These were taken while I was giving the beasty a bath at the detailers. The 2 front shots were after cleaning and adding of number plate protectors, a little bright I admit, but I'm heading for a professional shoot later in the week for some night time and sunset shots

I believe it's up to the descretion of the Police person who see's you take off at a rapid rate of knots. Generally you can get charged for dangerous or reckless driving for planting the foot, especially in urban areas, but they have to see you do it

I found the site the other day and put in my VIN number. I only got 2 photo's though, does any one know how many there are supposed to be? Or am I one of the only unlucky ones who only had the cameras rolling for a few seconds?

My beastie will have this setup, 700 including fitting. The microwave sensor was the most expensive part at about 230. Apparently the ford remotes wont work with this one, but you get 2 sets supplied with the kit anyway. All up though only 100 dollars dearer than the ford factory alarm.

OH MY GOD! is about all I can say. Picked up the car yesterday arvo. Bought it with 21 Kms on the clock, nearly 1200 already, I love this Car! Photo's are to follow as soon as I can get my card reader to work. I guess I'm now an official member of team HgAg

Hmmmm I've had 2 major encounters in my time. One was when I was not quite 18. Heading down Bourke street, in my old 3 cyl 786cc Suziki hatch back (it had balls let me tell you was an excelent first car). Got to a set of lights and when I went to take off the patrol officer hit me with his lights. My natural reaction was to switch off the lights, keys out, jump out of the car and lock it. Met the guy at his door. "Areyou in a hurry sir?" "No not that I know of, just picking up my little brother from his mates place" "Did you know you were doing 72?" I was genuinely dumfounded as the digital speedo only said 62 down the street. Long and the short of it I bought some new tyres, all they had in stock were higher profile than the ones I origionally had. The dude at the store told me it'd only be a k or two out. I eventually found at 110 I was actually doing 125. The officer was very polite and told me to get to the speedo service place here in town or he'd book me. I got off Second incident, I lost my license for drink driving. .080 on the scale on the bag and at the station. Worst part was I wasnt driving. Me and a few friends of mine jumped in the car. The driver (who was sober) stalled it right in front of the patrol car with the heavy clutch on my car. Not a problem when they pulled us over I thought, till my mate got booked for not having 'L' Plates on the car. They then bagged me because I was in the front passenger seat :( Fortunately the Judge was very leaniant and I got a 3 months voluntary no driving whilst the court kept my licence, and no charge. Hardest 3 months, full time work, full time uni and all the other stuff I do from week to week. Oh well, no one drives my car anymore and if we're on our way home with someone and I'm the shotgun, I always check the drivers licence for myself, no moatter how much they insist they are licensed.

For me just the front Grill, Footwell Lamps, Non-standard alarm and the centre exhaust will be all for now. Would like to get that air pod at some stage but cash is a big issue at the moment. Maybe next year after my holiday to Japan. :D

Heheheheheee.... I'm currently giggling like a little school girl at last. The dealer rang and I can pick up my car tomorrow.... for REAL this time  Heading down with the digi cam so pics will ensue for all to see. I take off from here tomorrow for the hour drive to Culcairn, then a quick buzz by Albury and back to Wagga. Will post the photos as soon as I get back. Although without my beloved 'zadank' plates, should have those on her by Friday. Oh so much excitement I'm about to burst! weeeeeeee

I might also try and convince him to get a pic of his and my car together, if mine ever shows up

Build a bridge. I thought we all got over this ages ago. I would love to see some good quality photo's of an XRT highway patrol car, but what I would really love, is to know if they really are just stock standard XRT's?? Appart from all the pretty lights etc, is there any difference in performance? Do the have a different air intake or ECU settings? And do they run 17's or 18's?? Are they manual or SSS? Do they get tinted windows (curious about that one)?? This one had SSS. Any one comment if this is to do with holding the radio mic and driving the car at the same time? I've heard from a motormouth  it's something to do with OH&S.? Sounds like BS to me but can any one back that up?

