I picked up my new car yesterday. January 2010 turbo territory ghia, ex demo from metro ford, $55k, but cos I got it on a lease, I got it with no GST so it came in at a tad under $49k. Missed out on the 3K cash back cos I was gonna trade my car, then cancelled the trade, and lost out on the $3000 cash-back... it gets worse, but more on that later! The TT... Well... IT sh*tS ON MY BF!!! Handles better, awd is so great, has awesome punch off the line, stereo is sweet, all the bells and whistles make driving sooooo much more enjoyable than the povo pack that the xr had. And it hauls!!! Now about the bad stuff... The purchase was a little overshadowed by the ass raping I copped in selling my Toxic Bf1. Ended up letting it go for $17850, you guys know what it had done to it. Basically, I drove it down to brissy for the sale which was advertised on carsales as $18500, and on here as $18000 (with the purchaser to arrange pick-up, or I would deliver for cost of fuel) I was aware that there may be some negotiating, but I'd dropped the car from an overpriced $23k, to a worth while $21k, and for a quick sale moved it down to $18.5k firm so I could get this car NOW. Got there and the guy buying it had a panel beater with him, and went through the car, turns out there was a plug missing from the spare wheel well, an inch long crack in some of the sealant ford put over the join in the sheet metal in the boot. There was a small dent in the lhs sbove the rear wheel arch where a ball had hit it that I was going to get pulled out but with all the rain up here the panel beaters are pressed for time. And I could feel a 'wobble' in the rear on the free way, so I offered to pay for a balance and alignment (turns out that even my brand new territory has a wobble driving on the freeway, get it on a normal road and it's fine). Anyway, I get down there, offer the money for the balance/alignment, and expect a reasonable $18350. The guy said he only brought $18k cash, as that all I asked for on the ford forum (he's a non-frequent member here), then he offers $17500, I said nope and could feel myslef being bent over as I was now in the predicament of having a new car in a showroom upstairs, and this guy playing the fact I couldn't take the car and stick the deal in his...... anyhow... I said $18k, possibly $17.9k, but I'd have to speak to my wife, I rang a couple of mates that work in the mines up here who live in brissy but they were all on shift, so I couldn't pull out of the deal and park the car at theirs, I offered to budge to $17.9k and after telling me how he wanted to stick his nice 20 inch wheels on the car if he bought it, he said "$18k minus the $150 for the balance and alignment, $17850, take it of leave it"... I got f*cked!!! lol. I made the mistake of including in the sale, the personalised plates, the 16psi actuator and flapper I didn't have fitted. Even worse they tried to screw me saying the road worthy was only valid for 3 months OR 1000k's and I"D NEED TO PAY FOR A NEW ONE!!! now for those who are anaware, MY WIFE WORKS FOR QLD TRANSPORT, I CALLED HER AND IT'S 2000K'S OR 2 MONTHS, THIS WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM, SO I HAD TO CALL THE MOB THAT DID THE ROAD WORTHY AND GET THEM TO VARIFY THAT MY WIFE, WHO I CALLED AT WORK, AT QLD TRANSPORT, WAS NOT LYING, COS $67 IS WORTH HER CAREER!!! Anyhow, I'm a big believer of karma, what goes around comes around, sorry but it does, lol. I have a nice new car, with warranty, a fuel card, and new for old replacement. He's got a car I pumped countless amounts of money into, a 15000km old fg f6 short motor in it, a 5000km old process west stage 3 kit with race air box, tranny certified and serviced 5000km ago, new dba brake rotors and pads 2000km ago, and countless hours on the dyno... all in the 30000km's I've had the car... but I still wouldn't trade my turbo terry for it, no way!!! END RANT... pheeeeewwwwww.
  2. If I had my time again, I'd have bought a set of spool rods or atomic rods and chucked them in my fg short motor, along with a new oil pump. There are sooo many options.
  3. she was standing behind me when I opened your post...
  4. Hey guys, as you've probably read I'm getting a turbo territory, and am wondering... If it get one and put a set of 20's on it with a slightly lower profile than recommended. Probably a 245/40/20 (I think from memory) on it, can I get my speedo re-calibrated on an all wheel dyno, and if so, will it require a flash tuner, and a tune, thus voiding my warranty? I would love to slug a set of 22's on it, but think towing on 22's is gonna destroy the rear tyres. Cheers.

