Wow, So the car was done back on 18 June, The exhaust was a sh*t fit, rattled like f*ck. And made the whole car really droney. But finally the new spacer arrived, and the exhaust fits perfectly, no more drone, no more rattle. It sounds awesome, zero drone. Just sucks it took 3 months to get it sorted out. I will still try and get that vid up at some stage.

Mr car got a service yesterday. The shop took the front brakes off to see what I need to get them replaced, then put them back together. And now last night when I went for a drive, and same thing, brake light was very dimly lit. When you turn accessories, it briefly lights up at full strength, but while driving, comes on no where near as bright as fully lit. So I'm putting it out there again, Anyone with any Ideas?

Nice right up Steve, I didnt realise the amount of passion you have been putting into your car. It looks good, I like your blue interior lights and angel eyes. Sorry I took so long on sending you the nizpro pipes. But you probably know well how long it takes to organise car mods.. I've told Kim to post of that boost part thing that you need, so it WILL get sent monday. Sorry for not sending it first time round. I didnt know what the f*ck it was for. Sorry about your father mate, just keep remembering the good times!

I'd like to wind it up a bit more but still got the stock internals and dont think my turbo could punch much more out. Things are close to their limit at the moment you'd think hey. Nice arse up there fpv6t

Cheers Mate, I'm really happy with what Ian and Brendan at Aitkenvale have done with it. I'm just wondering how much further this setup could "safely" be pushed If I throw some atomic valvesprings at it.

Ok. So here are my dyno sheets. The 260 one was after my initial nizpro stage 1+ but without much exhaust mods. It was a typical hot humid day and the dyno number reflected that. The other 2 sheets are my 2 tunes that I have now for the car. There is a 3rd 300rwkw tune that I load up for my girlfriend while I'm away. Otherwise she is too scared to drive. haha. On another note the process west surge tank/fuel pump is quiet as, you wouldn't even know that it was there. My exhaust still needs fixing.. I'm gonna ring SMB today and see if they can send me another part. Really annoying.

how much torque was yours pumping out when tuned with the 372?
-
Yeah, looks to me like they are doing more and more fords in there all the time. They seem pretty good, I'm happy with the results I've gotten from them. In fact there was a blue FG in there getting tuned yesterday. I spoke to Thomas, and he said that the FG xr6 turbos were good for 320 -330 rwkw max. If you want more you have to upgrade the turbo. FG F6 will go further though. They are in the nizpro alliance and have been trained by nizpro on the fords I think. And I think mine has gotten some pretty good results from them. Yeah, I reckon they would be the best in townsville for fords. I wouldn't have taken my car there otherwise.

r spec, noticed you sig now says headsex tuned.. whats you fg f6 doin now? And also mate one of your vids of your old phoon on youtube made me go down the path of tuning. cost me a bit, but worth it bro. Thanks for the inspiration. Yours was the silver/grey F6?

Aitkenvale Auto and dyno. and 17ish psi. I got another tune with 360rwkw 1060nm with 16 pound. You from the ville as well 4ordt?

Yeah, my car is finally in. Got it tuned about a month ago, but been away and not able to drive it for the last 3 weeks. The new found power is insane. Been basically "putting" around most of the day, just building boost and backing off listening to the dose. Haha frickin loud. But went to the shops before and and had a clear bit of road, I shifted it into manual and floored it and instantly went sideways. I reckon it'll take me a while to get used to it. Ok, so the car is an 07 BF Mk2 Typhoon. It's got the ZF 6 speed auto. Mods started with a nizpro stage 1 plus kit which was good for around 290rwkw. Now it's got: - Nizpro Cooler - Nizpro Drilled Injectors (72lb I think) - Nizpro ported turbine housing with 12 pound actuator, 38mm flapper valve. - Nizpro Plenum with all the throttlebody relocation sh*t - Process West 6" Race Intake - Process west Surge Tank and Bosch 044 Fuel Pump - SMB 4" Dump to 3.5" tapered exhaust 5" Metal Substrate cat. What this setup gives me at the moment is 377.6 rwkw and 1104nm of torque. The power could have been pushed further but I would need to replace my valve springs. But thought I wouldn't worry about it for now in case the bug bites again and I go for a built engine with more power. Credit to Kev and Process west, his gear looks good and performs great. His race intake sounds awesome too. It sounds like it's gunna suck in people off the street. Nizpro gear seems to be the goods also, but they take forever to get parts. I waited 2 months for a sedan exhaust before I got the sh*ts and decided to buy the SMB. Which I've been having a few problems with the fitament. Took ages for my change over turbo as well. Now the exhaust, They supplied the wrong cat which was too short, then supplied an adapter which made it too long... I gotta get on there case and try to get another part to make it fit properly, which is a shame, the quality of the welds and the exhaust looks really good, but because they supplied the wrong part on 2 occasions which makes it fit like sh*t it makes there gear not seem so great. And the Cat hangs lower than my sideskirts... But exhaust problems aside This level of power is crazy as most of you other people with this power level know. But when you read about other peoples cars making 400 - 500+ rwkw 300 odd doesnt seem like a lot. But trust me, it's fuggin insane. Best australian made car ever.
-
at least! I done the sums on my build the other night. 15 g's for 370rwkw. Dont know how so many people get to this level of power so cheaply. And that is power mods only, not servicing and tyres etc. In hindsight a built atomic motor would have been the go, and then I could have also sold my f6 motor. But oh well, sh*t happens.

