  8. I'm 20 and have got my xr6t full comp insured w/ aami. Commonwealth Bank quoted me 6.5G's a year!! way too much. I then called aami and because I've been insured with them already plus my parents have been I got put on a rating 2. On top of that the 18 y/o girl on the other line was impressed with my car choice. I ended up with 1300 a year. (bit of a difference from 6500!!)

  11. I have the swoosh at low speeds as well... My mechanic says PBR have released an after market kit to fix this? Is this the same one as Ford uses or something different?? If its different I'll find out how much it is and let you all know.
  12. I set up my own aux input for no cost and there is no whine. (volume is about 1 or 2 less than CD) All you need: 3mm plug to rca cable (I had 1 spare at home) 5 Male Spade terminals (may need to be cut with side cutters if they're too big) about 2 inch's of speaker wire. Then what you do: Strip the rca ends of the cable (being careful not to cut the shield wire around the inner wire) Crimp a spade terminal on to each channel. (Left and Right) Then twist the two shield wires together and crimp a terminal on that aswell. (Shield) Then on each end of the speaker wire crimp a terminal. (Sense & Ground) From there you simply plug the terminals into the aux plug (behind the fuse box) I have attached a poorly drawn diagram of what the plug's layout is. Because both left and right are sheilded individually the sound is fine. If you need any help on this PM me and ill get back to you as soon as I can

We'll have to wait and see. I'll be sure to post when I have ran the gear box and tested it out. It still wont have any other mods so we'll have to wait a while before we know for sure!! I am confident it will at least last me a year because I won't be going completly crazy on the engine for at least that long!!

I only just bought the car so it is standard. This is the first thing I'm doing. I figgure its better to do the mod now and not worry about having any gearbox problems later. I have a friend who had exactly the same thing done to his s13 silvia. It pushes neally 300rwkw and he absolutely thrashes it. Hasn't had a problem at all in the year since he had it done. I am told the the t5 ratios are better because you can hold 3rd a bit longer.

I don't know if this is off topic but... I just baught a Ba XR6T with the 5 Spd Manual. I Have just booked it it to get the whole gear box forged + a button clutch (all for 3G's). I am told that nothing I do to the gear box will break it!! Has anyone ever done or heard of doing this???
