  1. hey everyone, I drive a BA XR6T 03mdl, I just noticed today that when I start the car the air bag light on the dash flashes on and off for a few seconds and then stays on for the rest of the drive. Its probably not a big deal but what would be making the light come on???????
  2. ok that's around what I thought it would cost but you guys are right you could get way bigger gains from other things in this price range. I guess once you have done the turbo, fuel system etc etc then would be a good time to do things like cam and diff gears so you get the rite cam grind and the right ratio's etc. cheers for the input fellas
  3. cheers for the heads up, I guess you get what u pay for so nizpro sounds like the go, if simon has played with these cars alot then its for the best to use him. Oh yeah there will be another BEAST of a T gettinfg around melbourne verry soon, Ill keep you guy's posted
  4. that's not a bad idea at all mate. eitherway im happy as with the product, to each there own I guess.
  5. ok cheers for that mate.
  6. yeah for sure, it was just a matter of findind a tuner that knows the cars well and can help me achive the power figure im after
  7. Ok cheers for that mate if you could pm me a price on the difilipo 3.5" that would be great, thanks again guys.
  8. Cheers for that mate, the advice is much appreciated. is 409 grade stainless steel better or 304 grade? It sounds like the go would be to use the diffilipo dump and cat back and use a different cat. pic's would be fantastic aswell mate.
  9. Ok I see I just had a look at those threads and I see that there are mixed opinions about the growler kit, some say "waste of money" and some say they are worth the money, but it would seem no one is denieing that they actualy work. Since I already bought and fitted the thing and I can already feel power gains from it Im still happy. Cheers for the thoughts but Istill think there a good product if you have the spare $$$ sitting around.
  10. Ok sweet, I did do a search but I came up with no matches, Im only new to the forum and also I have only just got my first XR6T so Im just trying to learn as much as I can before I lay all the cas out on mods.
  11. ok cheers for that mate are they still in bayswater, if so ill pop in there on tuesday and see simon, hopefully he can make some sort of plan up with me to build this car up the way I want it.
  12. what $60 intake are you guys talking about because If its that good I would use it for sure, is it just a poddy or a K&N pannel or what because I dont see what else you would get for $60
  13. that's insane, Im all ears then, do you know of any tuners in melbourne that you would recomend because I would be wraped if I could stay with the stock ecu and get my 400 odd rwkw, cheers for the advice man you have probably saved me some cash and hassle
  14. Why do you say the cam isnt worth doing? im not asking that in a rude way either im just interested because I would have thought there would be great gains in doing the cam. haha yeah sorry bout the title aswell
  15. In a way I even agree with you I have built alot of VL turbo's and allways just had the poddy hanging of the 35/40 on them but you just get defected, when I bought this car I decided I would do as much as I could to keep the car from being an EPA magnet, I just CBF with defects etc anymore and I think this product gives you the power gain and looks pretty much stock to the cops. that's how I ended up deciding it was worth the money.
  16. I am just wondering what it costs roughly to get a good work shop to put a tuff cam and valve springs into an XR6T, I am doing exaust, CAI, custom cooler and a tune so I thought I may as well get the cam and springs done at the same time but im not confident fitting them myself. where in melbourne dose them and roughly whats the cost to suplie and fit.
  17. when I spoke to anthony he asked me how far I want to go power wise with this car and I told him I want to go 400rwkw+++, he said that he was going to research what software was availible for the factory ECU and what the go is with the map censor etc, He said he would think that if im going to go that far, then I would be best to go an aftermarket ecu with a 3 bar map censor and all the other goodies, as I said though this is the first XR6T Iv ever owned so I sialing through uncharted teritory at the moment. Anthony also said that he hadn't done many XR's lately so he would investigate how far I can go with the stock ecu.
  18. The results I get on my next tune wont realy show the true gain from the CAI because I am fitting the exhaust, custom cooler and aftermarket ECU including injectors etc, so the tune will be for all that. but I might even aske them to do a power run just to see what exactly it did for me.
  19. TUFFFFFFFF, the bonnet is a must, I recon it makes the car look way better.
  20. THE BRAKES, THE BAY, THE BONNET, THE POWER AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE COULOR. If my car ends up near this standard one day I would be one proud owner!!!!!!!!!!! TOP EFFORT
  21. That looks tuff as mate, I love the whole engine bay, its attention to detail like that that makes all the difference. TOP EFFORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I know alot of people do these flash tune things but I have used aftermarket ecu's on most of the other cars Iv ever built, admitedly this is the first XR6T Iv ever built but I want to go with a motec or a wolf 3D or something of that caliber. Which is the best work shop to supply and fit/tune I was thinking of Anthony Rodrigous from MAZTEC of melbourne because he is such a highly regarded tuner but if you guys have had them fitted and tuned on your XR6T's elseware could you tell me where and who to talk to. Any help would be appreciated
  23. I was told by a few performance shops that difilipo make better products than xforce, now I dont know if this is the case but can any of you guys give me any input on the difilipo system, has anyone used it before? Should I just get a work shop to make me up a fully custom stainless system rather than get a bolt on kit, any input would be great. here is what the difilipo web sight says the bolt on kit consists of: 3" Rear Muffler in mild steel or stainless steel 3" Front Muffler assy in mild steel or stainless steel 3" Hi-flow stainless steel Cat 3" Turbo Eng' Pipe with 1 3/4" waste gate pipe
  24. I just fitted the SS inductions cold air intake today, it is the growler one that replaces the whole airbox and has the pod filter inside it they say u can expect up to 16rwkw from this kit on an XR6T and I recon with a tune that would probably be the case. The car rev's way faster and has heaps more down low allready and it sounds tuff as!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! top product. here's the write up from there web site and the pics off there site, Ill get some pics up of my engine bay soon. Growler® Cold Air Induction The GROWLER® system replaces the factory airbox altogether and is designed to maximize air flow and to provide a shorter path to the throttle body. This delivers a much faster and smoother flow than the standard air box and makes use of our superior Big Mouth® inverted cone high performance filter. The factory induction can also be connected to the Growler®. A unique SS Inductions' aluminium air scoop is included as part of the kit to increase the ramming effect at highway speed through the opening of the factory induction. A special cap is provided for use when the factory induction is not required. With a great induction growl, expect to gain up to 16kw at the rear wheels (turbo models), significantly increased torque and throttle response and better fuel economy. The five-part kit consists of plastic pod-style airbox with lid, the Big Mouth® pod filter, standard induction cap and the unique SS Inductions' aluminium air scoop. RRP $599.00. Part # CAI024
