Interested to know what causes the large amount of exhaust crackle on these engines. I usually like it on other cars, every coyote ive heard including mine sounds so poppy and tinny on deceleration its just not a nice sound. One or two crackles is nice, but coyotes seem to do a couple a second. Mines just a cat back but ive heard cars with full systems the same. Also on my standard tune it does it alot less. Would be interested to know. Cheers

KPM, would you care to give a rough estimate of what sort of price your talking about here. I'm a coyote owner that isnt really interested in huge gains from cams purely just a little bit of sound and I would be prepared to pay a decent figure for it. I've noticed a video on youtube of the fg street fighter filmed at a service station and it seemed to have a nice idle. Feel free to PM me. Im just interested to know either way.

It is a cheap eBay connector I'll try a genuine cheers The connector works when charging the phone with the USB wall charger. Strange

Hi all, ive had my fg for a while with my old iphone 4 and never had an issue with car charging and music playing. However I just bought an iphone 5, I figured buying a 8 - 30 pin connector and putting it on the end of the factory iphone cable shouldn't be a drama. But I get no charge and no music. Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Does anyone know where the best place is to get some BBS Wheels? Im looking for a set of CX-R's 20 x 8.5 fronts and I have a choice of 20x9 or 20x10 rears. Im guessing a +35 offset for the 8.5 rims. Would that be that same for the rears?

It seems every owner wants cams (or ecu lumpy idle) me included. Maybe if everyone hits up their tuners about what can be done, we could drive abit of interest into the subject. And get someone of their bum to find a sollution. I get the impression that most tuners out there are only interested in fitting their intercoolers and fuel systems to boost the power up and they believe that people wont pay for the cammed idle if there isnt a big power increase. I for one would be happy to pay up to 5 grand for that sound as long as there is no power drop I dont even care about a power increase. In my eyes a blown v8 with 550+rwhp car should sound like its off its head! I'm considering an ecu change to something that can control both inlet and exhaust timing, I'm yet to talk to a tuner about it though

Thanks a lot really good information. 5 grand would be about my limit. Anything over that wouldn't really be worth it just for sound. So I guess buying the unit and 3 or 4 days labour would be around that mark. Is there any power to be gained playing around with vct

Thanks for the info. How much work is involved in changing the ecu over and retuning everything. Couple of days for a reputable tuner ?

As far as I've heard they cant adjust the exhaust timing, making aftermarket cams pretty much un tuneable and ghost cam tunes arent possible. Correct me if im wrong but I though that's why tuners such as herrod have failed in their efforts in cam development?

Has anyone gone down the path of an aftermarket ecu for vct control on the coyote yet? 550hp with no aggressive idle just doesnt do it for me anymore. Is there any options out there ECU wise that will be able to control cams or even just do a 'ghost cam tune' like the mustang guys are getting.

ive got the same problem in ba ba mk11 gt-p manual. its also had a flash tune but it was done years ago. started about 6 weeks ago I was driving all of a sudden the speedo and tacho dropped to zero, with the tacho coming back to life every now and again, TC abs and water light coming up on the dash and the radio turning off. brings up a 'security error code' on the icc. I stopped in a car park and it wouldnt restart, wouldnt even turn over. All the road side assist bloke came up with was a semi flat battery. so I changed the battery the next day and it happened again 2 days later. had it into an auto electrician all they could come up with was the abs module but they weren't sure. went away from there and it didnt happen again for nearly 6 weeks but then the speedo cut out yesterday driving home. I checked the battery when I got home it had 12volts and thought id check the earth. going from the battery negative to the frame of the car I had about 4ohms, I would have expected it to be almost a dead short? very frustrating

thanks for the replys. yeah I knew it would be less I just wasnt sure how much. my car is forsale privatly so that's the first plan. Only problem is that if I sell it I need to buy a new car almost straight away and I dont like rushing into buying things. might have to look at financing the new car are paying a big chunk of the loan off after I sell the ba.

Ill be interested to hear from anyone that has recently traded in their ba/bf turbo for an upgrade. ive currently got a 2004 ba turbo 100,000 kays stock apart from king springs and rims. im looking around at the moment for an upgrade either to an fg turbo or a BF FPV of somesort. So the cars im looking at will be around 32 grand mark. wondering if anyones traded in there ba for an fg (or anything of similar value) what sort of cash difference they have paid?? in my eyes my car is worth around the 18 grand mark so id like to pay around the 13 grand mark for an upgrade. but I assume a dealer will try for around 20. Any help appreciated, cheers.

yeah looks good guys, fat-51x yours looks awesome mate love those wheels in that colour. every one I see seems to have the stock 18s like in post number 6. utes seem to be 3 - 4k cheaper than sedans at the moment they are just so hard to look at with that failure of a rear wheel offset. would 20x10"s cure that or a spacers still required?

im looking at buying an fg soon and will probably have to keep the stock rims for a while so was wondering if any fg sedan owners who have lowered their car on the stock 18's could put up some pictures? keen to see how it would look. cheers

Has to be a manual, seems to be more and more stories coming out of busted zf autos so they aren't as strong as once thought, so much more fun to drive, my xr6t is an auto and I've regretted buying it nearly every day for only that reason, but I've never driven a new gt so maybe you should drive both and see which one you like, also I think the new gt will need a new exhaust anyway if your after a good note the ones I've heard don't sound that flash

crow or atomic valve springs are good, think I got my atomics from hiro performance (site sponsor) and yes if you plan to keep the factory airbox and piping the f6 snorkle is the way to go. sorry as for a part number for the snorlke im not sure, can try ford parts they will know what your talking about (probably a rip off though) I got mine second from the classifieds forum

ford always start off motors detuned/less powerful. I garentee the next model will say boss 350 or more on the bonnet. they will get stronger and faster over time. im sure a $500 custom tune alone will make it a hell of alot more agressive. its a factory car so it has to appeal to everyone, cant wait for the power kits to start coming out.
