No, it's not the same as 99% of all manual transmissions. In the workshop manual there is a specific fill procedure where you don't even use the fill plug. You have to fill the box with a measured amount of oil through the reverse switch hole. The I6 is 4.85L and the v8 3.85L. Why this is so, is not something I cna answer, but it is in black and white on the workshop manual page number I quoted in the other thread. The funny thing is, in the manual there are heaps of photos of someone disassembling a transmission using a rattle gun. There is a special note from Ford saying they do not endorse the use of air tools for this task and the pictures are from the manufacturer of the transmission and used for illustration purposes.
