  1. Hey guys. I'm from Kununurra just across the border. Keen on putting my car down the strip sometime next year and coming up for a cruise. Anyone got dates that Hidden Valley does drag and track days?
  2. Rear diff bush arrangement.
  3. The calculations make perfect sense if you use 2.7bar fuel pressure. The Falcon turbo engine runs 4bar fuel pressure. Redo the calculations using 4bar fuel pressure and you will find there is more room for tuning without running lean. There will still be limits though.
  4. AFR's are measured at the tailpipe. You need to get a reading with the car under load, so doing a power run on the dyno will give you that figure. There are a few guys on here that have done the mod and may be along shortly to add their input. From memory though, there is some more noise at idle and through the rev range. PM LT5PLA, I think his username is. He's had it done to his car.
  5. There is no reason really. If that's how you want to do it, go for it.
  6. Doubt it. It's a straight through muffler to start with. You could dyno it before and after though and see if there is a small change. If you do, could you get a print out of AFR's after you've fitted the straight through pipe? I'm interested to see if it makes any difference.
  7. Tell him everything you've written in your first post. No-one on here will be able to tell you what it is without looking at it. If a mechanic is going to be servicing it he will look at it for you.

  9. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you spend to get to this figure?
  10. A fuel injector with water running through it would last 5 minutes I reckon. Not a good idea.
  11. Dud link mate.

  13. Correct me if I'm wrong here xrt, but I think he was referring to external water spray onto the surface of the intercooler and not injection, ETM. It's a good idea, in theory, if you have high ambient temps and a not too efficient intercooler. The only downside is you will use lots of water and you'll need to sort out spray head flow rates for maximum effect without just pouring water everywhere. Also, a large capacity tank is normally required as a washer bottle isn't very large in capacity and won't last long. Good luck if you decide to do it and post up some pics of the end result.
  14. Anyone got anything on the FG yet?
  15. Save some money and buy an XR8 lower airbox and snorkel. It'll perform just as well, if not better, and won't cost anywhere near as much.
  16. I don't know the exact hard cut rev limit for the BF, but it will be exactly the same in every gear.
  17. Yep.....GOOGLE it mate. Do some homework sport. You forgot to say which type of car by the way.
  18. Would be very interested if u supplied the dyno sheets you promised oh so long ago...........
  19. Yep. Plenty of pics of the build up of what I did. Can't be bothered looking for it though. Sorry, you'll have to do that bit yourself. Search under topics posted by me and it'll narrow it down.
  20. Been there. Done that. Not many people liked what I created but each to their own I guess. I've moved on from the first creation and I'm looking into an A pillar tripod arrangement as some have done with their B series cars. But no, no company has mass produced an off the shelf item to suit the FG yet.
  21. Please don't take offence to this but.......don't be a tightass. Go buy some new ones.
  22. If you had an aftermarket filter fitted with a higher micron rating than the standard unit and it failed due to something making its way past the aftermarket filter into the bearing assembly then yes, I would expect turbo and any other failure subsequent with the turbo failure to be denied warranty. If Ford supply something as standard that filters down to, for arguments sake, 70 microns and you go and fit a screen that only filters down to 100 microns, again for argument sake, why would you expect it to be covered under warranty? But. If you fit a screen of the same micron rating as is supplied standard.............. you may want to check with the dealer that works on your car as they are the ones who will say yay or nay.
  23. Ease of install is only a matter of a couple of spanners of the right size, a jack and some axle stands, a creeper if you wish, and some spare time. Some degreaser and rags come in handy as well, but it isn't hard to install at all. Just make sure when you do it that the car is cold. Makes life easier when working around the turbo area.
  24. Everyone will have their own opinion smXR6. If you're asking me, just replace the fitting that houses the screen when you service it. Depending on where you buy it, it's around $60. You can try and remove it if you like, but the chances of damaging it when trying to get it out are quite high. It's your money at the end of the day.
