  1. Add another failure to the list. Found my pulley had come clean off the shaft and was sitting on at the bottom of the engine bay. Symptons were the same as old_mate plus a melted plastic/rubber smell from the engine bay over the past few days. Car is stock with 75000km on it, and unfortunately 5months out of warranty :(
  2. I have just found my water pump pulley has come off too. Noticed a spray pattern of rubber from the main belt before finding the missing pulley down on the stone tray. My guess is the pulley came off today on my way home from work, sounded like running over a large stick or branch. Prior to this I had noticed a ticking/squeaking sound from the engine which started about a week ago and in the past few days a distinct new (bad) smell from the car, which I now know was the overheating plastic from the pulley and the rubber of the drive belt. Car is stock with 75000km, and 5 months out of warranty unfortunately :( http://www.mediafire...8yd30zybmlr1734 http://www.mediafire...qbhb5y98tkt2bus

G'day all, Just picked up my new ride from fellow member on here, JA2473. Only had it 5 days and am already loving it! Feb '09 FG xr6t ute, Nitro, Manual, Sports pack, Tinted windows, Carpet tub liner, tow bar. I'd love to mod it, but it wouldn't be for a while yet...still need to get used to the power :D
  4. Kalto, jump onto the various Insurance websites and do some quotes, best way to get an accurate idea on what it will cost you. Myself, I'm 25, just purchased a feb09 xr6t ute and paid only $610/yr with AAMI. Lowest excess, spotless driving history and living in QLD.
  5. Moved up from a '97 honda prelude VTIR.....1000% worth the change! Though the lil prelude is still zippy through the corners.
  6. Looks like I won't be taking my newly aquired FG to ford for any servicing!
  7. That sux big time! As a prospectivebuyer, it's experiences like these that make me think twice about purchasing a FPV, and to go with just a plain xr6t or something else Best of luck dude.
  8. Thanks for the replies guys. Would it be worth getting a custom tune to limit engine output for such trips?
  9. As strange as it may seem to many....a model train layout GVM for the trailer will be less than the 1200kg limit for manuals
  10. G'day guys, Been on here for a while, but this is basically my first post. I'm looking to get a BF onwards xr6t ute preferably manual, and will need to tow a trailer about 2-4 times a year down to Sydney (from brisvegas). I've searched the forums a fair bit RE towing and understand the towing limits of the xr6t and that they have no probs with it. However I could not find an answer for this question. What are people’s thoughts on towing with a modified T with about 350rwkw? Obviously the clutch would have been replaced long ago with a higher spec twin plate. Apologies if this has been answered before, but I was unable to find any info. Cheers, Brendan
