auto or manual. This could be my problem. I have a vibration and have had it with 2 different diffs. It goes away for first 10kms when I swapped the diff but was back after giving it some stick. could be gearbox mount for sure. cheers

Well not rotors. After more mucking around found diff is rooted. Just got another this arvo off a forum member so will be dropping that in. I think the pinion on mine is bent causing the vibration. But will know 100% by the weekend. If it still does it I think I will burn the car lmao. Not much else I can think of to do it. Will keep you posted.

Hey guys. Got a diff problem and have had it in and out to many times so have had enough and want another diff. I know of a 3.46 ratio ready to go a guy has. But I have a series 2 BA with 6 speed manual and stock diff they have is 3.73. Would dropping to 3.46 change a huge amount. Will drop revs I tiny amount. From what I calculated its only 4kmh diff at 100kmh. And that will actully make my speedo right. It is 5kms out atm. Any down side to this? Cheers Matt

Hey Mate I got the EXACT same problem with mine. Except my vibration is worst around 80kmh. I have rebuilt diff, had tailshaft balanced, new drivers side driveshaft. Still there. Have been playing around this morning with it and noticed when I take the rotors off the vibration is gone. So just about to go pickup a set of rotors n see how I go. Will let ya know.

Hey guys.. Thought I would just chuck a quick update here. My RHS CV is playing up. Has quite a bit of slop in it so thought mmm time for newie. Rang bursons as I seen in this thread they have them and he told me not available until the 9th of sept 2010. The current batch out are having some issues with vibrating etc and manufacturer has advised and "updated" version will be available in september. Dunno if this helps anyone but I will let you know how they go. Mine is holding up atm just vibrates. Cheers Matt

well I dragged this up from a while ago but thought I should update everyone on what happened. Well I was under car to check it out and oil was all over back of car. Pulled drain plug and was plenty of oil in diff still. Anyways went to turn tail shaft and it moved. The yoke in the diff moved around quite a bit and hence the oil leaking out. After pulling tail shaft out to check I found the pinion nut VERY loose. Almost off. SOOO out come the diff. Was lucky the diff didnt grab and lock itself. After finding pinion that loose thought I better put new bearings throughout. Done that new seals etc and she is back in and running a dream. SOO anyone having this issue with whinning CHECK PINION ASAP. I was lucky I caught it when I did. I think if I drove it anymore at all I would of blown diff. It did actually grab as I was driving the car into shed. Just as I rolled back it jammed. So VERY VERY lucky. Gears didnt sustain ANY damage at all soo was wrapped. Diff is back together and running fine. New diff bush was put in too. So VERY VERY lucky here. Cheers Matt

Hey guys. Been weighing up selling my XR6t and buy a BF with curtain airbags. But after seeing an interior for sale in for sale forum with side airbags I was wondering if it was possible to install side airbags into a car with out them. I would imagine they setoff same as front airbags so sensors wouldnt be a problem?? Or am I totally off? Cheers Matt

ok I might just stick to the transmax then. When I was in the shop I couldnt remember what it was called so had a look in the book n the sin75 was the one listed but I think it might of been series 1 manual which is the t5. Anyways I will stick with the known and grab some of the good stuff. Thanks for speedy relies guys. Cheers Matt

Hey Thinking of changing the oil in me gearbox as it seems a lil clunky and I have just rebuilt the diff so thought I might change the oil. I know everyone uses tranzmax or whatever its called. I was in a shop n checked out the book and found this sin75 fully sythetic oil. Book says it only needs 2ltrs too and I know they hold quite a lot of oil. Is the book totally wrong or??? Has anyone used this oil. I know a few ppl have used it in skylines with good results. Cheers Matt

hey everyone just something a mate and I have been talking about. Since the BA's have some many iissues with tramp, CV's n bushes etc etc. The AU diffs are damn strong still. And dont seem to have half the problems. We have a AU s3 diff layng around and wondered if anyone knew if it would fit and what mods would be needed if any? Cheers Matt

Hey guys, First off I did do a search and found some other diff whine threads but I have some more questions. Second its a 2004 BA2 XR6t 6 speed manual. DEAD Stock. When I bought my T it had about 60,000kms in it. Have now just completed 70,000kms. When I bought it, it had NO diff whine under any situation. Was great thought I got a good one. Now the whine has started. But I am concerned. Drive about 200kms yesterday and it got pretty bad within just those 200kms. Now it u back off in 3rd when in low rpm it REALLY whines. Puts a whole vibration through the car. I just feel it is like the normal diff whine. Any suggestions? Cheers Matt

hey guys sorry for late reply. Have been away with work. Car has 50,000kms on it. Is dead stock no mods what so ever. so isnt a tune or nefin. Is weird I find that if ya pin it at 2k it will cut around 3k. but from idle it will rev right out. no issues whatso ever through all gears (or as many as I could without breaking land speed record lol) Might go get it checked out at ford soon and let yas know whats going on. Cheers Matt

Hey guys Think this has something to do with the weird idle problem I wrote about recently. Was crusing in car other day in 3rd around the 2000rpm mark (6 speed manual). booted it to overtake a car and it got to about 3000rpm n cut out. Started running like it was on 2 cyls. If I clutch it and give it a rev cleans up but does same thing again around 3000rpm. Now the weird part is. If I drop back a gear and revs go over 3k it will rev and pull perfectly all the way through rev range. And tried recently from stand still WOT through as many gears as I could (private road ofcourse) and it went perfect. No splutter no cut out nothing. Any ideas. Cheers Matt

no the icc doesnt auto switch to aux. u gotta push am twice as you said. the phone kit is different coz phone control units (lil box under the dash that has the speaker and power cables etc actually earths a specific wire in that plug for it to take over the sound output. So no easy way to make it talk automatically.

would it be. has only done it once so far. and it wasnt wet or anything that day. and the other ute I remember this happening to was fine. it done it now n then but always ran fine. weird
