  1. "Pit Inspection" - I pretty much just made that term up myself lol. Managed to find out the info I required today. Inspection for road worthy certificate is 90 bucks. Just that some of the stories I had come across were of thousands of dollars being required. Probably only cars that aren't road worthy to start with, and I wont be getting one of those. Cheers
  2. I'm looking at buying a new car in the next couple of months, and, typical modern day problem in Western Australia, cars can be considerably cheaper in the eastern states. I've read through as much info as I can on bringing cars into W.A and it seems that pit inspections can be avoided, which would help save money. But one requirement that is deemed necessary to skip the pits, is that the car has been registered in my name for a period of greater than 12 months. Therefore I would have to get it inspected. I would also be assuming that the car is stock standard. I"m having trouble finding out what sort of costs are involved and just how much of a hassle this inspection would be, so if people who have been through this process could provide there experiences, it would be a great help in my planning.
  3. have been in my mates ba mark 2 that made 301rwkw off just tune and injectors. tuned by simon at xtreme. was a bit of a freak engine though
  4. There is a term amongst the japanese drag scene called RH9. Its given to a car that can run 9 second quarter miles on street legal tyres and pump fuel. Mainly skyline gtr's with 4wd. quite a few in japan and the U.S.A and a few in Aus I think (don't know if we cheat and use Japanese octane levels 100+). Do we have any falcons able to do this now or how close are we?
  5. Yeah that guys name is Matt Berry. He's in The Mighty Boosh, The I.T Crowd, and that show Snuff Box. all very strange, and 607% hilarous. big ups to brit comedy's
  6. perfect is the word. especially cos its dumped. imagine if they were 20's....
  7. With the amount of power and the times some straight sixes in supras are being achieved, surely its only a matter of time before the falcon 6's get there too.
  8. looks like it should be, but yeah a pic from further out would be good
  9. gets my vote. although a fatter ass would be better. cosmetically, not in heftiness
  10. yeah it helps me. I'd already got a new battery but it still had the problem of revs dropping really low, like to 250, and back again. I also changed the fuel filter too, as I thought that it was something to do with fuel, and was overdue anyway.
  11. haha I got the direction sorted. was 99.999% sure which way it went, with it being quite simple logic and all, but just that little bit not sure, like it might be on a return line or something. anywho!! I've tried undoing it and redoing a couple of times but still leaking. I'll try again tomorrow morning with a fresh start and some sunlight. cheers anyway peoples
  12. hey I just bought a new fuel filter for my ba. took out the old one (exactly the same as the new one), put the new one in and its leaking from the rear connection. I've checked it all but it just leaks when the pump is running. I've also had a blonde moment and forgotten which way it flows. towards the front of the car right? any suggestions?
  13. here is one for the burnouts. the last one obviously isn't illegal but still mental. burnouts I'd like to see a picture of the worlds biggest burger
  14. ah ok. well it should get airtime. if drifting can get some then this should. saw some other videos and they were saying it was like a mix of rally and motorkhana and somethin and I thought it might be new. eh... impressive none the less.
  15. Well I think its fairly new. another offspring of rally. anyone seen or heard much bout this gymkhana business? its got to be the most insane drifting I've seen and really does have to be seen to be believed!! anyone know of any of these events in australia? name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="628" height="525">
  16. yeah that's the one. the main thing I was interested in was possibly more air flow into the intercooler. but not gonna look like a tool trying to do so. ah well... lol at snow plow
  17. has anyone got pictures of, own, or seen a blits bodykits 'race' style front bar fitted to a BA/BF xr6t? from the picture on the website (which is currently not working so I cannot post a pic up) it looks a bit try hard V8 supercars, but I'll reserve final judgement till I get a better look at it. cheers, shaun edit: can someone please move this for me, I'm a douche with a capital BAG
  18. yeah mate the whoshing sound is the stock bov venting back into the intake when you come off boost. even just fitting an aftermarket panel filter will allow you to hear it more. basically more sound is escaping. no worries about it.
  19. I would agree with the time being configured for 1000 feet, as a quarter mile is 1320 feet
  20. yeah that's caled the Melbourne Shuffle. went clubbing last night and busted out a bit of that. I'm not very good at it and its hard as hell but wicked fun. that kid is nothing. search for melbourne shuffle on youtube and check ot some of the pros
  21. yeah white jap wheels FTW! like Volk TE37's. would be truckin expensive for 19's though. white R33 and R34 GTR's with fat TE37's look the bomb
  22. yeah the whites will def look good on the red. I really want whites on my car, and that's white too. something like these: but white with polished lip. I think the wheels in Bcl's avitar are exactly wat I want
  23. Exclusivity, that's exactly it. Look at the lamborghini Reventon. They were made simply because it was suggested that a gallardo or murchialago weren't exclusive enough for some http://www.leftlanenews.com/lamborghini-reventon.html The Reventon is pretty much exactly the same as a murchialago except for the exterior, which is specially designed to look like an f22 fighter jet. as well as a few other very minor interior changes. And the price? approx $1.6m! normal murchi is ONLY about 300 grand! But only 20 were made and all were sold pre production. rich bastards. that's the appeal of the w427. somethin that bit special in limited supply for the die hards who can cough up the dough
  24. yeah I recall seeing this to. was running bulk nos and full interior trim. I think is meant to be as streetable as possible in looks anyway. I'm gonna go buy that magazine I fink
  25. as far as I understand the relationship between power and torque (still got my years 12 physics from just a few years ago in my head), the power figure is proportional to torque and rpm. Found this formula: Power (kW) = torque (Nm) x 2 pi x rotational speed (rpm) ------------------------------------------------- 60000 60,000 comes from 60 seconds per minute times 1000 watts per kilowatt. where I think some of these differences in torque figures come about is in the tune. I've seen a tune where full boost of say 20 psi was dialled in at about 2800rpm or where ever it was, but it was then gradually tapered off to 15 or 16psi limiter. the 20 psi resulted in approx 1017Nm and 400KW at bout 2800rpm, but the 15 psi tapered to at cut off resulted in about 750nm and 423KW at cut off. Was an XR6T in Perth Street Car, can't remember which issue. Theoretically, if you also had a car that made a flat 15 psi over the whole boost range and using similar mods and conditions, it would make similar peak power but only have a peak torque of about 750Nm, which would remain for the rest of the boost range. Other contributors to this but on a smaller level are piping length and diameter. Generally, short length and big diameter piping allows for huge volumes of air to flow resulting in bigger torque numbers higher in the rpm, which equals greater peak power; and longer smaller diameter piping promotes higher air flow velocities which is great for bumping up midrange torque when the volume of air isn't as great, but can restrict the volume at high rpm, resulting in lower peak torque, lower peak power. Its not everything but these are some of what I reckon are contributors to similar power figures and completely different torque figures. Bloody hell, its only my first post. HEAVY!! Anyway hope that helps and I don't get shot down with the very next post.
