  1. Ranga... wrong. Budgie smugglers not cool at all!
  2. f*ck man, sorry to hear about this... good luck finding someone
  3. Sooooo, it's all done. Now I have to pull the rear wheels off again, the calipers off again, and the rotors off again... I didn't line up the hand brake adjuster!!! F-A-R-K-I-N-H-E-L-L-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But on a side note the car looks tough as with the new 19's on it and a set of slotted DBA4000's all round Oh, and Jeturbo, I didn't need bubblewrap, lol. just BRUTE STRENGTH, (and a pry bar).
  4. Oh, by the way, it's a BF1 running standard size BF1 brake package (I think it's called PBR2, I think)
  5. Cheers, so there is nothing to worry about with the hand brake? I only realised today out of default I don't actually know how the hand brake connects to the rear rotor... no time like the present to learn, lol.
  6. Hey guys, I've replaced my front rotors with DBA4000's today, and just gave the old ones a little love tap with a soft faced hammer to remove them, now I'm onto the rear, and I have removed the caliper, but can't get them to budge... Here's the thing, I mis-hit and hit the edge of the rotor with the metal handle and have dinted the rotor, so there is not going back now Do I have to undo anything to do with the hand brake? or are they just being stubborn, and I need to be more forceful??? Any held ASAP would be GREAT, as the car is on a stand and I kinda need it tomorrow to get some new tyres fitted, lol. Cheers in advance.
  7. I think a better name for the removable taxi bar would be the 'tooth chipper bar'... A-La 'The Simpsons'.
  8. Cheers Spiko, that would be great. Speaking of carbon, any thoughts of swapping out panels on the beast for carbon ones? Black cars with carbon panels look Tuff, not that you cars doesn't look tuff already, lol.
  9. Spiro, I would naturally make the assumption that you have put long hours of investigation into sourcing your carbon rims, I'm just wondering if these are to be a permanent fixture on the car or something that is only fitted every now and then? I put almost 6 months into sourcing some carbon wheels for my cbr929rr race bike back in 2004 and again persued the idea in 2009 for my new Fireblade but couldn't find any that come with a decent warranty, nor the longevity of testing I thought sufficient. My reasons for asking were in my previous line of work I was a Non-Destrictive Testing tech. Basically I did industrial radiography and ultrasonic inspections. We did a lot of work with a carbon fibre company working out of Italy building carbon hulls and boat parts, who wanted our company to investigate the failures of some of their development motorsport wheels. We found that the carbon was becoming britle and basically exploding after being driven on for periods over timeframes as little as 25,000k's and 14 months. Our advice included but wasnt limited to kevlar inclusions to a minimum 65%, plus magnesium/alumina inclusions, and having wheels returned to the manufacturer every 2500km for full inspections and shock loading. pm me if you want as I'd be intrested in what you've discovered as this info is from almost 2 years ago, and I'd be interested in looking at buying myself some new wheels for the Blade. Cheers.

On that, I need the hoses so I can connect the oil cooler up, that comes from factory. Anyone know if anyone does these, or do I need to buy factory?

The story I used was as follows. Rang a wreckers, got a Vin of a Wrecked FG F6, also got the year, colour, and tranny... Went to ford, with above details, and proceeded to tell them I bought the above mentioned wreck and was building it as a track car, possibly a drag car in the future. Told them that the motor was NOT in the vehicle when I bought it, and a LOT of parts were sold from when it was at the wreckers. They were none the wiser. It's a lot of f*cking around, but it gets you an FG F6 Shorty, for less than most Rebuild kits are.
  12. Where did you get the carbon wrap? Cost, ease of use??? My silver has started to bubble, so I'm going with the carbon wrap too, but I loke the'mat' finish, like what you have used. Cheers.

Then if it doesn't sell by March next year, I'll have bought the misus her new Turbo Territory, sold the old tixic XR6T, and will be looking to get myself a ute, (preferably one with 1000hp, and a full compliment of mods to match. Pity I can't put a deposit on her till then). lol

FMD!!! Mr Baldwin, you have only been in your current job for 4 and a bit months, we require you to be employed for a minimum 6 months before we would be okay with giving you $35000... Don't want to swap it for a 9 second Fireblade, and a couple of kids LOL.

Rednuts your a god!!!! Bonjaz..... As my old man and rednuts have said, Don't let fear stop ya!!! I finally got my spare exhaust housing, 14psi actuator, and bigger flapper valve... I'll be porting the f*ck out of it this week, and next few weeks/months should see up is a set of valve springs and a surge tank then a tune from dave!. God it seems like its taking an eternity getting from 360 to 400+... Damn it!!! 400+ will be on a race fuel cocktail, but shouls be great for dyno comps. TOX16 goes in next week to the panel beaters, some ass wipe ran up the ass of her months ago and it's taken this long to get it fixed.
  20. I have black 18's on mine but they are a 14 spoke, the longer they are on my car the more I hate them...
  21. got a mate with one on his wrx sti, he's running 280awkw, and it works a treat when he wants to make the car sound like a stocker. when it's open, fark it's loud, he's not running a cat or any other mufflers on a straight thru 3.5 inch system.
  22. Engine mounts are only 6 months old, and the diff bush is a superpro one. I was hoping it was the spare in the boot, but it's tight as a nuns... well yeah.
  23. So I just got my ZF serviced, and had a steel pan and replacement filter fitted, the technician working on the tranny said everything was sweet, and he couldn't believe that the car had been running with 360rwkw and the tranny was still in such good condition, so that was a positive. Then I went to get my new centre diff bush fitted, dropped it off at lunch and picked it up at 5pm. One bush in the front rhs needs replacing soon, and my brakes are shot (contacting Hiro this week for some newies), but otherwise they said that for a car that's done 90,000ks the car could pass for having done 30, said that even the shocks were in gread condition and still firm... WOOHOO! I drove the car for maybe 50kms and the 'dunk' noise is back... I've checked the spare tyre, gone over the WHOLE car twice, and am now thinking maybe I should take it to pedders in rockhampton (3 hours from here, and the closest suspension shop) and have the $29 inspection. Anyone got any ideas.?

    Tax Man Hate...

I lodged the day I bought my group cert home and I had a 60day wait. Mine was 'randomly' selected to be manually processed, then there was an 'error', and I finally got mine the 3rd of sept. But it was a LOT bigger than expected, so all is well.
