  1. that's not a bad idea either. I have thought about that area as well, but I would say that it might be a bit too large if it were hinged and a big triangle wedge would probably get in your view. Still no reason not to look into it and see what can be done.
  2. that's quite good Phil. Not a bad idea at all. I am also starting to think about trying to mount it on the far right hand side of the car where the single air con duct is. I don't like the windscreen mount ones there because I hate the way it takes away too much viewing area. I think some guys have located computer monitors etc over the vent, so that it sits lower than the windscreen. Has anyone got an example they can show me of how they have mounted their monitors/gps there? I'm not sure how to get my cradel to sit there. Cheers for the help so far guys its been great. Brett.
  3. No worries mate. Good luck!
  4. Hi guys just to continue with this topic I have a BF XR6 NA and I wanted to do a brake upgarde also. I looked into the FTG kit with new front and rear calipers and slotted RDA rotors. Am I right in saying that the upgrade uses twin piston front calipers, but they are slightly larger than my originals? I know that the XR6 NA never got a brake upgrade in the BF range but the turbo and 8 did as standard. I am a bit confused on the topic, because they have quoted $650 front and $650 rear package, but I am not sure if I need new calipers if they are they are the same or very similar to what I currently have? Do I just need new larger rotors and pads only or should I purchase the whole package for $1300? Thanks Brett.
  5. Pics of the Mio C520. I was considering putting it over on the drivers side near the aircon vents. Ideally I don't want it on the windscreen at all. I can't mount it down low where the tissue box is because I have a manual, and I assume it would get in the way. Thanks Brett.
  6. Hi, I was just wondering where everyone has mounted their aftermarket sat nav? I have a Mio C520 and I currently have it suction capped to the centre of the windscreen. I am paranoid about leaving the cradle there when it is parked. I would ideally like to hardwire the device somewhere in my BF that is a little less obvious. I am trying to find the best way to make it look neat and tidy. Feel free to upload any images of your systems and their locations in your BA/BFs. Thanks Brett.
  7. Hi guys, Here are the pictures of my car and the painted Dark Argent XR 18" Wheels. They are the same style as the factory MKII Runout wheels which also had a charcoal infill, but were not glossy like FPV paint I used. Oh Daav just to let you know one wheel shop was going to charge me $182 per rim, so shop around at different crash shops etc. Hope this helps. Regards, Brett.
  8. Dark Argent looks great on an Ego car. A mate of mine just got the runout BF Turbo with the upgrade 18" wheels with the charcoal infill. It is pretty much Dark Argent in colour, but does not have the gloss. When I saw his I got my 18" XR wheels painted in Dark Argent for my Black XR6. I'm really happy with the colour. Trust me you can't go wrong with Dark Argent and Ego!!!
  9. Thanks guys I appreciate the advice.
  10. Hi All, Just wondering if there is a way to prevent chipping painted wheels when you put them back on the car? I had a set of wheels painted and my wheel brace just slightly scuffed the paint around the reccess for the wheel nuts. Is there a better and more effective tool, so that I wont do it again? I am in the middle of getting them touch up. Sorry I am no mechanically minded if this is an obvious question. Regards, Brett.
  11. Hey mate, I have just painted my BF XR 18" Wheels. I had them painted in Dark Argent, which looks pretty good. All up it was $100 a wheel, but that was a cash job. In case you are interested the paint code for Dark Argent is (BAH) and it is a PPG Cobra paint. I have to say it wasn't the easiest paint to track down. Only problem I have now is that I accidentlly chipped the paint around a few wheel nuts putting them back on, so its going back for touch ups. Sorry to ask a question in your thread but does anyone know how to prevent this. Is there something other than a wheel brace that I can use for tightening the wheel nuts?
