Hey XYZ! Around what rpm do you reach full boost?
-
Thanks.. I contacted them and they are very expensive.. Does any one have a picture of the stock BA flywheel?

Hey guys, building a BA here in the states. Is there a flywheel/clutch kit from a US Ford that will work for the BA with a T56? Im trying to save from shipping over a clutch kit. Maybe you could help me with some pics/specs of a stock flywheel, tooth count, weight, diameter, imbalance? thanks

I got some pics of the first test fitting...! looks like it should fit just fine... I found out though that I will need the rear sump pan off of the new FG in order to clear the steering rack in the front. I should have that next week!.. Found this pic at xtremefordtuning... I hope they dont mind me using it...: Its sitting a little high in the pic because the front sump is hitting the sway bar and the rack.. Its also causing the motor to be pushed a little to far forward... This should be solved by the new sump... -Mewk

Its moving along... slowly.. I should be fitting the transmission as soon as I get a bellhousing.. then I have to rebuild the motor and do the wiring.. still got a good while to go.... ill post up some pics when I get the motor and trans mocked up..

Absolutely guys... I will keep you guys posted..

Yes, it will be rebuilt with forged internals... I was just a little easier to do it this way to get it fitted properly first...

Hey Guys!!! I just received my BA long engine!!! I am very excited! I am hoping that the I6 uses the same k member as the XR8 Barra. Can anyone verify this? If I am not mistaken, the XR8 uses a 5.4L Mod motor just like we have here in the states. If that is the case, I should be able to order a Modular Motor swap K member and use the I6 engine mounts to install the motor. Any one have any pictures of the motor mounts in the car or of a XR6 K member? Here are some camera phone pics...: Thanks, Leon

Hey Thanks Guys!!! I finally got in touch with a few wreckers in your country and I have a few prices. I should be making a purchase in the next week or so. The build will be started soon.!!! I will keep you guys posted............ Thanks again for all the help...

I am changing the pistons and rods so, I only need a good long block to work with. The motor will be tuned with either my old Tec3 R or maybe a Motec if I can afford it. I was a little unsure about the crank journal size and the way the cam timing was controlled. I think I read somewhere that some of the blocks had smaller crank journals and I think one of the heads has completely variable cam timing?

Ok, I sent another request to FTG for a NA motor. They responded with a quote for a turbo motor, but it was too expensive for me to just tear it down. So I hope ill hear something soon.... Thanks for all your help so far guys.. Hopefully ill have a motor here before the end of July. Mewk

I would love to get a short motor from Atomic but I can't seem to get them to respond to my email requests. Do they have a pdf price list available? I may give them a call toward the end of the week. It not, I have a great source for custom rods and pistons here in the states, so I was thinking of doing it that way. But for some reason I am having a hard time sourcing a complete engine to even start working on......

Yes! Sick Sick cars... I love 60's mustangs too, just too expensive to build them the right way.And now the 90's mustangs are starting to get scarce too... This motor is just incredible... Its like the rb26 or 2jz of the Ford world. Believe it or not, the motor seems as if it would almost be a bolt-up affire into a fox or sn-95. Just requiring the lower half of the mount to be fab'ed up. The tranny back would be off the shelf mustang stuff. But, of course im going to make full custom solid mounts for this beast. Any word on head differences, other than the valve springs and such?

Those are rearwheel figures... I would think that it would be easy as pie for a motor this large. I actually stumbled upon the barra while looking up info on the sohc 300ci I6 we have here in the states. Im interested because of the raw torque available from the inline configuration, and plus I dont really like the V motors that are available in the states. It all adds up, 1 - 2500 lb mustang + 800 ftlbs = one hell of a ride!!! I already spoke with someone at Ftg, but they are trying to sell me a complete turbo motor.. When really I need a n/a motor.... So, I am waiting on a response back to see if they can help me. If not, I see some floating around on evilbay for decent prices. So basically, could I go after any Barra engine? Are there any differences in the heads? Thanks for the help guys!

Just wanted to introduce myself and say HELLO!! to everyone. I plan on using this board quite a bit in the coming year as my project unfolds. I live in Florida, USA and I plan putting one of these fantastic motors into my 1993 Mustang coupe. It previously had a 2.3L Turbo motor putting out 540hp(402kw), but I think its time to step it up a bit. Here are some pics of the old shortblock being removed: http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn107/mewkalewk/ Right now I am in the process of finding a n/a motor that I can have shipped over to get the build started. I am shooting for 550 - 575kw. Do you guys know the differences in these motors? Which long block would be a better choice for a forged rebuild? -Leon
