Well the straw that broke the camels back arrived the other day....via bloody petrol prices. 98 - $1.62 per litre. Absolutely laughable. So I have made a concious decision to drive my car less. So I have jumped into my daughters 93 Mazda 626. I filled it yesterday and it still has half a tank. Drives like a dream too. The only upside is when I get in the Turb again, it will be like I've just had it modded and will scare the bejeesus out of me. But seriously, that is just too much. I'll probably have to buy myself a little fart box for work I think. Just too expensive to have fun anymore.

You may be overlooking a simple thing. Your ETC maybe lighting up simply because your wheels are slipping. The ETC sensor is basically ABS in reverse. As soon as one of the sensors detect one wheel spinning faster than ther other it assumes your are loosing traction. It takes very little to light my rears up and the Maxis tyres I have do not squeel when they spin. Yours may be the same. I am not trying to be a smart@rse or tell you how to suck eggs, but you said it happens at different throttle apps but also said it pops up when giving it the boot so unless I am missing something.........

When I got my car done first it made 325rwkw. However the power came in sort of late. All I had was exhaust, cooler, injectors and fuel pump. Tune was about 12 psi but I felt like I really had to get it up and going before I really felt the power come in. Then I went to 372 at the wheels. Bigger cooler again, plenum and battery relocation with a very short intake. Tune went up to about 17psi. Well the power comes on stronger a lot sooner. I am told due to the shorter intake but also helps with the plenum. I can putter around ok, but tickle it a little and its all go with very little lag, in fact lag is barely noticeable. To me, the car is a hell of a lot more driveable, however, 372 is just a little bit too much once you start getting into it. Once the torque kicks in the rears light up and I have to back off. The car has pulled 12 flat down the quarter with a 2.2 second 60 foot but an end speed of 125mph, this is with a heap of wheel spin at the start and a slipping transmission towards the end. Maybe with a little less power I could go quicker but then maybe I'm just a cr@p driver. My point is, theres no sense having 600 kw at the treads if you can never use it. Like I said, when my power came in late it was useless to me. By the time the power really started to come in, I was doing 140 and I had run out of driveway. Now I can have fun and I'm only doing 45. Different mods will get you different things, but when you drive one of these cars with the power coming on strong nice and early you will get my meaning. Those who have a similar power curve to mine will know what I'm talking about. When I get boost right and I'm in the right gear coming out of a corner, after 14 months the bloody thing amazes and sometimes scares the hell out of me. And that's at around say 2500 to 3000 revs. If anyone disagrees, I'll cop that. Each to there own I think. One of the guys on here showed me his dyno and he makes mine looke like a Pulsar the way his brings on power. But I'm happy. I hope that sort of explains where I'm coming from.

that's pretty good power. Once you get up around 320 you wanna start looking at mods that give you more driveability other than just power. You will know what I mean when ya get there.

You could have not been so quick to agree re my jokes. Now I'm sad. I was reluctant to go on my first cruise. Would I be a good enough driver? What were the other people like? Would they be silly or mature? My first cruise was to the Great Ocean Road last year and I havent looked back. A bunch of people with the same type of car and like minded in their appreciation of the Ford 6 Turbo. The Snowies Cruise last year, getting to meet and put faces to names of the guys from NSW and QLD was such fun, and I am hoping Gary does it again this year. I personally know how hard it is to organise a cruise and I do know how hard Gary worked on this one and the effort put in. While it is dissappointing that only 5 cars are going, its not the end of the world. The small group is a great bunch and I am sure we will have a lot of fun. The only down side will be that I will keep thinking of all the poor b@sta@rds who dont go and what they are missing out on.

If you have a broken toaster you don't take it to a bait and takle shop to be fixed. My point? Talk to people who KNOW our cars and dont just try to sell you their stuff. Many exhaust places will fit it and tell you all is good and the thing runs like a dog because they have no idea you may have to get it tuned. These engines NEED to breath...simple. Different people WILL have different opinions, but the only person you need to listen to is yourself. A mate of mine has removed his middle muffler. Certainly sounds better. He likes it so whats the issue? I'm not 100% keen on the note but he is happy. I have a full 4" Nizpro system and I couldn't be happier. I honestly dont like chopping and changing and making up an exhaust just out of bits. My view is you get a proper one for OUR cars and that meets all criteria. Hot Dogs are old stuff in my opinion. A CAT is necessary for emiission regulations. But at the end of the day YOU have to be the one that is happy with the note and the performance.

I toyed with it and had them resting down there while I evaluated options. To tell you the truth if you are interested in staying alive, dont do it. Reason, with the guages above the ICC you can quickly look at them, With them down so low you have to take your eyes off the road to look. I'm serious when I say that this was a MAJOR issue for me and a massive safety concern. But it can be done.

So we have 5 confirmed including 2 Cruise Controllers. Well there's the front and back covered. Be nice to have a couple more as Gary and Rusty have heard all my jokes. But 5 is enough. Bugger the rest. They arent serious. Plenty of notice. I have ex wife issues, I sorted them. Can't afford the motel but finding the money anyway. So whats the problem? I think others have seen how Rusty and I drive and feel a bit intimidated. Sooks. So go on ya night cruise little fellas and leave the serious cruisin to the big boys. Do you think my reverse psychology will work Gary????????

Now I am in no way saying that ANY of these are corrupt (Well I am but I wont say which ones) but ANY organisation that has ANY secrecy is somthing we should be suspicious of. Look at the Knights Templar most of whom were murdered by the Pope in the 13th or 14th century on Friday the 13th (that's why its bad luck). Can I add an update to this maintenance. It is definately sufficient to remove the top hose only and use WD 40. HOWEVER. Recently Rusty and I found that if you REMOVE the solenoide completely, spray WD 40 in the top until it comes out clear and not all gooey, leave it for 5 then gently blow through it and replace, it its a much better result. To do this you will have to remove the battery and it is best to replace both hose clips with screw on ones for later. You DO NOT have to do this. The ordinary maintenance will suffice, but we found Rustys was very dirty and spraying WD 40 through it cleaned it right out.

Sam, take it further mate. Definately get a report writtten. Keep the old oil filter and oil if ya can. Write to the service manager but also the head of service at Ford otherwise the Coburg guy will just piss in your pocket and nothing will get done.
