  1. Any chance you can take some pics of the car with all the fitted gear and shoot them through to me in an e-mail? mattybaldwin@bigpond.com I really wanna go down this path, but after destroying my last car I'm a little concerned, lol. have you run it up on a dyno? any idea of power output?
  2. third update, lol. Mal, I had some professional help from a mate who does custom instals for a living, I was going to do it on my own, but after an hour and only 1 speaker installed, he cam over and in 2 hours the job was completed, lol. Today I adjusted the signal, so it was more orientated to the rear a bit mor than the front, probably 40/60 and have had to drop the bass off a bit as well as the bass just sounds wrong. It sounds a more balanced. Please, if anyone who knows anything about sound and audio reads this can you please comment... I have the components in the front, and the splits in the rear doors. The sound from both front seats (and my wife agrees) seems as though it's only coming from the front speakers, the rears are almost non existant when sitting up front. When sittin at the back, it sounds alright. Can I add components to the rear doors and and face the tweeters towards the front to give the sound more 'depth'? Cheers guys.
  3. Approximate of costs involved including tuning? I've got a 2010 ttg with a debunged exhaust, 2nd cai and a hi flow filter and it brought the economy down a bit but nowhere near that much.
  4. Okay, so we got the rear speakers fittd and wired. We added a 16mm spacer to each side of the fronts and fitted them no probs, although the tweeters wouldn't fit so we're doing up a custom surround for them in the factory position so that shoulod be good, and we found out that the factory sub is a 6x9 size, so I'm having a custom sealed box made up for the sub, and I'm gonna sell off the small kenwood amp and buy a 5 channel one that will power all the speakers, and the amp quite sufficiently. The sound is a bit better but it's lacking still having the standard tweeters and sub in there amongst the new stuff. Time will tell if it all works well, I just need to scrape together a few more hundred to get the job done.
  5. Well, today all of my goodies arrived, I was finding the premuim sound option on the turbo territory ghia just didn't cut the mustard so I bought the following. Soundstream 6.5 inch splits for the rear doors. 60w rms. Soundstream 6.5 inch components for the front. 75w rms. Kicker 8" slim comp Sub. 200w rms Kenwood 175w rms amp to run the sub. Fusion High/Low Line converter to get the signal for the Amp. Normally I reserve myslef to the 'more power modding' of the engine kind, but this is my fist ever stereo upgrade and I'm a little in the dark. If anyone has any tips before I go fitting this stuff tomorrow It would be greatly appreciated. I'm assured by mates that it's pretty simple, and the hardest part is removing the door cards, lol. But I'd like to cover all bases. I've even got a spare car to use incase I need to run down to supercheap and get some spacers, although the 6.5 inch speakers don't seem as 'deep' as I expected. Cheers guys, I'll add photos and videos tomorrow... Pending everything goes to plan, lol.

If it's not raining tomorrow I'll give it a tub and chuck up a couple of pics. Purchased a 2 channel Kenwood amp last night that can be bridged to power the Kicker sub, so things should be going dooff next weekend if it all arrives and goes to plan. Fingers crossed.
  7. by different I mean colour of the wires, etc. I'm not a very electrical minded person, but I'm hoping to learn, as my warranty depends on it, lol.
  8. I actually have a 2010 Turbo Terry Ghia, and the amp is under the front seat. I'll take a photo tomorrow but my loom looks somewhat different to yours. I purchased a Fusion Line level converter from ebay, and while I was there found V12 amps for $79 delivered from a seller here in oz. So I'm contemplating getting 2 and down the track having them professionally fitted, one amp to run the speakers, and one for the sub. But I grabbed the Line level converter in case I decide to just go with a small monoblock to fit under the front seat, soley for the sub. Have you unplugged the loom from your factory amp now, and removed the factory amp totally leaving behind the line level converter connected to the unplugged loom and your new amp?
  9. Fantastic, thankyou very much. Any idea what the other wires are for? This will help me add an amp for my new sub, correct? I was thinking of getting a 5 channel amp (4 for the speakers, and one mono chanel for the sub) Any idee which wires to add a line level converter to so I can run my speakes of the amp too?
  10. any chance you can shoot me an e-mail or message as to how you did this, I'm about to do the same thing, cheers.

