  2. Igot a cheaper hardcover from flexiglass, was around $1,200. What comes in real handy about this cover is the handles, you don't need to get your keys out to open it but it's still lockable.Didn't focus on looks here,if I did I would have got a genuine product but I'm actually quite happy its looks.
  3. Go see the guys at westside car audio, they'll sort you out. They can do the job for you,if not, they will be happy to guide you through the job step by step then you can have a bit of fun doing the job yourself
  4. Iran a 4 gauge wire for my v12 alpine amp, which powers me 12" cerwin vega sub,did all the wiring myself, took me atleast 10 good hours...end result was worth it,now my system has loud punchy bass....makes rear view mirrow vibrate like a mofo
  5. Very possible bro,I've just installed an amp and 12 inch sub in my ba ute
  6. Gimme a hoy, have just installed amp+12"sub in my ba
  7. You gotta run mains from your battery to your amp...easy enough. As for your remote, under the right hand side of your dash there are 3 plugs,a yellow,a white and a blue plug;the blue plug is the one you want. You get a multimeter, set it to dc volts...check each of the four pins, checking them with your key on "accessories"but also check with key in off pozzi. one pin will give you zero, another will give you around 5 volts, the third will give you 12 volts with key either on or off....the last will give you 12 volts with the key turned to "accessories"...and that's your pin.You then crimp a tongue lug or "male" lug onto your remote wire, bob's your uncle. In terms of signal, easy;grab a converter from your local car audio shop, then parallell your rear speaker wires to that unit, then from that unit..your 2 rca's will go straight into your amp. Then job done, good luck (I've recently done this to my ute). Just remember to situate your mains fuse as close to your battery as possible to protect your mains cable.
  8. Anyone had the steering shudder successfully fixed?
  9. What oils do you guys use on your turbos? I've been recommended synthetic so that's what I use,I know an enthusiast who runs a sick ba t with 450 kilowatts at the front wheel and he swears by synthetic.
  10. I first owned a 2.6 ltr sigma 5 speed manual Then a vp Late model camira exec 3.8 4 speed auto Now,ba xr6t with all the goods I've never had before;;tiptronic, lsd, elec windows, tints, hardcover, paint+rust+fabric protection+4 year extended warranty...and ofcourse 240 kilowatts of power...and just to top it,a 300 watt cervin vega sub owned by an alpine mrv1505 v12 amp.
  11. In ragards to your sub issue I recommend running a new heavy duty line back to the battery, grab yourself a descent amp,not using existing factory parts (if you want real bass that is)
  12. I've had my bat ute looked at because of banging/rattling noises from right front and right rear also. They reckon the exhaust plays a part and also apparently the brake caliper needs regreasing but they recommended I get that done when my pads are due. The rattle is a tad annoying but in my case the car checked out fine. My main concern was that I'd be doing damage to it while driving.
  13. I purchased my 03 ba xr6t ute about 7 months ago. Love the car, even the standard sound system was pretty good, just lacking bass.So I dug out my alpine v12 mrv1505 amp,dug out my 12" cervin vega sub, bought a box, some cable and bits n pieces from Westside car audio (they were friendly and gave me a lot of very useful advice).I installed the amp n sub. So now I'm a happy camper