Nah, just wanna sell it now, I pick up my new car next thursday or friday.
  6. I had it on Carsales/point for almost 6 weeks and have had 2 enquiries, all at the price of $18500. Got no intrest at $23500, $21500, $20000... so I thought fark it. Technically it's not a trade, I'm getting my Turbo Territory for $50,191.84 (have the lease agreement here in front of me). and the ford dealership sourced a wholesale place that would pay $16k for it. I've thrown it out there on face book to all my mates, if anyone wants it for $18k they can have it. It's $2k more than the wholesale price, and I'd need to get a road worthy for it, and it still doesn't have the actuator and flapper fitted up yet, so I figure I'll take what I can. As for spending sh*tloads on it, yeah, but I don't drink much, lol. I bought a new (second hand) wake boat, and it's 2 tonne of boat, so I realy need something that can pull it out of the water uphill, and a rwd 350+rwkw car would do it, but I think it's destroy the rear tyres in a flash, lol. that's me in the back with the red shirt on, my old man (apart from me) is the only one in the boat with a licence, so he is skipper normally. that's it with no ballast, we usually just chuck another 500-1000 litres in it so it pumps! Anyway, this is the reason I got a territory, that and for holidaying with the missis and kiddies.

Mines up for $18000 if ya want it, going cheap!
  8. As for towing I'll let you know next week, I'll be towing my 200kg wake boat out to our local for the first time, should be a better trip than in the past behind the v6 crewman, lol
  9. Well after a couple of years of awesome times, and a few not so good times (BLOWING UP A MOTOR) I have finally signed the papers for my new car, and agreed to a trade in price for the Toxic Xr6t I've loved and hated a few times, lol. The missus and I were adamant on getting a 2009/10 Turbo Territory Ghia, but couldn't find one for less than 55K, so we started investigating the less powerful version (n/a ghia). After talking the talk, and swinging some bargaining, we managed to get a 2010 n/a Ghia down to $48K, but it needed a 2300kg tow pack for the wakeboat, and had no tinting. Not long b4 we were due in to sign the papers MetroFord in brissy contacted me and made me an offer for the BF1 XR6T of $16000, and said that they would drop the price of the Territory Turbo Ghia they had in their showroom to $55k, pending I paid a deposit there and then on the phone. The trouble I went through trying to locate a new TT for the right price was unbelievable, but they guys down there were realy good, and have done more than their fair share to help me into this car. So, I guess the long and the short of it is next Thursday, pending everything goes through smoothly, I'll be picking up my new 2010 Black turbo Territory Ghia, with all the bells and whistles... Next step, a nice set of 20's (22's would cop a hinding towing 2tonne od boat) and a bit of a tune

It might be easier if you buy my car bonjaz, lol... $20k guys. I can't believe it, it's been on carpoint.com.au and carsales.com.au for almost a month now, and not one enquiry. Do you guys think $20K is too much money to be asking?
  11. Joe, I have a queen size mattress, and despite the fact my missus would NEVER go for it, I'll take one for my room, lol. Awesome job, I bet your kids love em!!!
  12. typical magazine write-up... Blah Blah Blah 'it was close but hsv wins' blah blah blah... FPV were given go-ahead to make a super car, but not a GTHO, I wanna see a supercar, it's been too long between drinks.

sorry to hijack your thread kent, but my car is for sale in emerald, if you know anyone who might be interested up mackay way could you let them know? Cheers mate. This is the absolute top dollar I'm asking for it, I can move on it for a quick sale... Here's the LINK
  15. It'll be a lease car (I know it's not the best attitude), but I need something that can pull the boat, for less than $60k. Today we towed it out with a new turbo diesel patrol, and it was slow as sh*t too, lol. At least the territory has some torque, lol.
  16. I'd love to wait till the new model comes out and grabe a 2009/2010 TTGhia cos I'll save thousands, but we kinda need it NOW, lol. I've got a mate looking at a F6X on monday for me in Mackay (4 hours away) so we'll see how that goes. I towed our new wake boat from Toowoomba to Emerald today behind a Expensive Daewoo Crewman, we were using 24.9L/100km. sh*tHOUSE for an 850km trip. I've put the XR on the market, asking top dollar, but I'm willing to move a fair bit on it.
  17. I'm chasing a Late model Turbo Territory Ghia, or F6X with reasonable K's... If anyone has one, or knows of one, PM me Cheers guys.
  18. Jeez it's running rough...

    Well done, who's your tuner?
  20. but kent... you're already running a 9...
  21. on our muck up day we took it too far... I went to an all boys school, so we dressed up a lad like a local girl from the all girls school, wig, uniform, the works, and staged a kidnapping, only the guy who was supposed to call the school prior and let them know ahead of time, thought it'd be and EVEN BETTER PRANK to NOT call and jam US on our muck up day, kind of a double cross... Hrmm.. Needless to say the cops and parents, and teachers, and local govt, and anyone else in town was not impressed with the overall taste of the 'prank'. Almost cost me my senior certificate. That was back in the late 90's, I'd HATE to see what'd happen if it was done again

Seem like the time for touch ups. I put my new 19's on the car the other day, after having the front end and rear end re-sprayed, and the rear bumper replaced. Also fitted up my BDA 4000's all round with new pads. Alls that left is still the actuator, turbo mod and power steering hose. Soon, soon.
  25. that's gold!!!! obviously you're a pretty cool teacher if they knew thay could play the game knowing full well their limits. That's one for the school yearbook!