My 07 BF MK 2 foon ZF has a tune with 360rwkw. Got the hardware and could push 380, but at around that mark the car was getting valve float. I chose not to worry about putting any in and keep it at 360 with 1060nm. It is a sh*tload of power anyway for a daily driver. I've got another tune at 370rw with 1200nm in the box I could load up, and the valve springs seem alright..

if I was back id go for a run against ya. Never taken mine but im keen.

I second that, my process west race intake sounds tough. Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks in a sh*tload of air. Sounds like it might suck my engine block in.

I think I might stay out of this one. -

f*ck. Looking back now this question seems so dumb. ha ha. SHAME! A little bit of reading on this site can teach you so much. f*ck I've learnt alot through these forums in the last 5 months. -
The place where I was going to get it done suggested I didn't use the castrol transmax Z as it's not recommended for the ZF.. I can't remember which brand he suggested. He Said, the tranzmax z was more for the 4 speed. But I'm guessing you probably have a better Idea than my local. So you think the tranzmax Z is the way to go? I don't really care how much the oil cost or what brand it is as long as it will be the best for the box.

I've recently been quoted $900, for the job, And that's installing a Steel pan. Anybody out there know if this is a reasonable price?
-
I know to keep mine legal I had to buy a dry cell battery. Same deal as above to stop venting gasses.
-
4000rwkw would have torn your car a new arsehole. Did The ZF hold up to that much power ok? What exactly do you mean by worn out, how long has it been copping a thrashing for? I'm doing mine up right now to a similiar power level, I'm just wondering what sorta shelf life I might expect.

Mine is in the boot. Decided

Just an update to let you guys know whats happening with the exhaust and a few other mods. Car got picked up last week monday for everything to go in, most of the time spent since has been waiting for nizpro to send me another modified turbo. So it finally turned up yesterday... So everything was set for the car to be ready this arvy. But.. The cat which was supplied with my exhaust was the version of an earlier model exhaust, and so when the boys went to fit it there was no room for the o2 sensor, and the exhaust was basically a sh*thouse fit. Hangers didn't line up, pipes didn't even make it past the rear skirt. Turns out the newer exhaust is meant to fit a cat which is 40mm longer. So SMB is air bagging me an adapter to lengthen the exhaust by the 40mm it needs to fit. Very frustrating, when you've been organising mods for so long, and when the time finally comes to install it you get screwed by something as simple as the wrong cat being sent. Hopefully it arrives monday or tuesday, cause I fly out wednesday and will be gone for another 3 weeks. Oh well, sh*t happens I suppose. But I'm sure it will all come together eventually. On a more happy note, The nizpro plenum is in, my process west surge tank and race intake is in. The massive optima drycell battery is in the boot. Cooler hooked up, injectors ready, turbo fully niz modded and ready to go. just waiting on that little adapter to arrive and then happy days. But I'm sure something else will go wrong... Bound to happen haha, a rod will probably pop out and say hello while it's getting tuned.. Just my luck.

I won't be back at home for another 2 weeks, the car is getting picked up today by my mechanic to do all the work. When I get back I'll post the vid and some photos. The SMB website prices my exhaust at over $2900 (not fitted or tuned), I rang and got mine for $2400. So I thought I got a fairly good deal. Dunno if he would repeat that price though. Can't wait to get home in a few weeks to drive the thing. I will see if I can get it up on the hoist and take a few photos from underneath when I get back.
