    Toyota 86

After watching that review and seeing a 0-100 in 7.5 seconds it made me realise how slow it really is. My old stock Magna would beat it in a drag race to 100. When an Aussie 6 will beat it I would won't something faster given how "fast" it looks. If I was looking at a very good handling car I would also be looking at the Renault Clio Rs 200 Cup. I wonder which would put down a quicker lap time. Weight and power are near identical.

    Gt "panther"

What will the retuned rear suspension be? Softer springs, less slow speed compression damping, more squat? Will it stop it axle tramping?

There really is no comptitor to the Toyota in Australia. A 2nd hand MX5 or 350Z is about all I could think of. I think the low power and even lower torque would be pretty hard to live with after getting out of a turbo Falcon.
  4. 2 foot sea level rise still screws a lot of people.
  5. Tyres.
  6. What about water cooling them. V8 supercars use a mist of water into the air duct for the brakes. The super trucks that I saw racing a few years ago had massive plumes of steam coming off the front wheels. These trucks had a top speed of 180km/h and must have weighed 5 tonnes or more.
  7. Videos or it didn't happen.
  8. I think most of us would agree the people getting done over on the show deserved it. They all knew or should have know that their cars were illegal. Tint massively too dark, Occy strap holding the door shut, the old falcon was way way over the sound limit. They should also be pulling over old junkers with rust hanging out and blowing smoke. It is things like the original posters situation getting done for 3dB and people getting dobbed in without evidence that is pretty crap.
  9. Did this get fixed for you Rednut? I amm considering getting one in a year or two.
  10. I would check that the bonnet is still securely latched. Wouldnt want that coming open at speed.
  11. The US is pushing to have all all trucks to be fitted with stability control. I think it would have helpt in this situation and in many others. I think it is something that should be looked into in Australia.
  12. We have the same Ecoboost mondeo. A review of the Ecoboost, lpg falcon and Commo and hybrid Camry. http://brisbanetimes.drive.com.au/new-car-comparison/fuel-for-thought-fourcylinder-v-hybrid-v-lpg-20120511-1yg69.html

  14. It looks like the reviews are pretty good for the 4 cylinder. Which is a good thing. Does anyone know how well the gas Falcon is selling? I think if they can't sell the gas falcon they will struggle to sell the ecoboost.
  15. Torque at low RPM is one thing. Throttle response is another. I think it would suck to drive. Not bad 0-100 times though. Why didn't they just put the diesel from the Territory in it.
  16. I just had them fitted to my car 245/45/18. Like Simon said, full throttle in 1st gear after stalling it up and no wheel spin at all. No wheel spin in 2nd in the wet. This is a stock FG auto. Lateral grip feels excellent too. I think the road noise is very good. Not a problem at all. Have only had them at 100km/. Got them from tire rack. Didn't have to pay the GST and duty even though it was over $1000.
  17. I had tried the spare key yesterday with no luck thanks Andy. There were no fuses blown but after I pulled them and checked them all the car started fine. Must have been one with a bad contact. Hopefully it is that simple as next month I am going on a 2000km road trip and I really dont wont to get stranded out the back of beyond.
  18. Will check the fuses in the morning. Thanks Paulie.
  19. Hi My FG Turbo wont start. Went to drive it this afternoon and when I started the car it stalled straight away. The car is auto. It did this twice and then no starter motor at all. I noticed the radio had become locked, I supected a stuffed battery. The battery voltage was a little low so I tried a jump start but still nothing from the starter motor. The jumper cables were rusty so I went to the next option. Swapped in the battery from my boat and still nothing from the starter motor. Battery voltage from the boat battery is good. I have made sure it was in park unlike the popular car wont start thread. Also tried neutral. The starter motor is not making any noise but there are relays clicking over when the key is turned to the on position. Lights, horn, central locking etc all seem to work. Can any body shed some light on what the problem may be?
  20. A much higher speed crash test of sorts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAKS3VkPfD4
  21. How have you found these tyres? I am looking at getting a set in. Pitty the exchange rate has gone down since I first looked at them.
  22. You can have the songs in albums.
  23. I dont have an Android phone but have an iphone for work. There seem to be some pretty good programs for that too which have some more features.
  24. I bought a cheap GPS unit today a Garmin 1390T. Found out when I got it home you can get an OBDII reader to go with it. http://gbr.garmin.com/ecoroute-hd/how-it-works/how_ecoroute_hd_works.html Does anybody have experience with this and is it worth the hundred bucks or so for the reader unit?
  25. Its worth looking at the whole story http://www.motortrend.com/features/performance/1109_2011_motor_trend_best_drivers_car/