well. Debunged the exhaust, fitted the CAI, added a chrome turbo badge to the bottom of both rear door, fitted a Genuine HKS SSQV BOV, added a set of 20" Giovanna Dalar 5V Chrome wheels (one of 2 sets in oz) with 275/45/20 lexani tyres. Also... I've fitted a 5v direct ipod connection to the car and so the ipod plays through the sound system, and is volume controlled by the steering wheel, it also charges the ipod (the cable has the ipod connector, not just the headphone jack like what ford sell, lol). Hopefully arriving tomorrow or monday I have the following... all bought on ebay for the whopping total of less than $500 delivered, lol. I added the retail prices up and it's all worth just under $1000. SoundStream 6.5" Component Speakers (2x 6.5" for the doors and 2x Tweeters) that are 80w RMS or 160w Peak SoundStream 6.5" 2 way speakers for the rear doors that are 70w RMS or 145w peak Kicker 8" compact subwoofer 200w RMS or 500w peak- The compact will be a direct fit for the limited space in the stock position ford fit them. Philips H4 Crystal vision globes for the Lo/Hi Philips H7 100w Crystal vision globes for the hi beam Philips H3 100w Crystal vision globes for the fog lights (which I'll now use as secondary hi beams) Fusion High to Low Line Converter for Factory Stereo to Amp - so I can add an amp down the track to get the best out of the speakers and sub I've ordered. Also... I bought a Xenon HID kit that I've decided against fitting, as the car is still under warranty, if anyone wants it, I'll sell it for $100 delivered, it's got the slim ballast and is of digital spec. ... so yeah, I've been shopping, lol.

took 4 weeks or so for my rapid intake to arrive, and I only got it cos a lady came and gave it to me... sent to the wrong address.
  13. I'm interested too! can u make it to fit the territory?
  14. I've got a set of the Turbo Territory ghia 18's for sale at the moment. Pm me if you are interested.
  15. but when you look at dave car running a 9.3 driven to and from te track, the differences are worlds apart.
  16. I agree... It's a drag car, not a street car... most of the stuff on here for records is street driven.
  17. I hope you are right... sold my bf xr6t and now have a 2010 turbo territory ghia. I'm thinking a plazmaman stage 1+ kit (new cooler, and all piping replaced... injectors, and fuel pump and tune. Hope total reliability isn't diminished.

u should make 1200hp with a manual, yeah?
  20. Seriously, read the thread... from start to finish... then come back, and read your reply. I'm guessing that your BF had an aftermarket cooler too? Jet' chuck a cooler in it and jam these thread hero's, lol. (I can't wait till fluffy reads your comment, laughing already)
  21. I think this thread just blew any of Icers out of the water, lol. I will love to see what fluffy has to say when you chuck a big plazmaman/process west/rapid cooler in there and hand it to the nizpro's, Keep up the good work, BFYB is where it's at for 90% or us car nuts. lol. (adding this thread to my watch list...NOW)
  22. My missus was concerned about the xr6 with 330, but she got used to it pretty quickly. The funniest part was when we parted with it we test drove a Non-T Territory Ghia, and I was amazed by how much power the old car had that I DIDN'T use. Anyhow I was ready to buy a Standard Territory Ghia, as I realy wasn'r concerned buy the lack of power as I only used it occasionally... Then the boss hopped in... as she rounded a corner to merge onto the highway just out of town she pushed the go-pedal and as we neared 100kph she said "nope, this things sh*t, we'll have to get a Turbo Ghia, it's got not power". So we have TTG, lol.
