had the tyres whitewalled the other day - was at a mates house and he was gettin his done so it was a bit of an impulse thing. not sure if it reall suits the car but its too late now. thought I would post it here as well to show how it is sitting after a few months on the pedders lowered springs.

sorry I missed your post... the extra power is fine unless u want to go sideways with both wheels smoking or do burnouts that wont get u laughed at for only being single leggers. I'd love diff upgrade but it will just mean I lose my license from doing burnouts everywhere haha. for normal driving its fine

I have pedders springs in mine on 20's and im happy with the ride. most of the extra harshness/noise and loss in steering feel will come from the profile of the tyres and the extra weight of the rims more than the springs in my opinion. they took a couple of weeks to settle right down but now is sitting about 40mm lower and looks great.

thanks for that, fingers crossed on an update that puts songs in correct order. its been driving me nuts, I even started renaming all the songs with the correct number in front but that is a very slow process

Well up untill the other day my ipod worked perfectly in the car but now it wont work. The Ipod registers the connection and even starts to play a song for a second and then nothing. The screen just stays on Aux. The other guy at my work with a G6Et has never been able to get his to work unless he plugs it into the seperate Aux. plug in front of the shifter. Gonna take it in to the dealer when I get a chance but thought I would see if anyone else know's what is up

orrie, yeah mate I'd be happy to take u for a bit of a strap. I work just around the corner from Elite. we r on Beaudesert Rd. Otherwise I live in Capalaba. PM me to sort out details if u like vfast, it's hard to say on economy cause I cant keep my boot off the pedal long enough haha. I was expecting cruising to be better due to leaning out the mixtures so much but so far I havent seen that. at best I'd say it is the same. definately uses more when u boot it As for it not holding boost up top, the turbo is either too small or the wastegate spring needs to be stronger or it needs more intake/exhaust mods to help free everything up to get it to hold 12 psi to redline. I'd say it is a combination of these things. our turbo is about 540hp compared to 700hp in the BA/BF's so it still should be able to push a bit over 300kw atw with supporting mods. I'm not sure what the wastegate spring is on the turbo's now but uprgrading to a 12 psi one would surely help the factory boost control out

I had a custom tune done on my G6E turbo last week at Elite Automotive. went from 231atw to 264atw on 12psi. I wouldnt hold boost up top so it drops to 10psi. Going on what I've read about the BA/BF's a high flow cat netted another 10-15 atw so if the same were true here it would be pretty cool although when I mentioned to Tony about doing this before the tune he didnt think it was worth it and told me not to bother. the tune alone is bloody great though, idles, drives and sounds just a little louder/angrier than the stocker. heaps more fun without the trade off of noise that ruins the whole point of the cruisy luxuriness of the G Tony and the Elite boys are legends by the way

mine does the same thing although not all the time. its some sort of problem and not normal. a real pain in the a$$ car looks awesome in white by the way! makes me wish I waited for a white one

I love the idea of it but mine plays up heaps in my G6E turbo - same with the one my mate has :( sometimes the music doesnt turn off and then it says call ended and then it usually comes fine. its a major PITA when I'm trying to speak to a customer or something n I can't hear em over the stereo anyone else have the same problem?

mine will work fine one day and then barely the next. I have had problems with both incoming and outgoing. usually when u make an outgoing call the music stays on while dialing and then mutes as soon as they pick up but this doesnt always happen. then it tells me the call is over and then it eventually starts to work??? its def. a PITA

pedders make the springs. not 100% sure on the offset but pcd is same. pretty sure offset is same as well. here are some more pics of the car with a real camera. I didnt have time to go somewhere with good lighting yet though.

if u run it in hard it will perform better. maybe not for quite as long though

I know it would look better lower but why are people saying only lower the rear??? its sitting level now. imo it would look bloody stupid with the rear way lower. never understood why people do that. what am I missing?

def. not the new 300C to me either - and I agree with above the the front end is nowhere near as nice as a GTE. the GTE is the perfect looking car to me. if only it had the F6 motor :( here's a pic of my old man's 300C with 22" wire rims... in many ways the ford is a better car and it is faster but the noise from that Hemi at 6 grand is to die for and the std stereo absolutely kills the completely sh*te one in the Ford.

the lack of lsd is fine until u want to turn of the traction controll and really get it sideways around a corner or something as it seems to let u go a little n then the inside wheel spins like crazy n all of a sudden u r bouncing off the limiter. with TC on you can get a nice amount of tail out before TC takes over and gets you going in the right direction. its cool cause it lets you go enough so that it seems pretty hairy but u just keep into it and bob's your uncle you are going straight again. once the mods start though I think it will be a pain unless u only ever want to drive fast in a straight line.

thought I'd get a base power figure for sh*ts n giggles this morning as Elite Automotive is just around the corner from my work. she's stock apart from lowering and heavy ass 20's and there is only just over 300k's on the clock

ok thanks for the heads up, I'll have a look around a bit more. by the way all, I picked up the beast yesterday evening! she's looks stunning and goes great too. Unfortunately the heavy ass 20's have gotten rid of a lot of the excellent steering feel that is so great about the FG's. still miles ahead of a commonwhore though. and silly me let em put Nankangs on all round which sux cause the tyre noise is rather ridiculous. apart from that she's apples. I'll get some pics up when the sun comes out

2 month wait!!! my dealer had 7 in stock when I bought mine last tuesday, picking it up today. 2 other local dealers also had 5 or so in stock. im in QLD. got mine from Senior Hua at Bryan Byrt Ford Mt Gravatt.
