  1. I'll bring mine over again for you to test drive mate. Spiro did a more aggressive tune on it which I like for the street at part throttle. We can flash a few tunes in it and you will feel how they are completely different.
  2. My apologies, didn't read the ute part.
  3. Depends on how serious the events are you are running in. I've run a 4 point harness on mine over the stock seat for years at track days, over the top of the existing belt. Don't trust it that much! Just used a CG lock before this. 4 point helps a great deal. These cars are too heavy to attain the corner speeds of lighter cars, so this set up is adequate. Being a daily driver I prefer having a comfortable stock seat too. Big hassle with air bags to remove completely. At the time, couldn't find a harness bar for FG. Replaced the rear seat bolts with eye bolts. Have the rear seat belt bolt replaced with eye bolts too. Run a harness through the top of the seat. Use extra padding. Set up is not ideal but big improvement from the stock seat.

  6. Yep, but am too old/scared to put in a decent time on these sort of ballsy road courses. Think I finished in the bottom 10 cars, but having said that, there weren't exactly any slow cars there either!
  7. Better result this round. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zObn7rnL9Y0
  8. Good write up the teams here. http://blog.nulon.com.au/2015/02/nulon-nationals-round-2-28th-29th-of-march-2015/
  9. I competed at 2 rounds last year. Wakefield and the airport run at Cootamundra and I've got to say; awesome atmosphere, awesome event!! Unlike anything I have ever done. Grass roots, amateur event for the average Joe Public forum member; be it in a HSV, mx5, Evo, Skyline, 86 or whatever. The vibe is electric and relaxed at the same time. Each competitor proud of his/her chosen badge, willing to showcase what it can do in a number of disciplines. Khana, Circuit, Hillclimb, drags. However, what the general public and car community don't realize, is how fast these xr6 turbo family saloon cars really are! As many of you know, mine's my daily driven work car, circuit car and occasional drag car (soon to be Hillclimb car end of March) Spend some $ on suspension/brakes track time, and you have a track weapon that will surprise Evo's. http://www.fordxr6tu...nd-for-circuit/ Really looking forward to the next round. Will do my best to do Ford proud.
  10. Dunno mate. I reckon it was you. 1.12 is a tidy time considering your front tyres (limited mod list compared to mine), and plenty of street Evo's can't match it. I was there however for the Natsoft (2 day) Ultimate Track Challenge with the MR2 club 12th and 13th of January. Beat every Evo there, so it may have been me.
  11. The H21 won't bite as hard as the H16 03. Much lower coeff of friction. They will last a lot longer though, and are a bit more stable at very temps. Those prices are great though. http://www.pmuracing.com/?page_id=2
  12. Good choice mate. Did well in the recent MOTOR mag test too.
  13. Best I have used as a circuit only front pad by far is the Project Mu H16 03. 5 sets I went through but expensive. Great everywhere. High Coeff of friction. Expect to pay over $6-700 fronts only and they don't last long. Transfer a lot of heat to the front discs too but stopping performance is exceptional. Next best are these new Circo M171's I am trying out. Not quite the bite, but more durable, over 900deg rating too. Also look at Hawk DC70, Endless PC35 if wanting a decent road track pad. Always compromises though. poor cold bite and noise. Look into a proper floating rotor set up too. Shockworks now have one that fits Brembo's. (proper directional rotor vanes too) Fluid. Need a decent synthetic. Castrol SRF has a high wet bp but if you change/bleed it often (not as important), highest dry bp I could, find and what I currently use is Project Mu 335. All expensive kit, but necessary to get the best of your current calipers. A lot of Alcon 6 pots in the country now after SEMA if price is no option.
  14. What calipers are you using at the front? I can recommend you some pads in my experience if using 4 pots. Also how did you go with the rear tow hook? I may need one too.
  15. 8.5" +33 offset will be better with 245 tyre. +20 to +30 offset would be better for the front.
  16. Just did the MR2 Ultimate Trackday challenge and the car seems to be leaking exhaust either from between: 1. The block and exhaust manifold (Metal gaskets were recently replaced) 2. Exhaust manifold and Turbo (One bolt was loose but tightening makes little difference to sound. Turbo was recently serviced too) Just interested if it's obviously 1 or 2 above. Getting a mechanic to check out next week. Sounds worse in this video than from the cabin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85wRBT4Xbo8&feature=youtu.be
  17. Was a great day. Highly recommended! A bit wet and patchy in places on and off with some rain, but did get some dry line laps in. The Ford ended up with the quickest time of the day. (See Natsoft : Click on Circuit racing) Unfortunately started raining for the last 4 cars to go out in the hot lap shootout. Snuck in a very slippery 1.18! http://racing.natsoft.com.au/results/
  18. Upgrading fronts alone is fine. Depending on which caliper you choose, make sure your wheels clear. Plenty of 18's that clear Brembo's available now. If you've just done a track day with stock brakes, your fluid will be boiled. Change it to anything with a bp over 300deg. Wet bp is important if you don't change it that often. Look at the new Shockworks 4 pot Monoblocks too.
  19. I'm taking on a heap of MR2's in this event below, plus a heap of other cars in about 2 weeks. Modified Street Class. http://www.ultimatetrackdaychallenge.com.au/?page_id=275 Looks like an awesome event! 6 tracks in 2 days. Hill climbs. Circuit. Special Stage Tarmac Rally etc. Will let you know how it goes.
  20. masda74, Those rotors were dba4000. Only because they are cheap and I have to replace them twice/year. Moving to a proper floating set up from Korean Race importer Shockworks in 2015.
  21. The rotors don't warp and the glowing only occurs with race pads in. I've spent a lot of effort to improve this under braked circuit car with the 4 pots. Now have proper floating rotors and am trying some new fluid with the highest bp I could find 335 deg. Modified my ducting too. New type of pads rated to 900deg +. I've also put some lighter bonnet struts in to prevent the warping problem.
  22. Like how my number plate was blocked on one pic and not the other. Doesn't worry me though. Damn fine looking car.................if I'm honest.
  23. No. I was the first to buy one years back from Fibresports who no longer exist.
  24. A FG rear diffuser ad is still on ebay using my car.