You guys were right, he did say that the car was stuck at FPV ataiting a shipment of parts. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me what the parts were though. I spoke to the dealer today, according to his system (as of this morning) the status is into the 'shipping stage' so he rekons that it's this afternoon or tomorrow morning it shows up. YAY then I should be able to pick it up on Tuesday sometime. Heres hoping *crosses fingers again* Also spoke to him about the alarm system I'd ordered with it. He said that 'if the doors are tampered with it will go off, but if someone does a smash and grab through the window, it wont.' So I cancled the ford alarm system and am sorcing one locally instead. This one is quoted as 100 big ones more, but has a shock sensor, so if any one hits the car whilst armed it triggers, and also some sort of radar sensor?!!?!?!? apparenltly you can set 2 zones with it, if any thing moves in the inside zone, it goes off, the second zone you can set up to 2 meters from the car and it warns people to back off. The only disadvantage is that the standard remotes that come with the car wont work, it has it's own set of remotes. Do you guys think this would be a good idea? Sleep counter reset again to 4 more sleeps and another bottle of scotch
-
Looks like it's another bottle of scotch for me :( The car the dealer saw comming off the back of the truck on saturday last week was a merc silver XR8, not my XR6Turbo :( He said that it still hasnt left FPV (lack of parts they are telling him) although he's hoping that it should be at the dealership friday arvo or sat morning, 2 days working to pre deliver it makes it a tuesday or wednesday delivery next week. Oh well, good things come to those who wait right? cause I'm really starting to go nuts with the wait. Trembling everywhere, I need my fix of my 'T'

Hehehehe, My dad taught me the same thing, "Chris, Remeber that the other drivers on the road have no arms, legs or heads. Be on your guard at all times and anticipate that the driving torso's are always going to do something completely f**ked up."
-
You live in Wagga? or just visiting? And yes I do agree, no crap in the new beastie, she's too good for all that.
-
I'm not even sure where he had the radar, couldnt see it, Although the meter was on the dash. Seen him pull over plenty of unsuspecting idiots trying to drag him off in comodores though  You should have seen the look on their faces. hahahahahhaaa
-
Better not I'm sure I'd get burnt on that one  He's not around that often anyways, he only stuck around long enough to clean it, then went on his way again. Although the new dank mobeele shows up in a couple of days, I'll be sure to take plenty of pics of it for the gallery :D

Looks sweet fellas. I remember that a while ago someone also posted a pic of their grille with a small white plate and the 'xr6' and 'turbo' logos on it, are they x'ive?

I'm a sad case as well  I play with routers and servers for fun. Spend hours in front of the dang things to keep up to pace on the latest technical enhancements for my job. I also run a small hosting service to pay for all this and that keeps me pretty busy in it self. I follow the V8's and if I have the time either flag or spectator control at winton, bathurst, oran park and eastern creek. I occasionally head to Wakefield park as well and flag for the Q'ies, Konica's and Brute utes. Drinking can be called a hobby? I enjoy the occasional quiet one at the pub on a friday night after work. Green thumb when time permits, trying to keep my garden up to scratch is a pain in the butt, but gets me away from the computers for a few hours every week. Also go to the Gym a few times a week to stay somewhat in 'shape' :D Other than that playing with my old EA used to be part of the weekends activities, although I sold it nearly 2 months ago, am so hanging out for my 'T' 3 more sleeps!

Was rather interested to see an XR6 Turbo sitting in my parents next door neighbours driveway today. He's a highway patrolman for the police. Had a talk to him (it was Merc Silver same as the one I'm picking up on wednesday this week, god willing.) and he said that it's purely a stock car apart from the radios, radar and red and blue flashing lights. Was a pretty sweet car. He said he'd drive nothing but a Expensive Daewoo before but he loves the new BA and said if he had the cash he'd trade in his current car for the BA turbo He said that once people found out about the XR6Turbo police car that he drives, he rekoned that a lot of people would be slowing pretty quick when they saw my car  Another convert... all goot!
