro stripe ie: thinner then thicker to the inside SO What do you guys/gals think please dont comment on the straightness etc as I said I cut these myself out of contact and put them on myself as a mock up only I think I would like the front ones to continue all the way down but other than that I am fairly happy and I think im gonna go ahead

Ba Standard 4 Speed Auto Trans 280-300rwkw's
bluute replied to Aaron1988's topic in Driveline Workshop
Ive killed one with a lttle over 300rwkw but that was more to do with what I was doing at the time (stalling/launching) and it only burnt out one of the clutch packs which is a relatively easy/cheap fix all I would say is invest in good quality fluid and a tranny cooler and a good tune will make the difference mine lasted a good 6 months of abuse -
Cruise is a top idea I havent seen most of you muppets for ages although if its this weekend ill be working as usuall
-
Manual or auto mate ? you will need a new clutch pretty much straight away with any mods with a 4 speed auto anything after about 250rwkw will start to bother it some will handle more some less depends on the tune and how you drive

Dam I really should proof read my posts I cant believe how many mistakes I had anyhoo check out the Giovanna(spell?) Dallars they are a similar look to the Gauntlets and they will fit large breaks too not much more expensive either
-
I Agree mate dont listen to the nay sayers doesent matter what rims you get they all become popular eventually and you will always see another set I got the first set of Advanti Gauntlets in the state 20" and I got them from tech Nine as you couldnt get them from anywhere else especially BOB JANE 's they are a good looking rim and maybee where dunnie buscuit lives they are everywhere but over here in perth you still dont see them alot just be awayre that they wont clear the upgraded brakes ie: Brembos if you are thinki9ng of theat down the line cheers Fully Sick DOOF DOOF bob jane shopper Bluute

I managed to score a clutch pack (friction rings and plates) from one of my local g/box people for $50 new valves etc im not sure on price or availability the guy just happened to have what I needed there he said they usually just buy a complete re-build kit it sounds as if initially it would have been clutch related as you said it took a while to enguage if the friction plates are worn there is nothing to grip so it wont go into gear you will have to strip the box to find out if it is the clutch packs (mine wouldnt go into third or fourth gears which is controlled by C1 pack but I still had 1st/2nd gear) and as I said the valves need to be pressure tested to see if they are ok so I would suggest going to an expert failing that you could just get a 2nd hand box should cost around the $1000-$2000 mark depending on k's that's what I did as I wasnt sure of the damage initially and didnt want my car off the road for 6 weeks waiting on a re-build I striped my old box and found the damage so I re-built it you will know when you drop the pan if there is a lot of real fine brassy coloured filings and black gunk in the oil you will have destroyed some/all of your friction plates
-
Sounds like its had a hard time mate was there anything in the sump pan (metal etc..) sounds like you may have fried your clutch packs or blown some solonids/valves if it is clutch packs then you could do it yourself (I have replaced my c1 clutch pack) but if you have blown seals in your valves or burnt out solonoids you will need to put it into a shop mate as you will need to pressurise the valves individualy to check them and have the solonoids tested someone else with a bit more expertise may be able to help you more

I would love to have my ute in a magazine not sure if its up to par though ?
-
Shame really I would definately consider one I love the G6ET combo of luxury and power I think the sportier edge would have been good although the extra coin over a g6et you could set one up to be just as good I suppose
-
Just read a little article in latest "Street Fords" about a concept F6-E Basically a Full spec F6 with GT-E interior etc Sounds pretty good and would probably satisfy those who wanted a G6E T but wanted LSD should come in at Sub 80k anyone out there got any more info "Senna"??
