  1. Haha. Nice one Dags. I was wondering how long it would take someone. When I laid the first coat of 'glass I had just watched the first 2 episodes of Star Wars. I thought it looked like the Imperial trooper helmets. Any who. Here's the boost gauge I'll be running. http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...16122008062.jpg Sure does.
  2. Jeez, you don't want much for nothing do you? Your best bet would be to go in to as many car audio shops as you can with the exact description you've just posted and see how you go. Good luck.
  3. They are a six inch something. They run a speaker in a mount arrangement. I gutted the original mounting frame and fitted 5 1/4" splits in the front and co-ax's in the rear.
  4. Try and get hold of DJKice on here or Kice on AFF. He has one fitted to his FG T and reckons it's good.
  5. Or you can take a pic of your dilema and upload it. Someone will be able to help you more if you do.
  6. If you don't like giving the government money then keep it registered. If you de-register it you'll be up for stamp duty and the lot again. I think? I work at a mine and my car sits for over 2 weeks at a time. It fires first hit every time when I get home.
  7. I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say 'stage 2 package'?? If your heading to the over 300rwkW, from what I've read around here, you probably need to consider the health of your transmission as well.
  8. I'm not taking a punt on 'should'. I'd like it confirmed before I order anything. Too much of a pain in the a$$ waiting for freight and the likes around here. Anyway, update time. Nearly finished the pod and head unit panel today until............. dang, cracked the pod and put a hole in the head unit panel in a couple of low spots. Oh well, nevermind, just got the fibreglass out again and give them both another couple of coats in the areas that needed it. I should be finished tomorrow and my local panel beater said he will paint them for me and try and get them matched up to the factory dash colour. Should look neat when they're both finished and fitted. http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...16122008058.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...16122008059.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...16122008060.jpg http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/ww30/PH...16122008061.jpg
  9. I have an oil temp gauge waiting to go in at some stage, but I've asked in another thread if the oil filter adaptor for the BA/BF is compatible with the FG and no one seems to know. Trial and error when your in the middle of no where.
  10. I'll post up a list of all materials and tools used and some costs involved when I'm finished. And some estimates of how long it would take to do yourself if anyone's keen.
  11. Yeah that's only 850 kays away to. Sucks all round. That's why I'm fitting an AFR gauge.
  12. Thanks mate. Yeah I figured as much. All I'm interested in is making sure it doesn't start to lean out in the top end with my generic tune. I hate being over 3000kms from a tuner.
  13. Here's a couple of pics of my head unit panel and one of the dash panel after the second coat of fibreglass resin.
  14. haha. smarta$$
  15. I'm halfway through constructing a dual gauge holder for the top of the FG dash. I'll post some pictures in the raw form tomorrow and hopefully by the weekend should be close to completion with it fitted to the car. I'll be fitting a boost gauge and an Air Fuel Ratio gauge for now. As I have now got a hold of a Flash Tuner with generic tunes, I want to keep an eye on the AFR until I can get near a tuner.
  16. I didn't know Ford made an FG Typhoon.
  17. oh. Thanks gramps. :banghead:
  18. T6060 gearbox, I think you mean. I think I read somewhere on this forum that they are a single plate. 290mm diameter.
  19. Why do you say that? Tocchi, keep us posted with the outcome and the reason they reckon it failed. Also, if they knock it back, keep the old parts, take heaps of pics and post them up. I'd be interested in seeing the aftermath.
  20. Straight from the battery, through a relay of course. You can use the original fuel pump relay as the trigger.
  21. There is a way around it. Buy an XR6 and when your old enough, or legal, buy a T.
  22. Yep, everytime your coasting or you back off the throttle, I'm pretty sure you'll go lower than stock boost. But if you mean when your on boost and it's not making factory boost pressure there could be some problem. Hang on. Pleae explain yourself better so we can have an idea what your talking about by 'is it possible that a 'BF xr6 turbo' can go lower then stock boost??'. I'm guessing here and you might not have any problems at all.
  23. First off, you better explain what you mean a bit better. When my car is sitting with the throttle closed it doesn't make any wooshing noise at all. What forum members gave you the advice not to use a pod filter and why? If the wooshing sound your referring to is on throttle close after you've been on boost, then the noise will be the BOV venting air back into the intake side of the turbo piping. It will be noticably louder due to the minimal dampening from using a pod. If you've gotten rid of your airbox altogether and are just running a pod on the end of a pipe then that will be the reason you hear it louder now. Physics????? All it is is recirculated air that was once boosted but is now being bled off to the low pressure side of the turbo.
  24. 22psi.Crikey! Must be making some grunt. Yeah, I'd be looking at adifferent BOV or a stronger spring.
  25. Confirmed.
