I wud think it is harder than it appears. you could get a fg shifter mechanism from a wrecker and experiment. if I was gonna look at doing something like this, I would prol go down the route of cutting both shifter stalks in half, and having them joined. then tinkering with the selctor rod to disengage gear locks. I dont think the shifter surround would work unless you grafted that part of the console into a ba one. that would mean fibreglass, bog, paint. dont start it unless you have the skills/ patience to finish.

should NEVER just assume a tune done by a previous owner is still gonna be ok. always get it checked. my ba bottom end is holding well on 17psi and 350+rwkw. and im thinking of upping to 19-20psi. ( dont tell bruce though) bruce heinrich tuned of course. its all in the tune.....
