So basically, I get one of the external cards that convert VGA to composite/rca/cga and run this cable from it to the ICC??

Have scoured the threads and most are quite old. There was a tutorial where the ICC was ripped out and the plug from a demister on a EL falcon was used to allow VGa imput, and then I see a converter from VGA to composite used. In Short I have one of my daughters old school laptops I was going to play with. Its small, and I can sacrifice it. It hasd a VGA output and obviously wanna hook it into the ICC. My aim will be to get a touch screen overlay to control the applications. I may end up getting a purpose built mini pc but for now, this costs me nothing and will do the job nicely. Anyway, the question at hand is, whats the best (easiest if possible) way to hook the VGA out put to the ICC screen? Thanks in advance for your help peoples.

See. Its not just me. And my daughter says I'm making up stuff. He he (says he dancing around the room like a looney). I'm not going bonkers. Ok Heres the deal. I spoke to the workshop foreman on Friday about a quote to do the bushes. For the outers he quoted $240 while the cradle was out but he said 2 but there is 3 to be done so I'll get that updated Tuesday. I'll do the outers and if its still there when I get the car back, well we know its not the outers. An expnsive exercise maybe but I'm at the point where I DON'T CARE. Think of the most annoying thing in your life and your about where I am. My greatsest pelasure, (well one of them ) is driving my car and it is ruined by this bang in the back. Anyway, if you dont like Deisel Geminis, Honda Accord Euro Drivers, or my ex wifes boyfriend then you are on my wavelength. Are you talking physical install on top of ICC or sensor install? There a couple of walk throughs I think re ICC removal and guage install. Not sure about sensors. I'll keep watchin though as I wanna do mine.

I have a bang in my rear suspsension that is giving me the irrates. I had a similar issue to you in my BA and for about 50,000 ks I complained to Ford who said they couldn't find it. Got to 105,000 and out of warranty and guess what? They found the problem. "You need new diff and one of your drives shafts is gone" $2500 thanks. Joke was on them., I had extended warranty. "OH, um, OK, well, um, the diff should be ok". Piss off. Fix it. Now Im not a conspiracy type person, but if it was the ZF, it is far cheaper for them to repalce diff bush and engine mounts that a whole tranny so I'm guessing they will stuff you around until you either get jack and give up or you run out of warranty. Sounds like it is the begining of the transmission "slap" I read about. If its only in 6th gear you don't need to be Einstien to work out it aint the freaken tyres. Get them to check the Flux capacitor while you are there. I'm sure yours looks worn. To me? I'm going with transmission. When was the last time you had it serviced??

In the days of the VH Commodores they had a real bodgey fuseable link between the alternator and the battery or there abouts. I remember when I was on the highways I had 3 go in about 3 weeks. All in different cars (one in the superintendants car and he weren't happy) Kills the car, not zoom, not power, no lights. Nothing. I don't know how the Ts or Falsons are set up but it could be loose there. That would scare the licimg hell out of me too.

Theres some good ones there actually. Shocks and springs not an issue. Happened before new ones. Pissed the spare wheel thing out months ago. Bearings are interensting, but I reckon we can discount those in this case. Rear sways..I had the link changed when the shocks were done. Its now a Wholesale Suspeniosn ball joint thingy. The sway are pedders and they bloody creak like buggary. But this aint the noise. I actually though it might be the inners not the outers but then what do I know. When they drop the cradle I'm insisting they swap andif it still makes the noise you will hear me go off from the other side of Melb and I'll get a nice weekend drive to Penrith to see Pat.

I think Rosie youve hit something there. Pat and I have been discussing this all day and we sort of agree. So I'm going to INSIST they replace them Look, these things aren't Mercedes but for the money we pay youd expect not to sound like a bloody '73 Kingswood in the rear. The only issue I had with shocks and springs was worrying if they were tight at the top which they are. The other issue whether I should have gone lower rather than standard. But we will worry about that once the bang os gone. At least if they change it and it fixes it I will know and can change them again if need be. But for now, I just dont enjoy driving it....much. Ok. Had enough. Diff bush is gone, but has been going for a while so have booked it in AGAION with Ford to have that fixed. When I booked it in I was told if the other bushes are worn but not cracked, they wont replace them. Un real. I am suspecting its the upper control arms as the shocks are solid. But I am being sent around the bedn by this noisey rear. A car should NOT make these noises. Don't care who you are or what you say. HOPEFULLY a solution will be found.

So you found the noise?? I thought the missus mite have been giving you heaps so you just opened the bonnet to get away. Glad you worked it out and she is still happy.

Too true. But I got them cheap and man o man the stopping power is excellent and they look absolutly HORN. I havent tried Bremnbos which I know are good but I can't compare them. Oh well. I'll post pics tonight although its awfully hot out there. I'll wait till it cools down a tad.

Ok found the link and another link to the same kit as I got although its not for a Falcon obviously. I emailed the guy and he said approx $195 USD postage but probably more. The kit was $1705.00 USD. So with todays conversion rates that's $2026 AUD plus $225 AUD postage for a total of $2251. Now that's some serious stopping power for very little coin. HOWEVER. They have Corvette written all over them. NOT a good look on a XR6 Turbo AND they dont come with the mounting brackets which, if you COULD buy, would probably cost you say $150 per corner I would say given the size of the bracket and the bolts. So I Paid $3800 for the kit and installation was zero and they have pbr Not Corvette. I think there is a place on the net that sells the kits fitted for either $5500 or $5900. I cant recall. So I may have paid a little more than if I got them from the US but I'm pretty happy. Please don't think I am having a go Winstor, I'm not. I just hate it when ya buy something and someone tells you you could have got it cheaper here. So I always like to find out and really give myself the sh!ts. But this time, I am pretty happy cause theres no Chevrolet reference on my Ford. ARRRGH!!!

Think I worked it out. I was heavy braking with the ZF transmission in perf mode. Mine changes down aggressively under braking and I think when I brake hard Im getting aome compression lock up. Anyway, I havent had a change to do some stops. Took it on the Otwats run yesterday and did some very quick runs through some turns with a super powered FG up my clacka. He ran out of brakes and I had not a touch of fade and it was stopping where I wanted it too so, so far so good. Whats a set of pads average fro 6 pot Front Brembos? Anyone?

Would have been better if you hadn't been up my bum when you were behind me. Those bl**dy XR5s, what a sleeper they are. Couldn't shake you ya bugger. I'm thinkin, "Yeah I'll shake this bloke" and come to the next corner BANG, like you were on rails. I think we should ban them from the next cruise. lol I know the guys at Nizpro are doing some developement on them. Dave I think has one. Yep I'd be down for an overnighter. Be a gret way to catch up and a reson to bring the GF (if she wants to stay the GF). After todays run, I think I love my car more. MMMMM. But keep me posted re the date and I'll be there.
