no kaboom, although everyone at the workshop thought it would go... they put trays under the dyno so they didnt have to clean the floor off so much.... we started off with 98ron. result was 343.5rwkw. remembering that the most I had was 351rwkw with 1/2 e85 and 98 ron. the boost rises from 17psi mid range up to 19psi at 6000rpm. then we added e85 to make a 50/50 mix. the result was 363.6rwkw. boost rises from 16psi mid range to 17psi all the way to 5500rpm where is peaks to 19psi. I cant upload charts at the moment due to having reached my upload quota for the forum, but will do so when this is sorted. a couple of thoughts on the .performance: bruce was NOT impressed with the plenum. its a jd custom, similar to process west as best as I can tell. it is HUGE, and although ive got very strong low end performance, bruce reckons the air speed would suck..... this seems to be the case, because when we removed the under bat cai, allowing the air to enter straight into the turbo, we lost 20rwkw! theory is that the pod filter gave some regularity to air speed. prol reduced stupid amounts of air cramming into plenum, kinda like 10 fat guys entering a door single file instead of all trying to cram through at once... fix to this will be to sell the jd plenum and get a nispro or similar. alot smaller in volume but more efficient. I was expecting more than 15rwkw above previous max power, but there were some other changes made since that run was done. I replaced the 'hi flowed' stock ba cat section going to twin 2 1/4 stock pipes to twin 2.5" cat back system, with twin 2.5" 100cpi bullet cats going to twin 2.5" pipes. this made the smallest section of the exhaust twin 2.5". the general consensus is that this change has probably hindered flow, so I am thinking of getting the new cats 'hi flowed', but am unsure whether I should. the other change is that I now have a histalled built btr. this robs power of course. I also have not done any turbo mods at all. flapper mod and port job would definately increase power. a/r .7 comp cover would improve flow too. valve springs are only oem typhoon ones. crow would no doubt improve things too, as the car was unsettled a bit after 6000rpm runs. all in all I am happy with the result. it's the highest power original motor ba that has ever been on that dyno, slightly beating bruces own ba he did back in the day. interestingly, after 15 or so dyno runs, bruce ran off for a torch, to check it actually is the original motor, as we started to get doubtful when it didnt pop. it is. where to next? prol will get a wrecked bf 2 and do a motor and zf transplant. then with the mods I have, should be staring down the barrel of 450....
