  1. Hi guys, just needing a lil advice on stereo upgrade. Wanting to add an amp and sub to the standard stereo in the FG, have already upgraded the speakers (splits infront + speakers in rear doors). Im looking and buying a Kicker KX700.5 to power the package. Had this setup in my BF but had the RCA mod done, so was easy. Just wondering if I can use the line level input on the Kicker amp to power all the speakers and the sub? Cheers

    My Turbo Is...

BF MK II 04/07 I had to have the ZF Box
  3. Hey Mate I picked up a x-chaser, it was a unmarked highway car from Sale, is a 04/07 build with 60k on it. I had a good look over it before I bought it and its as good as any BF2 out there. Hasnt missed a beat and have had no problems with it at all. No suspension issues, replaced springs to lower it but standard springs had no faults. No issue with rear swaybar or link either. Runs like a dream. What can I say I got lucky. Like any car (new or 2nd hand) you just need to go over it and make sure its in the condition you want. Cheers
  4. Yeah went from 17s to 20s. got some getting used to I guess.
  5. Just put a set of 20's on the car on saturday (pics to come shortly) and as expected my speedo is now out. I was thinking it would be about 4-5kays off at 100km/h. I went cruising on sunday and hooked up the GPS to see how far out it was. I found that it is actually 9kays off at 100, so speedo reads 92 but car is doing 100. Is this about normal? I have 255s on the rear and 225s on the front, rims are 8.5inch wide front and rear. Car is a BF Mk2 XR6 Turbo. Also wondering if there are any places in the western suburbs that can re-calibrate the speedo? Cheers
  6. What a waste, What a rookie R.I.P Barry
  7. Yeah I can see that it wouldnt be worth paying an extra $150 for 10mm of extra tread. I may be able to get a pair of 255's for a good deal, that's why im asking how wide I can go on the 17's. Yeah there are some really good deals out there for rim/trye packages, but I will need to do suspension at the same time, that's what is holding me back. can get a nice set of 19's with tyres for 2k, but need another 1k for suspension. I like doing things at once to avoid the car looking like a 4wd with 19's on it. that's why I decided to spend $400 on tyres for now and save up to do the wheels/suspension mods properly. Cheers
  8. Was looking at getting some 19s for the car instead of replacing tyres, but due to unforseen circumstances I wont be able to afford them at this time . Therefor im need of a new set of tyres for the rear. Just wondering how big (width wise eg 255) can I go on the standard xr6 turbo 17's? If I gotta have 17s they may as will grip a little. Cheers
  9. Hey Guys Over the weekend I decided that I wanted to hardwire my GPS car charger cable so that I didnt have the charger cable reaching over the steering wheel and in the way all the time. I wired up the car charger and it is recieving power, however when I plug it into my gps, for some reason the gps thinks it is a usb connection and the the gps screen displays the gps - computer connection. I have a Mio Digiwalker C520. Any help to fix this problem would be appreciated. Cheers
  10. Hey Guys Attempted to do this customisation today and had some success, but hit a snag. I wired up the cig lighter and it is recieving power, however when I plug it into my gps, for some reason the gps thinks it is a usb connection and the the gps screen displays the gps - computer connection. I have a Mio Digiwalker C520. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
  11. Type S/RS are a good and solid BOV, had one on the skyline and it worked a treat, that's pretty much the reason for wanting one on my T. Figured it had to be done something similiar to the way that you have it, a pipe connected from the x-over to the cooler with the adapter welded to it or like yours. Depending on price I may be intereseted in your setup. Let me know what you think its worth. Cheers
  12. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has a Greddy Type RS fitted to their T's, and is there an adaptor available for direct fitment? Cheers
  13. congrats mate and welcome, T looks the goods Lot of ways to do the stereo, I just finished installing mine, stock setup is terrible. Check the forum there is a lot of good advice around here.
  14. XF Falcon, Yeah the material is there, and was thinking to move it aside, cut out the hole and put the material back there, well that's the idea anyways. That way it looks clean and stock. bluute, good idea with putting in a premo parcel shelf (noope mine isnt) but I actually thought the backing of the seat was metal, gonna have to take a closer look tonight. but parcel shelf might be the go. Cheers for your help.
  15. Just upgraded my stereo and installed a 12inch sub in boot. I have a XR so I have the rear arm rest that comes out from the rear seat. Since the sub is pretty much directly behind the arm rest I was thinking of cutting out a hole where the arm rest comes out from so that the bass flows into the cabin a little better. Just wondering if anyone has done this to their cars? Also would it void warranty/be a defective mod to do? Cheers
  16. Hopefully someone can help. My old mans van has a kenwood head unit in it, and recently it decided to turn off and stay off. I thought that maybe a fuse had blown so I took the head unit out and checked the fusers. All are fine. I plug the head unit back in and it turns on and begins working again. I then start the van and the head unit once again turns off, and goes back into safety mode I guess, as I have to disconnect, than reconnect the the head unit to work again. Will work first time after reset in ACC but once the van is started its dead again. Any Ideas???
  17. quadie I was thinking along the same lines, using a Y connector, but was thinking of splitting the front rca to power front/rear and using the rear rca for the sub. Obviously you have it setup using the rear for rear/sub. You find that the best way to go?
  18. Tried to search for my answer and got lost reading all the great work that everyone is doing with their car audio. Some really great idea going on. What I would like to know is how people are hooking up amps to there premium icc units? I just had the the mod done by ASL and had the rca's installed. I would like to run the front and rear speakers, as well as a sub off amps. Just want to know how people have gone about doing this with only 2 pairs of rca's. Also what combinations people are running with this type of setup. Cheers
  19. As long as im not the only one its sorta ok Yeah taking it in for warranty would probably be a waste of time, just wanted to know if it was detrimental. Cheers
  20. Went to fill up last night and found that the section where you insert the nozzle is loose and moving around. Just wondering if this is a common problem? I have a BF2 XR6T. Cheers
  21. Im just wondering if anyone is using a turbo timer on their cars?
  22. Im now onto my third turbo car. 1. VL Turbo BT1 2. Skyline R33 Gts-t 3. XR6 Turbo
  23. Hi to ALL Just joined the forum (great stuff guys) and picked up my car last week Im just curious about some things and im sure you guys will be able to help me. I have a BF2 XR6 Turbo with the ZF Auto and was just wondering how the auto works on a dyno? Having had manual cars it was easy to hold 4th and give it. With the auto, will it hold the selected gear when in manual shift mode? eg select 4th gear and when you increase speed on the dyno, will it hold gear and not shift into third? Also I have read that with the 4sp auto, some people have installed a trany cooler and underdrives to handle the extra power. Is this also necassary with the ZF auto? Sorry if the questions have been answered before, if they have just direct me where to look. Cheers, Simon
