You'll have a great day! I did mine in Sept 08 at Sandown. Unfortunately the weather was a bit crappy in the morning, but this helped spare the tyres for a couple of the earlier sessions. Depending on how you are grouped - we had 8 x F6's (2 R-specs), 5 x GT's, 3 x SP's and 1 x F6X - all cars were BF's. The day starts with a 45 min talk about defensive driving techniques and some advanced concepts and you will be introduced to the instructors (3 or 4). Then to the cars......... My group started with a discussion about seating/driving position followed by 8 or so Slalom passes around approx 6 w/hats all done in 2nd gear and as quick as you wanted to go. Next was a breaking and avoidance session which helped you understand more about ABS etc. Basically you needed to break and swerve around W/hats on que from an instructor. You do this about 8 - 10 times. Next was a bit of fun - in first gear at 25 k's, on que, hard left on the s/wheel, plant the foot and spin out. Purpose here is to feel the difference with TC on an off and to learn how to recover from an out of control spin. Great fun in the wet and we did this 8 - 10 times as well. Break for lunch!!!! Next - 2 warm up laps - then 8 laps of the track at what ever speed you are comfortable doing. The main straight was closed at the pit lane entrance and there were w/hats at the end and twice on the back straight to limit excessive speeds. Nevertheless, most in F6's got to 200k's at least once each lap. We finished the day with 3 timed runs through a gymkana course on gravel, which put the salom, braking and OOC to practice. Overall a great day, lots to learn about your car's capabilities (and yourself as well). Make sure you follow all the pre drive day checks, particularly tyre pressures. Be prepared though to lose plenty off your tyres. Mine got smashed (and the car had only done 3,000). A mate (ex race driver) reckon's I lost about 10 - 15k's off 'em and I didn't even hand over the wheel to an instructor either. Enjoy.....
