I use one for circuit days. Was the only one I could get. I put extra vents in it too. Ebay RS focus copies. Does this make me less cool..........

I may be mistaken mate. It's been a stressful week Do these fit FG? http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Tridon-High-Flow-Thermostat-TT2000-180.aspx?pid=299463#Recommendations Edit: already posted above by Arronm

Pretty sure there is a high flow 82deg (180F Tridon part no.) as well. They keep the car cooler in traffic (especially when the thermo fans are tuned to cut in earlier), but at circuit day I've found they only delay the car getting up to temp on the first warm up session only. Once the coolant is over 95 which it usually is for me, it makes little difference as the thermostat will be open regardless of temp rating. Can't hurt putting a new one in though. They have been known to fail and are a cheap part to replace, but crucial for

Anyone Fitted An 18" X 10.5" Rim (295/30) To A Sedan?
nelsonian101 replied to nelsonian101's topic in Wheels and Tyres
Yep, have just been unlucky so far to not post a 7 but it's my goal to get one without any aero. Hopefully May next year when it cools down, then a 6 with some aero. -
Has anyone successfully fitted an 18 X 10.5 rim (+30 offset approx.) with 295's to the rear of a sedan and what was the exact offset? This is my next hypothetical project. To run 295 all round at the circuit. Currently have 275/35 18 all round on 9.5" rims +22 offset but need wider. http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/85736-pics-of-275s-all-round-for-circuit/ Guards are rolled front and rear but could maybe go another 10mm. With 3.5 neg camber at the front, I think a +20 offset would work with 295's. On the rear I'm guessing a +30 offset may work but would it hit here? Can run up to neg 2 deg camber at the back too. Last option is to fit flared guards and have access to the many 18 X 10.5 +15 offsets available.

I was surprised you and your golf cart kept up............ Nice wheels. Do they fit?! Ahem.......

Has anyone else found that their AC has stopped working/lost gas etc after fitting a bigger intercooler? From my understanding, the Intercooler can rub on the Condensor and over time (even months later) can actually wear through resulting in failed Air. Con. Just interested if anyone else has experienced the problem.

4" Dump Pipe. Pro's And Cons. Should I Get One?
nelsonian101 replied to nelsonian101's topic in Exhaust Workshop
Does my 2008 FG XR6T have a 3" dump pipe or 3.5"? So going to just a larger 4" dump pipe and retaining the 5" 100cpi cat with actually reduce low end torque?? This where is gets confusing as this advice contradicts. -
OK, at this stage definitely don't want the expense of a full system and happy with stock exhaust noise. Air : With a GTX3576R, 5" 100cpi cat, 4" intake, Plaz 1000hp cooler. Fuel : Eflex E70, ID1000's, Surge tank, dual rail, regulator, twin 044's, Walbro intank. (Have always had stock dump pipe with the high flow cat.) Will I lose low end grunt with slower spool time with a bigger dump pipe? Not interested in massive power over 400rwkw. Never have been. What I do need is quick spool, low-midrange grunt with a peak of maybe 360rwkw with maybe a high boost 380-390rwkw for the occasional drags. Should I get one? Please educate me.

I recommend the CG lock as a first stage. I used one for a year or 2 and was great for stability until wider slicks were used. Too much hanging onto the wheel then. Next step was a simple 4 point harness mounted to the rear 2 seat base bolts for the hip section. Remove and replace with eye bolts. Rear, shoulder straps attached to the rear seat belt bolts under the rear seat which is very easy to remove. Just cant show you pics because I have 3 baby seats in the back at present and it's a bitch to remove them, but you get the idea. Great thing is the 4 point is versatile. Works with the stock seat belt too. No stuffing with air bags. Get a quick release one as pictured. You can also just use the hip section 2, I.e. 2 point harness with the stock seat belt. You need padding if you run the rear straps too. Cut into your neck a bit as this set up isn't ideal as a race seat. Works very well for me though. Hard to strap in first time. Make sure it's the last thing you do. I.e. trn off AC, traction control first etc as you cant reach anything in a harness on the dash.

Pwr Stepped Intercooler Damage!
nelsonian101 replied to nelsonian101's topic in Intercooler Workshop
From what I hear it was an absolute bitch! Hats off to Seaton and his workmates for getting it to fit. Car is running 5-10 deg cooler already. Both coolant and intake. Will do some more serious data logging when I'm next at the circuit but I know my car very well. Had it from new for over 6 years, 260,000kms and I can tell you now, it's never run this cool! Very happy. -

Plazmaman 1000hp. It's in there, and it's tight!!! Especially with the new 55mm PWR radiator. Thanks to Seaton. -
Mate, that is CRAZY! Glad you made it back to the pits safely. Were you clipping more apexes on that particular day? Same neg camber? Was it downforce related? How many extra kg does the splitter give you? Thanks for posting this. I see a lot of Koya Drifteks at the circuit without issue.. The custom offset makes them attractive. Wonder if David from Post #94 has had issues too. He runs Drifteks.

I have since changed the front of mine with parts from a V8 brute ute. (Inner fibreglass shroud to hub/enclosed circuit) Problem is it may be ineffective and restricting air flow to the rotors? For the 2015 season, I will be using pmu 335 fluid (always fresh so the dry 335deg bp is vaild) Also trying some proper floating rotors from Shockworks. Making the duct intake bigger as well. Brake pads will be rated a bit higher to 920deg. Problem always has been the brake duct intake with the limited space on the front of the intercooled turbos compared to V8's. Worse on mine as both foglights holes are already used up with oil/tranny coolers. Pics of my current set up below which will change again in 2015 as I try and improve it.

What track was it?

I'd love to do Qld Raceway.Never been there. Scatterbrain is quick there though! Have a few of us doing Wakefield trackdays now though. We organized a big one 7th of September last year, and had a few guys turn up which was great.

That's a bit of a difference! I know when I took some rear springs out of my car one side (I think it was the left) had compressed quite a bit more than the other. The cars tend to squat on the left and lick the rear out to the left don't they? May compress the spring on one side more than the other. Rotating LHS to RHS springs could be the problem unless the diff is not aligned.

Whatever the Fenix is. 42 or 46mm from memory? Think I have the same as you? -

They are around $1200 for the cooler itself. About 5 days build time. -

...and here it is!!! As "Seaton" mentioned, perfect 76mm thickness to squeeze in the 55mm PWR radiator too. It feels light as well which is very important for my requirements. -

Well track day at Wakefield is over and it was a 28deg day. Intake temps were at 55deg most of the sessions. Cruising on freeway were at 5 deg over ambient as a reference. No pb but consistent low 8's again. Car was down on Power for sure and I am getting a Plazmaman 1000hp fitted next week. Cant wait to try it out at the circuit next year! -
Getting a Plaz 1000hp fitted next week. Nice circuit upgrade from my current PWR Stepped.

Maybe my tune? Residual E70 in the surge tank? Happened every time though. Eventually just ran E70 all the time though. Such a better fuel!
